A home away from home.
Everything is in another class - from the reservation in advance, the arrangements for meals, our preferences, etc. The loveliness of the farm, the tasteful interior and the cleanliness and beauty of everything. We had a great time and really appreciated the friendly staff's undivided attention. It was an unforgettable overnight stay in an idyllic place with lovely people. The chef spoiled us with mouth-watering dishes and if we didn't already have reservations at other places, we would have wanted to stay here for the whole long weekend. We will definitely visit again.
Everyone in our group loved the place and the hospitality was on a 100%. I loved the fact that they take pride in giving the best stay. No sugar coating, God bless!

Couldn't have asked for better accommodation. We were so surprised. The service and accommodation was incredibly beautiful and the surroundings. This really is a jewel.
We really enjoyed the weekend. Everything was tasteful, the service exceptional. The staff went out of their way to make us comfortable. The scenery is beautiful. Food was also very good. We will return for sure.
Enjoyed it a lot. We were practically alone there. Just think if there was a large group of other people there, single couples would feel a bit uncomfortable where we stayed because the rooms are one unit, but I didn't see the rest of the facilities, just the one place. Receptionist goes out of her way to help. Thank you very much.
Really enjoyed the stay there (regardless of the loadshedding and rain which was out of their control). It's a fair distance from Bergville and 18 km of dirt road, but it's very beautiful there and we had a great meal and relaxed. The hospitality is something to write home about!
It's a very beautiful place and really special. The dinner which is paid extra for is served without any choices for the guests, for the amount it is quite unusual. The mattresses are really not up to the standard of the place. The service should get more attention for the amounts one pays.

The staff, as well as the owner and his wife of Kwaggashoek, went out of their way to make you feel welcome and at home. The sunset at the manatee watering hole was the highlight of the weekend! We went for a nice walk and enjoyed nature! We asked for the self-catering unit and were aware of the kitchen we had to share. The hunters we shared it with were not very pleasant. They smoked, drank and cursed in the living area and kitchen, it was bad for us. They also made noise and sang until late in the morning. Furthermore, there have been no complaints.

Where could one experience such a warm heartfelt reception other than at Kwaggashoek Game Ranch? My wife Yvonne and myself were met on our arrival at Kwaggashoek with the most welcome reception that included hugs and kisses as if we were long lost relatives. Note, this was the first time we ever set foot there. It was not only senior management and staff that portrayed this level of hospitality, but the caretakers of the chalets, gardeners and even the labourers illustrated typical love and warmth. The mealtimes that we attended, breakfast and dinner were exemplary, furnished in typical cordon bleu style, delectable but more than ample to satisfy the hungry. During the two nights and three days we were privileged to experience true South African warmth and hospitality to the extent that we were saddened to leave. If it was not for the fact that we had a prior engagement, we would have opted to extend our time at Kwaggashoek Game Ranch. I would like to convey my thanks to all the staff at Kwaggashoek for the memorable time we spent with you who I now consider as my extended family, and can assure you that I will be back as soon as time allows.

We had a nice stay in a peaceful environment with friendly and helpful owners and staff who makes you feel at home by communicating in Afrikaans or English. The indoor braai in the chalet was a popular facility which was used well. We will definitely be returning.
Would like to return in winter. Had a great stay. Staff are pleasant and can communicate with everyone and makes you feel comfortable. Dinner was very good but the menu can maybe be reconsidered (guests should be able to choose between red meat and white meat since not everyone eat red meat or chicken - give them a choice - but otherwise the food was prepared very nicely). Thank you.
We only stayed there for one night. The accommodation was fully equipped with everything that you need. The people were friendly and helpful. We will do it again without thinking twice. Quiet and tranquil, exactly what you want to experience in the bush.

Kwaggashoek is a wonderfully warm and hospitably run establishment. The hosts go to much effort to cater to your every need. The setting is tranquil. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The hospitality at Kwaggashoek is unbeatable! It's comfortable and peaceful. We enjoyed breakfast and delicious dinners outside on the stoep, with a beautiful view and tame nyalas coming to visit. This is a real soul rest.

It was very nice to be able to enjoy your drinks on the stoep while the wildlife passed in front of you. The room with a view is recommended so insist on it when you make the reservation. It's very neat and has a bar and restaurant. The R74 road has recently been tarred, so it makes the trip very comfortable.
Accommodation was exceptional! It was nice and quiet and the staff was friendly.
We rested and relaxed wonderfully. Extremely friendly staff, top quality beds, furniture was newly reupholstered and everything was very tastefully decorated. There are two dogs, Bees and Trompie, but they are very well behaved and well cared for. It was a lovely weekend.
The rooms are spacious and the service very good. We really enjoyed the seclusion! The accommodation and the service were top notch, the only criticism was that the rooms did not have air conditioning. What we enjoyed most was the seclusion and the scenery with the wildlife roaming the premises. They could do a little more with the dinners; it was nice, but red meat would be nice!
The farm is located in a very beautiful part of the northern Drakensberg. It is a working game tile farm that still gives the impression of a reserve. A very nice lodge with excellent accommodation and dining facilities. Great experience for a long weekend!

I booked at Kwaggashoek for 3 nights expecting much more than we received. You are confined to the property and cannot walk anywhere. The pool is very small for accommodating the number of guests that are catered for. The bar is like a Natural Science museum with stuffed animals everywhere. We left after 2 nights. If you want to sit on your butt and do nothing, this is the place. The birding is good. Self-catering is a communal kitchen. There is also only one braai at the self-catering area, so book it early .
The location, accommodation, hospitality and meals are simply top notch. Absolutely beautiful place. We will go again.
Lovely stay in a beautiful environment. The food was delicious and customer service very good. The walk to the waterfall and game drive was a lovely bonus. We thoroughly enjoyed the weekend.
A beautiful location in the middle of nature. Friendly welcome. The wild animals walk by your window and in the garden. So beautiful. Only downside is the long gravel road to the ranch. But then you also have what!
This is a place you go if you need peace and quiet. it is away from the busy life and close to nature. You are forced to turn to your "inner self" and find yourself again and also look at the people around you with new eyes.
The stay was pleasant, but a few things that would have made the experience better: the chalet is far from the reception and restaurant and complimentary coffee in the chalet would have been welcome. I specifically chose the place for nature (silence), but the dogs next door broke the silence quite permanently (don't know if they might belong to the people who work there).
It is a pleasant stay. Note that there are no air conditioners or roof fans. Lovely deck overlooking the valley, pond and mountain with various animals roaming around.
