28 guests' feedbackThe house is so beautiful, with everything you might need for a tranquil and relaxing time away with friends or family. The dam nearby was so serene, the location is absolutely beautiful and the staff was super friendly. Definitely a hidden gem.
We really had a great time and the environment and house were really just what you need. We have no complaints, just a few suggestions though. It would be good if you could remove the cobwebs that are so obvious and if there are TVs in the 2 rooms, please take care. that it works! It is also possible to invest in a large umbrella for outside, there is nowhere to sit in a cool place during the day.
Our stay was very nice. Fresh air. Beautiful sky, sunrise and sunset. Rooms were very nice with air conditioning. The cleaning staff were very helpful and efficient. The game drive vehicle seemed overpriced to use, in my opinion. Load shedding is a problem as there is only one light that can be used. There is also no water during load shedding as the water pumps are not working. This is quite inconvenient.
Environment of the forest aspect is incredibly beautiful and the time with family is always precious. But the Lodge itself is not up to standard. No cleaners were there, as indicated. Water geyser overflowed and there were no services provided that could fix it. Braai place was dirty and ashes were just thrown behind the braai and not in the ashtray. There is a whole list of things I could mention that I feel are really not up to standard for that price. It's usually the fine details that make you come back to a place.
The lady at the hotel restaurant at the lodge was deeply unhelpful when we arrived at the wrong lodge due to a misunderstanding at the gate. The map supplied was not to scale at all so almost impossible to decipher. Would help if you shared a location pin with guests. Makes it easier to find. . Beautiful lodge, peaceful surroundings. We had a wonderful time. WiFi password not provided. TV didn't work. No candles when we had loadshedding and hadn't thought to take any. Probably worth telling guests to bring candles and torches.
The house has a nice built-in braai, boma area, lovely kitchen and stunning rooms. We were able to enjoy the views of a nearby dam which drew game and we went for a lovely game drive with the game viewer. We did, however, feel that there are some basic maintenance and attention needed. It is an 8-sleeper, but there are only 6 chairs around the table. Basic items were missing from the cutlery drawer, such as a wine bottle opener, working scissors and sharp knives. More than one of the camping chairs for the boma outside is broken and worn, and the game viewer’s lights and windscreen wipers are not in full working condition. We cleaned up after ourselves, so when the domestic worker came in to clean, we were all right for the moment but asked that she return a little later. She never came back. All-in-all it was a wonderful stay, and Monica was very good with communication and helpful; it seems like the owners haven’t been there for a while and might not be aware of the small details and missing items that would’ve made our stay even better.
Very pleasant setup, but neglected. 8-Sleeping unit with only 6 chairs at dining table. Drain clogged. Walls dirty, fridge broken, too few glasses of certain types.
The house and location are worth your money. The service from both Monica and housekeeper was really a downfall. Communication not so good. The house needs a lot of attention in terms of cleanliness. If not monitored, the pool might also deteriorate. Make sure you arrive before it gets dark, otherwise you will get lost. Owner needs to also provide clear signs/directions to the house within the estate. We got lost and found ourselves at Ditholo Lodge, requested directions at the reception, and to our surprise the lady by the name of "Pedro" said she has never heard of "Kudu Lodge". By the way, the house is a 5-minute drive from there. We enjoyed the house and self-driven game drive. Thank you Kudu.
We had a great time at Kudu Lodge. Everything looks exactly like the photos - it's luxurious, clean, tidy and well maintained. The lodge is so well appointed and I would definitely recommend it. I would not suggest renting the game vehicle in its current condition.
Would love to go again.
The location is great and so are the facilities. Rooms are very neat and clean - would return any time.
We had such a great time! Everything was so convenient, you literally only had to take your clothes and food! Everything is there! Lize was so helpful and Johnathan who looks after the lodge is so cute!
We enjoyed the weekend tremendously as a family. The dishwashing machine, Nespresso machine, ice machine, pool table, game drive vehicle, bush and boma area definitely added value to our getaway. Rooms are modern, neat and clean. Monica goes the extra mile for her guests.
It was a very nice visit, clean and tidy rooms and also a well-equipped kitchen with all the necessary accessories ─ the area is very forested and very quiet, it was a nice getaway.
We really enjoyed the very quiet, peaceful woodland environment in the beautiful house. The private spacious en-suite bedrooms with very luxurious bathrooms are fantastic. There are often goats and even giraffes that visit the house. We had a lot of fun walking and cycling. Note that you can only drive around in the house's game viewer and this is an extra R1200 per day. The game viewer wasn't working while we were there so we were limited to the bikes for getting around.
The lodge is nice, but needs attention. The bathroom in the main building's toilet leaks and emits an unpleasant smell. The cleaning services were very disappointing, they washed dishes and walked. Never cleaned floors or rooms, and never changed towels, we were there 5 days. The grass around the lodge has grown up to the lodge, it only leaves room on the deck and unfortunately does not look like the photos. No wood was provided, everything was lying outside on arrival and was soaking wet with rain. There were also a lot of cobwebs on arrival and it looks like places had not been cleaned for a long time. The vehicle was also only in working condition, but very dirty. The lodge is nice but could be much better.
Neat with everything you need. Game that walks up to the house and rooms. The game drive was a highlight for everyone. Highly recommended!
We had an amazing time, the lodge is very well appointed and very comfortable. Very clean and luxurious. The caretaker went out of his way so we could just rest. The game drive vehicle was a big plus, it is in good condition, and we had a lot of fun exploring the bushveld. The location is fantastic, a beautiful view of the bushveld and a small pond from the veranda, all the rooms and the boma. The owners are also very friendly and helpful and know how to rent out a lodge. We received very good service. Would go back anytime or recommend.
Wonderful house, rooms are separate and private with nice forest view. Nice bathrooms with shower and bath. Hanging and living area in the middle. Nice view. Lize was professional and helped us so nicely.
See stars.
Nature, animals, accommodation everything was so perfect.
Stunning and neat place. We had a great stay and will go back.
What a pleasant stay! We had a wonderful time, pool was sparkling clean, loved the huge showers. Saw plenty of wildlife, would definitely visit again soon.
A fantastic lodge. Everything your heart desires and more. Didn't want to go home, 5 stars!
Everything that was advertised was there! No need to drive out of the lodge. The ice machine was a winner, as it was quite hot during the day. Thank you, Lize, for the hands-on involvement whenever needed. Special thank you to Jonathan, very friendly and humble guy, he was there daily to assist us with anything we required.
We had a very good time and will definitely stay there again. Rooms are beautiful en had everything that you need. The pool was great and the game often came to visit us at our bedroom door. Ice-maker and patio umbrella was broken, but Lize sorted out the problem quickly. The game drives was a highlight. Loved it!
It was incredibly neat, beautiful, excellent service and perfect location. Will definitely come again.
Kudu Lodge, Ditholo Wildlife Estate is exactly as the pictures shown on the website, very beautiful and clean. Thank you to Jonathen and Lize who took great care of us.
