97 guests' feedbackVery nice stay in Dassie unit. Everything you need is there. It was wonderful to drive around the farm and see all the animals. There are tables and chairs everywhere on the farm where you can sit and enjoy the view of the farm and surroundings. The giraffes with their new baby were always nearby where we could see them from the Dassie unit. The chickens, peacock and birds keep you company all day. All the dams had water in them and we could park and have a nice walk around too. We will definitely come back again. Staff are also all very nice. Wi-Fi, free crate of wood with blitz, donated wine are all very nice. Tarred road to their gate and good road on the farm to drive.
Very nice stay and such a peaceful place. And all the animals were really something to experience.
This place is incredible. Beautiful view, with farm life around you. The cottage is amazing and the hot tub is a blessing. Loved every moment.
Very nice place upon our arrival. Children enjoyed the "game self drive" on the farm. Fishing in the pond was also nice. Quiet and away from town.
Tranquility, beautiful views, adventures for children, country hospitality. The accommodation at Kwetu Guest Farm is fully equipped and the hot tub is a lovely bonus. The children could play outside to their heart's content and it was such an adventure for them to be on a farm among the wild animals.
Our new favorite place! Very neat, something for everyone to do. Excellent service with extras you can arrange. The picnic was particularly nice! Beautiful environment!
Thank you for the lovely break, everything is tidy and so peaceful. I recommend it.
Comfortable facilities, beautiful surroundings and a real experience is the only way to sum up our one-night stay. We were kindly received and the few arrangements regarding our unit and the use of the site were explained to us. The unit had everything that was needed and the nice barbecue right by the door was a big plus later in the evening. The individual goats, ostriches and blue wildebeest were already special, but the two camels that came to eat close to the unit in the bushes took the crown. We will definitely visit there again!
Had an amazing time at Kwetu. The idea was just to find a place to sleep for the night on the way to Cape Town. What a pleasant time - we went to see how the giraffes are fed, and there are many other animals on the farm too - various goats, wildebeest, ostriches, horses, poultry. It was wonderful to barbecue with the field and animals in front of us. It's literally a stone's throw from the N2 turnoff at the Buffeljags BP - we were back on the road early the next morning.
Wonderful stay, 10 out of 10 for the owners!
Absolutely amazing! The cost is a bit more than we normally pay for accommodation but you immediately see what you are paying for. The quality of bedding and towels is top notch and the house is so homey, we didn't miss a thing! Windows everywhere so seeing the wild around you all the time is a gorgeous experience. Can't wait to go again.
Friendly service and very nice location.
Friedel is an absolute gem. Friendly staff. Very clean and tranquil. Plenty of animals. Kids would love it. Small pond to catch fish. Close to town.
Wonderfully quiet and peaceful!
The host was very friendly and took us with him when he went to feed the animals. It is very quiet and peaceful. Just wasn't very impressed with my stay as it wasn't what I booked.
Very pleasant one day stay, with beautiful nature.
The visit at Kwetu Guest Farm was excellent, although a bit short. In one night's stay we enjoyed the game drive and caught some fish in the pond. We were warmly received and well looked after. The rooms were clean and met all our needs. We had a great time.
We were welcomed very kindly and immediately felt at home. The stay in the Gazelle Double Room was wonderful for us, especially to open the curtains in the morning and stare at the animals (giraffes, sables, wildebeests, springboks and ibex). Since there is no signal, it is great to be able to switch off from the busy outside world and relax properly. The location is also fantastic - close to Swellendam if you want to visit the town, as well as a few minutes away from Oude Post Bistro which makes and sells delicious grilled cakes fresh with various fillings. We will definitely visit Kwetu again.
Wonderful location. Enjoy seeing animals. Lovely to walk!
Kwetu guest farm is an amazing place to experience wildlife in a beautiful setting close to wildlife. Service was superb with a friend's caring host who provided great hospitality and advice. Kwetu is a great place to explore Swellendam and the surrounding areas. We will definitely book Kwetu again.
Beautiful farm, lovely hosts, amazing hospitality.
Special thanks to Uncle Willie and Aunt Jean for your incredible hospitality and information regarding Kwetu and the animals. Thank you for the privilege of being able to see the "baby" giraffe up close. Will never forget it.
Amazing stay at this relaxing guest house.
Reception was friendly and painless. Room is clean and comfortable. They welcome driving and hiking on the farm to view wildlife. Wonderful experience.
It was just for the night as a stop over. It was very pleasant and made it a nice breaking point for a trip to Kasouga in the Eastern Cape.
Nice selection of game roaming the areas in and around the accommodation.
Our accommodation was upgraded at no charge. Many types of animals/goats on the farm. Restful. Internet access was not stable, so no TV reception.
Willie invited us along when he went to feed the animals in the late afternoon. It was an unforgettable experience!
Had a weekend break. Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed. The outdoor hot tub was already fired. Beautiful scenery. Only one negative part was we were there in cold weather and the geyser didn't work so we didn't have hot water to shower at all. Will go again in summer time.
Peaceful and relaxing.
The whole farm is very neat and it's nice to watch the wildlife. We were in one of the rooms attached to the house. Lace curtains would have offered more privacy.
The animals are the best! We had a wonderful time relaxing and grilling. A bit tight, but we fit.
Loved the wildlife around the house, especially the giraffes!
Kwetu is a must visit getaway. Communication is very good and the accommodation and farm are beautiful. The freedom for the children to be able to play and get so close to the animals is fantastic. The horse that came on our porch to eat apples and the giraffes that walked around the house were WOW! It almost feels like we've been away for a week, even if it was only a weekend. Nicely rested. Everything needed is there. Only thing that put me off a bit is the cobwebs and daddy longlegs in every corner, but otherwise no complaints. Will definitely want to visit Kwetu again.
Hospitable reception. Accommodation has everything needed for self-catering. The ideal place to rest. The wildlife on the farm is a bonus and we really enjoyed the wildlife viewing.
You literally feel part of the wildlife, because they just walk past your front door or when you sit at the table on the stoep. Make sure you have apples for the horses, because they will come asking. If there is a choice, stay in the Steenbok chalet because there are two swallows who will sit with you and visit in front of the TV. Definitely come back again.
Friendly reception by Sonja. It was nice to experience the silence, and also the farm sounds. It was a special experience to be able to have a picnic among the giraffes and buck species. Will definitely go again.
Sonja welcomed us warmly. Thank you Willie for the delicious sweet navels which were a nice treat. Beautiful wildlife on the farm and the view of the mountain was beautiful. Nice getaway place for a weekend.
Game roams between the houses. Pond for the children - they really enjoyed the open nature and wildlife. We had a wonderful rest.
It is so nice to be able to see the animals around your little house while you sit warm by the fireplace in the winter. The children enjoyed every moment and giving the apples to the horses was one of the highlights. You will definitely see us again. Thank you very much for the incredibly nice weekend.
Thank you so much for the most peaceful weekend ever. We got new zest for life and energy. The picnic was a feast. With the horses that came looking for company, we visited and fed treats. The wildlife and birds were so beautiful. Thank you Sonja for making us feel so important. We'll see you guys again.
The animals are a big plus. We had fun walking and driving among the animals. Also had a nice picnic while we looked at the animals.
We had a lovely time. Awesome view. Awesome animals all over the property. Very comfy beds and linen. Everything you need. Easy drives to explore the area. Friendly welcome. The giraffes on the property are a definite highlight. Thanks again.
We can recommend Kwethu. Was excellent. Everything was very neat and was received kindly.
Excellent location and all the necessary facilities to relax wonderfully while the variety of animals graze peacefully around you. The cottages are fully equipped (nice big fridge/freezer) and we lacked nothing. Our dogs were together and they enjoyed the interaction with the animals as much as we did.
Kwetu is very nicely located, with good service and very nice units. Really enjoyed the stay!
We had a wonderful stay at Kwetu Guest farm. The farm is very beautiful and the cottage was very clean and comfortable. Sonja was a gracious host and we will definitely be back again.
Ideal place to press the reset button.
The giraffes' early morning visits to our Rheebok cottage were a highlight for our children.
Just wanted to say thank you for a wonderful experience. One really switches off as soon as one hits the Kwetu gates. I will highly recommend this stay to get away from the hustle & bustle of the city. Once again thanks for a wonderful stay.
If you want to rest, Kwetu is definitely the place. It is a beautiful place in Swellendam. You see giraffes moving around your house. You see all kinds of goats you can think of. Sonja's hospitality was top notch. We will definitely see Kwetu again.
We really enjoyed the stay at Kwetu. Well appointed accommodation units. The view from the balcony was beautiful and it was so nice to experience the animals around you. It was lovely and peaceful, nice to hear a rooster crow.
We enjoyed it so much will definitely go again.
The house is tastefully decorated, very neat and clean. We had a very enjoyable weekend and would love to return.
The animals around us were an absolute bonus. Beautiful scenery and a peaceful environment with the most beautiful sunset. Is recommended.
Kwetu is of course very well located as a base for exploring the area. It's only a few hours' drive from Agulhas and De Hoop Nature Reserve. Of course not to mention the history-rich Swellendam. But its greatest asset is the friendly owners and incredible tranquility that one can experience by just sitting quietly on the veranda while wildebeest, springbok, giraffes, etc. graze around you.
Great wild life experience: sabels, waterbokke, giraffes, wildebeeste, kudu's. We felt like family and were sad to leave. Our children had a great experience and were involved in feeding the animals with Willie, I love the fact that fun and education went hand in hand. Jean his wife, is the kindest granny I've ever met and her home made rusks are to die for. Good people with so much love to share. Bless them!
Our reception was friendly and hospitable. Wood and clowns are provided. We will definitely stay there again. Thank you very much.
Loved having all the animals around.
Environment is picturesque.
We really enjoyed our time. It was so relaxing with the wildlife roaming on the farm. Very nice setup.
The only criticism I would say is that the outdoor grill is a bit uncomfortable. There is a grill stand that takes up the entire grill, so it's difficult to make a second fire while grilling. Take that thing out and just put a triangle or something there.
Everything was stunning! We saw all the animals, had a great drive around and just relaxed.
The location is fantastic. Willie's hospitality was really appreciated and he made us feel very much at home. Lovely to drive around among the animals and just relax. Will definitely go again.
It was very delicious. Quiet to relax. Was nice to see the animals that are there. But it was very fantastic.
Kwetu pleasantly surprised us with the variety of wildlife to see, as well as the comfortable accommodation in Steenbok cottage. We will definitely go again!
The chalets are placed in such a way that it remains personal and blends in with the peaceful atmosphere of the farm and it is a good experience to get so close to the wild animals.
Great to see the animals up close.
We were very well received and had a great barbecue and the farm dogs were very cute, as well as all the animals, birds and even a frog or 2.
For this price range accommodation, you want everything to work and you don't have to struggle. Especially not on a long weekend when you just want to get away and rest after a very long week of hard work. The geyser was not working, and it seems that the management was not aware of this; so we couldn't shower in hot water, and we also had to boil water to bathe the children and ourselves. A process that took 2 hours. Furthermore, the gas stove and oven's "auto-ignition" button is not there and the pots to cook in for a family of five are very small. This was a bit of a disappointment as we travel a lot and mostly try to stay in farm stays/detached units that are self-contained as it gives our 3 boys more freedom to play. The unit is beautiful and the wildlife is an experience and we otherwise enjoyed it. The problems only detracted from our comfort of stay and I feel that maybe the unit was not really ready to host people, especially not over a long weekend.
The accommodation is spacious and comfortable, but shows all its years. There is everything in the unit that you would need for a self-catering stay. The unit was tidy, but some of the surfaces were dusty upon our arrival. The biggest negative was the plague of centipedes that descended on the unit's patio by the hundreds if not thousands. Not a word was spoken of this until our arrival on Friday evening. At that point, everyone knows it is too late to make alternative arrangements. If I had been informed of this earlier, I would certainly have looked for other accommodation. I feel the situation surrounding the worm plague was deliberately withheld from us for that particular reason.
Farm is breathtaking, staff are great, everyone is so friendly and the animals are completely visible.
The owners were very friendly and considerate. The house was very nice, tidy and comfortable, and the customer service was excellent. The children really enjoyed the weekend.
Comfortable cottage, lovely bed and the roaming animals made my day.
Many thanks to Sonja and her staff for the warm welcome and for immediately making us feel at home. The long room was perfect for our needs and well equipped. It was also special to experience the animals so close. We will definitely come again.
It was breathtakingly beautiful. Along with our morning coffee, the game came to say tomorrow.
Our family of three (our son is 10 years old) stayed in Steenbok Cottage. We encountered 2 giraffes on our way there! When we arrived, we immediately realised that it was very quiet. Behind the house is a dam and my son and I swam there the one afternoon, the water is very clean. Everything you need is there and the braai facilities with the great view is wonderful!
Kwetu is a nice place and it was a wonderful weekend. Everyone was so hospitable and friendly. The children really enjoyed it and they were sad when we had to go home again. We will see you again!
A beautiful little house, very neat inside and a very friendly, helpful welcome awaited us. Kwetu Guest Farm is close to the town, you can drive around in your car on the roads in search of animals (a car that is higher off the ground is needed). The animals walk in between the houses and in the mornings you wake up with animals around you. You experience the most beautiful sunsets and sunrises over the Langeberg mountains. This is a WOW place and we will definitief come back again!
Beautiful chalets, well equipped with a beautiful view of the Overberg. WiFi connection was on and off and could improve.
We as a family really enjoyed the 2 days at Kwetu Guest Farm. The horses came right up to our little house. Boys could stroke horses from the porch. Boys also enjoyed jogging on the farm. On Saturday we drove through the farm saw a lot of wildlife including the 2 giraffes. On Saturday evening the springboks, wildebeest etc. dedicated in front of our house. Very relaxing, well appointed cottages. Reception was very friendly and we received a bag of free snacks. The free WiFi was also a nice surprise for the boys. Would definitely recommend Kwetu, a bonus is that it's just over 2 hours from Cape Town.
If you get up and stand wildly in front of your porch, then you have already lived! What an experience of freedom and nature where you move in their space and find yourself sitting and staring at wildlife for hours. It is an experience I will never forget.
See stars.
The unit had all you need and we could sit on the stoep and braai and watch the wild animals. We really enjoyed the dam, walked around, jogged on the farm and drove some routes with our car to view the game - no bakkie needed. The kids really enjoyed the lawn around the unit.
Beautiful animals seen on morning walk. Close to N2. Excellent quality!
I just want to thank Adele and her family on behalf of myself and my traveling companions for an incredibly interesting experience we had with them in July. The house we stayed in is tastefully furnished and the facilities are of high quality. We were surprised with a wild ride one night that exceeded our wildest expectations. We can definitely recommend Kwetu to anyone who prefers to stay in nature and still prefers the comfort of a self-catering unit. We will definitely visit there again.
Enjoyable and great fun for the kids around all the animals.
As a family we just want to thank Willie and his wife from the bottom of our hearts. Thanks for your hospitality and all the treats, like the game drive and dropping by at Suikerrug and dam. Stunning nature. Was wonderful to enjoy the peace and quiet and nature and the sky, to wake up with the bontebok grazing by the patio. A jewel of a place and we will definitely be back as soon as possible.
Very friendly reception. Neat and comfortably equipped. Quiet and pretty area.
To be on business for that week was as if I was on holiday, soulfood. Could use my running shoes, see wild animals early morning, the customer service was so hospitable, felt like family and for business the WiFi reception was top notch.
I'd easily recommend. More affordable than the Western Cape National Parks for similar accommodation with game in the area. Doesn't feel like the African Bush, but the various antelope species area beautiful and the sunsents over the moutains and the enterior are stunning! Neat units, thoroughly equipped with everything you need at this rate. Close enough to the Buffelsjagsrivier Garage and Swellendam if you need anything.
Beautiful, quiet area. Houses neat with all necessities for self-catering. Wildlife on the farm is exceptional. You can do mountain biking there.
What a beautiful place! We stayed in Steenbok cottage which was amazing. The decor was lovely and the cottage was spotless. Well thought out in terms of the use of space inside the cottage and the position of the braai area was perfect to take in the gorgeous mountain views as well as the game grazing nearby. Plenty of dry braai wood and we were given drinking water and milk. The hosts Michel and Adelle were wonderful as were their kids! We will definitely be back again.
We really enjoyed our stay there. All the basic stuff is there. Nice to recharge your batteries.
