Kyki-C was a neat, peaceful place. We enjoyed it very much. The best part is the walking distance to the sea. Will definitely want to go again.
So close to the beach. Apartment was very clean. Marelise, the hostess was super friendly and very welcoming. The premises is equipped with a perimeter alarm so we felt very safe whilst inside. They also accommodate for load shedding with emergency light, gas stove and cooking equipment. Fireplace also heated the apartment well given we arrived in winter. Enjoyed our stay! Would definitely come back. Was sceptical about the rooms from the images, but they look way better in person. 9/10 would recommend this place. Would rate it a full 10 if the Wi-Fi was faster and if they had streaming service on their TV and not just DStv.
The stay was great. 2-minute walking distance from the beach. WiFi was a bit slow. But everything was amazing. We tripped the alarm by accident and they responded in record time. Definitely a place I'll recommend and definitely a place I'd visit again.
In this price range, there are few places where you can sleep at night and hear the sea in the background. You are about 50 meters from a beach, a stone's throw from shops, and just as close to great fishing spots. You are an hour out of Cape Town but it just feels like another world. Excellent stay. You have everything you need.
Amazing with a beautiful view.
The weekend was wonderful, but the owner was there the whole weekend. We were rushed to be out of the house and she threatened to call law enforcement because the music, but we were told we could listen to music until 11 o'clock, just not too loud. The neighbors also played music, but it was louder than our music. On Friday the music was a problem, but on Saturday there wasn't a problem? I do not understand.

Not nice. Place is not nice and clean. Had to clean balcony first. The braai is dilapidated and dirty.
We enjoyed our stay. Marelize was a perfect host, very kind and willing to assist. The only issue would be the stairs and they were unsafe when there was wind blowing as well. I travelled with my mom and kids aged 7 and 5, it was difficult to move luggage and groceries in. Alarm system was perfect as well. Only scored low for safety for the staircase. For upgrading they could also use aircons and wifi as it was not available. But overall it was satisfactory.
The place has a wonderful view. It was wonderful to be able to have the view every day. The communication about the alarm was not well conveyed. We stayed there for 15 days and our sheets and towels were never replaced. There was also a problem because we received guests. The owner said she was an unpaid guest. She didn't sleep over, just hung out for a while and drove again. She was also our only transport to take us somewhere.
Had a great time, value for money. Indoor grill needs some attention, but the rest you need is there.

If you are looking for rest, then this is the place because there is not much to do in the area, it is suitable if you want to be a few steps from the beach and just have a peaceful holiday. Having a fantastic view of the sea and its proximity to it was the most enjoyable. The place had everything we needed, the quiet location was refreshing.
We highly recommend this facility. Our host, Marelize was supper efficient and helpfull before and during our stay. She went out of her way to assist and accommodate us even before we arrived. Top class service Marelize! The place is well kitted out for an away from home weekend. We only wish we could use more of the facility however our stay was too short. Will definitely be back there sometime soon.
The facility is situated in a nice area which was close to the Saldanha dorp, freeway to Vredenburg and Langebaan and walking distance to the beach. The facility is fully equipped with all amenities required and you just have to take food and clothing.
Centrally located with a good view over part of the sea. The beach is very nice and we could walk far without problems at high tide. The accommodation is well equipped for 4 people.
The area is safe. The place clean. Customer service is excellent. Definitely recommend it to my friends and family.

Just a lot of rubbish lying everywhere. The apartment meets everything that is needed. Just a little dirty - the floors and under the beds hadn't been cleaned in a very long time.

The lady owner is very friendly, warm, welcoming. She made sure we know where is everything that we might need in town. Her accommodation is homely. My family had a great time and will definitely recommend it to family, friends and colleagues.

We had to make a special drive to buy dishwashing soap. Only 4 plates, small plates, cup. All only 4, because every time the dishes have to be washed again. Minimum utensils in the kitchen.
We had an amazing weekend. Very secure with the alarm system. Marelize was very welcoming. Very nice location on the beach as specially the view. We could play our music without any fuss. Only thing I will suggest is bring with our own dishwasher and toilet paper. But otherwise we really enjoyed ourselves. Will definitely visit Kyki - c again.
Hollow sound inside the place is very unpleasant and was already mentioned in a previous review. I think it's because of no curtains (just blinds) and no carpets. Means self-catering guests must bring their own candles and gas stove in case of load shedding. Does this mean guests must bring their own oil to oil the refrigerator and master bedroom doors that rattle. Nice view is not everything, but arrival of guests is. No tissues, flowers or something on the table or bed that welcomes you and makes you feel at home. What you do get is a writing with rules that are so blatantly handed down to you that you feel like a criminal. This was also mentioned in a previous review. Not even thank you or please. I'm sorry to mention the above, but mind you, should it be improved, I give Kyki-C 200% and Kyki-C see me again.
The place was not clean and the shower had mould on the floor. The cooker was rusty and it all needed updating inside. The agent wasn't there to greet us so I had to call her. The alarm kept going off at night.
It is near the sea. I will definitely book again as soon as possible.
I'd recommend it to any family.
Perfect unit for a family of 4 or couple looking for a getaway near the sea. Contains all the basic necessities for self-catering. You feel very safe and secure with the alarm system available. The only thing I would suggest is to bring your own toilet rolls as only one was provided for us.
The only downfall was that we even though we were away from the every day city life, we wanted to just be ourselves, it felt like we were constantly having to check the noise level if we put the music to loud or if we laugh to loud as well.
The weekend was very nice, although loadshedding claimed half of our Saturday. Will definitely visit again.
We as guests feel that it was unpleasant. No other form of payment was allowed or delayed because deposit had already been paid and the balance had to be paid immediately. No arrangements would be accepted balance was requests to pay cash. No receipt issued.

Kyki-C is definitely worth the money for me and I would definitely want to stay there again. The stand is very close and nice and quiet. It was lovely to sit on the balcony and look out over the sea.
We were received very friendly and we were informed of everything very nicely. The apartment is fully equipped for 4 guests and the location and view of the ocean is beautiful. Nice porch to enjoy a cocktail and gaze over the ocean. Quiet area in a cul-de-sac, almost no traffic. Just keep in mind that there are a few stairs in the hallway from the apartment.
The only fault I can find is that only one roll of toilet paper was provided for a family of 4 for a whole week. Most of the light bulbs didn't work, and no heating was provided. But we worked around this and just bought our own, but I would have preferred to know upfront that these items were not provided. The location is lovely, right on the beach.

I have stayed in Saldanha before and had more or less an idea where it is located and is central and close to everything yet far enough to enjoy the peace and quiet. My parents and I went through. Attending my youngest son and my parents' grandson's 21st birthday. Really worth it and would recommend it for sure.
Nice place, clean, easy to find, heavenly view of the sea, very peaceful and quiet. We broke away to prepare for our final exams and do research, but to our dismay we had to spend a lot of money on data purchases because the free Wi-Fi didn't work! Marilize, our hostess, explained that when 2 large ships dock at Saldanha's iron ore port, the reception is poor. After we couldn't get the WiFi to work we just bought data and didn't have any problems with the network so that was a bit of a disappointment.

I made a big mistake somewhere in that our 3 guests should actually have been 4. However, when I spoke to Wilna the owner she came to meet me as there is enough accommodation. After the conversation with Anita the letting agent I was told that bed linen and towels will be provided. What was extremely strange when we arrived I had to pay R80 for a double bed and R60 each for single beds' bedding because water is expensive. I also had to pay R80 for key deposit. Fortunately, my wife and I were able to scrape together the cash. Nowhere on the Kyki-C page online is this indicated. So I had to pay R280 extra. I would get the key deposit back and sent my bank details after a conversation with Wilna. Is this standard practice? Shouldn't guests be informed of extra rates?
We have already been to Kyki C before. Compared to the previous occasions, the general cleanliness of the place has decreased a lot. Something will really have to be done about it. It's generally very quiet there. If the cleanliness is improved, the place is once again a clod thistle tree.
What bothered us more than the "not so clean" flat, was the fact that we were treated as criminals. When we stopped there, our vehicle registration number was first written down before we were greeted. Then, after we received the keys (for which we had to pay a deposit) and entered the flat, we saw that the second room was locked. It was explained to us that, as we are only 2 guests, they had to lock the second room. It was decided FOR us that we had to share the one room, we were never asked if it was acceptable for us to share one room. I guess they wanted to make sure that we do not bring along some more guests, really! Then, soon after we arrived, we were continuously asked for the proof of payment for the rest of the amount. We already paid for 6 of the 10 days and only asked for time to quickly go to the shop before they closed. Still we received continuous requests. After all these were sorted out and after I cleaned the flat myself, we enjoyed the vacation.
We had a great stay. The place was clean and neat. Was nice to rent bedding and did not have to take any whith. Good value for money.
We had one of the most incredible weekends. The whole build up and arrival alone was out of the books. The reception of Tannie Mariana unforgivable. The first step into the house made one feel comfortable and at home. It's clean and very neat. The atmosphere is just as comfortable. The view, morning air and the sound of the sea in the background are the icing on the cake. I recommend "Kyki-C" to everyone. The gem of a place will see me again sooner or later and just about every year if it depends on me. And on the contrary, you get so much more for what you pay. Thank you Aunt Mariana.

We we're looking for a quiet and convenient place to celebrate our anniversary. Wilna was so nice to leave us a bottle of champagne in the fridge when we arrived. It meant a lot to us and was a pleasant surprise. It was lovely to look out over the ocean and relax on the patio. The big braai area inside was a plus, especially in winter. Mariana who manages the unit is also very sweet and made us feel at home. We will definitely visit them again.
The West Coast nature made us all healthy in body and mind. Other West Coast towns within reach. So nice and central. About hospitality everywhere. Nice big balcony to be able to sit and gaze over the beautiful blue waters which makes it so relaxing.

The place was clean and very comfortable and nice close to the sea. I slept peacefully and my family was always safe.
There is no hot water when you want to shower because the geyser is only turned on for an hour every day. We asked to keep it longer, but we were refused. We were on top of that we were 4 people and only one person could shower with hot water. (The days we were there it was cool so geyser cooled down quickly). Place was extremely dirty when we got there. We were told that if you go out the place must be clean, otherwise the deposit will be taken to clean the place and then the woman will "spring clean" the whole apartment and bed linen will be washed as well. Apartment was full of dog hair everywhere you look (floors, sofas, beds, in the sink even). It took us cleaning the place first before we could move our things in. Fireplace in the apartment was not even cleaned, still full and just as dirty as the previous people had left it. Linen was full of dirty spots and rock hard. Had to hang wet towels in the place because it looks ugly when the laundry is hanging outside. There wasn't even enough room to hang the towels in the apartment. Our stuff later started to smell musty because it didn't dry and had to throw the stuff away and buy new ones. (We asked if we could use the washing line behind the house, but we were refused.) We all went shopping the first morning, so that we had food for the weekend and did not clean up before we drove e.g. didn't make the beds, when we came back the hostess told us we had to clean up the place if we wanted to go out. She doesn't want to stare into a dirty place when she gets to the first floor. Here's the problem: the ground floor and first are separate from each other. We stayed on the first floor. We used the outside stairs to get to the first floor, but there are stairs on the inside of the house that are separated by a door (which she has the key for to get into the place). This means we had no privacy while staying there. In the letter of agreement we signed, it says we must be quiet after 10:00 p.m., but the woman there's TV or radio or something played rock hard throughout the night and day when she was there. Sometimes we couldn't even hear each other, it was so noisy with her. Just want to say I'm not exaggerating at all. It's a nice place to stay, but they definitely need to get their attitude and amenities behind them. The woman who lives there says she is the owner of the house, but not the owner either, someone else is the owner (doesn't understand it so well).
