Mtombo Self-catering Unit has a private bush setting and as it is situated in a game park, guests will be able to hand feed zebra and other wildlife possibly and hear lions, hyenas, fish eagles or hippos from the Kruger. The unit consists of three beautifully appointed double en-suite bedrooms, a kitchen, a lounge area, an outdoor dining veranda as well as a boma braai area. Guests can also cool down in the splash pool.
Take a walk to the river and watch elephants and maybe even rhinos or take a 15 minute drive to visit the one and only Kruger National Park. For the golfers, Leopard Creek is half an hour away and if you are keen on seafood a-la-Portuguese, pop over the border to Mozambique, just an hour away, for a fish feast extravaganza.
Want to see a little African tribal dancing and experience Swazi tradition? Head south for an hour and visit the Kingdom of Swaziland. The local shops within the town have everything you would need or should you feel like just relaxing, stay at home and relax and enjoy the tranquility.

26 guests' feedbackOur stay was very pleasant. We were upgraded to the Leeus Villa next door, which was an excellent spacious venue and very excluded from the neighbours. Thus, very private.
The pool is a plus and the wild animals are great. The children enjoyed putting out feed and then watching them come to eat.
Very refreshing and the kids enjoyed being up close with the animals, very heartwarming. An experience of a lifetime.
We had a very nice stay there.
Great place for a family vacation, love the animals. Just the showers weren't too pleasing. If you are a sensitive person, I wouldn't recommend.
Pictures of the lodge were misleading, not like in pictures. It was hopelessly overpriced, I don't know if I can confidently use them in the future.
Short update. No place to sit full of garbage.
Will definitely visit KrugerRiverVillas again. Two days were just too little. So easy to visit the Kruger National Park from there or just sit on your porch and watch all the animals that pass by. Nice braai place with plunge pool really enjoyed the place. Everything you need.
We had a great stay, can't complain about anything, the house has enough space for our family. The owner/manager was helpful and friendly. Accommodation was clean, spacious and tidy. Will use the accommodation again anytime.
The place had everything we needed for the weekend. The owner made sure that we feel at home. Nice environment.
We had a great time and rested. It was easy for grandma to move with her push wheels. The place to stay in Marlothpark.
Kruger River Villas-Motombo will definitely be booked by us again. We took guests there from London. They were highly impressed by the facilities and the scenery. Very close to Kruger National Park. Very good facilities - just mirrors in bedrooms would have been very nice. Will definitely recommend to friends.
Very satisfied with Mtombo. The place is beautiful and well equipped. The owner provided good service when the guest finished and we saw a lot of wildlife in Marloth Park. The place is nice and private with a nice little pool to cool off in. Will definitely stay there again!
The accommodation was clean and neat.
The house was ill equipped. Like no dishing up spoons, no vegetables peeler, kettle never worked properly as well as toaster. For the price I would have expected the place to be serviced. The place needs a good clean up and maybe painted out. The bedding was clean. The gas worked well.
All the amenities you needed in the home and mosquito nets were welcome! Near the Kruger Park and you could walk to the fence of the Kruger Park on the river and see the animals all hours of the day. We heard the hippos and lions call at night. Every morning when you look out, you see an animal and they walk by all day and night. Great restaurant overlooking the river with really good food. Can't wait to visit again!
It is conveniently located for the Kruger park and area, a bit concerned about safety.
We stay in Marloth Park quite often and know many of the places well. Mtombo was really very neat, clean and a pleasant house, especially with small children. Louise was very helpful and friendly. The kitchen is well-equipped with everything you need and more. Will definitely go stay there again with our children. I'd recommend it to anyone.
I would recommend it.
You feel so close to your Creator in the woods, lots of wildlife and beautiful surroundings. The house is beautiful.
A very nice and well appointed place. Everything you need is there and if you need something there are enough places nearby where you can buy all your necessities. The house is neat, clean and very spacious.
Excellent, had a great time.
Unfortunately, certain aspects of cleaning the place had been left behind. Cobwebs could be seen everywhere in the main building, in the room downstairs and in the kitchen. The room's exterior, roof inside the room and the bathroom were creepy full of spider nests ─ this is totally unacceptable. Basic maintenance is not done. Some of the screens in front of the windows are broken and some of the others cannot move. The security gate at the front door needs fixing as well as the large doors leading to the porch. The braai falls far short and is not sufficient to make food for six people, maybe for two. I would recommend putting in air conditioning for visitors in the summer.
No steak knives available, no casserole for meat, no proper salad spoons or spoons to dish up. Just the necessary cutlery. No mirrors and plug together in the rooms for ladies to do hair. Non existent braai, you need to build a braai with the bricks lying around.
Everything was neat and clean and Louise goes out of her way to help where she can.
I really liked the place, especially the fact that it is well equipped for 3 couples. I also liked that the animals came so close and also that the river was so close.
