For a more independent stay, guests might prefer one of the many spacious villas that line the cobbled streets, all luxuriously furnished with the finest finishing touches. Each villa comes with a fully equipped, designer kitchen.

Funiki, Franschhoek's only Japanese cuisine and sushi eatery, is proudly owned and managed by Kiyomasu Deon Sensei. At Funiki, guests can experience the pleasant and delightful sight and sounds of Old Japan in the expression of simplicity, sophistication, spontaneity, originality and ambience.

We stayed for a week. The place was neat and clean and the breakfast was one of the highlights. There is a nice pool and the service was excellent.

Beurtkrag sours the circumstances because they are not equipped for it. No lunch/dinners could be provided. Due to the holiday season, all the restaurants were already fully booked. We relied on L'Ermitage's restaurant but unfortunately could not be provided with meals which is a shame.

The staff was so helpful and professional. Our room has rained in, and the staff as well as the management apologised for this inconvenience, and have moved us to another room. They even provided us with afternoon platters to indulge. We were treated like kings and queens, even the transport we organised. Thank you L'Ermitage Franschhoek Chateau & Villas.

L'Ermitage Franschhoek Chataeu & Villas looked really nice to me on the website, but seeing the place is just amazing. It feels like you are in a small town somewhere in France. The gardens are stunning, the view out of another world. Inside it is very, very beautiful and the staff are very helpful and speak Afrikaans.

I would recommend any couple, friends or family to book in at the L'Ermitage any day, winter or summer. The service was superb. We were treated with such love and it felt as if I was at my family home with friends. Staff - what a great job and the breakfast was great. 4 star!

We booked 3 villa rooms. One double and 2 single. On arrival there was only 1 double room booked. No one could understand what had become of the discussion. Fortunately, I took all my received emails with me. The 2 single persons (male and female) had to share a room the first night. The next day one of them was given a separate room. Light bulbs were blown. Had to ask for toilet paper, towels and bath soap.

"Beautiful place, but they're not well managed"

L'Ermitage is beautifully located and the rooms have very generous proportions and are quite luxurious. However, the other memories of the stay were rather disappointing, especially for a 4-star place: the private pool worked only on the last day (after reminding the reception every day and receiving no progress reports), the bedroom had an unbearable smell of moisture and old smoke, the breakfast was marked by a daily fight for cutlery, coffees and literally every single thing on the buffet (thanks to complete under staffing). Also, the reception charged us extra money, due to errors on the system. Due to this, I definitely wouldn't go back.
