The place was great, they just don't offer firewood so you do need to get that yourself as the place is very cold in winter.
We were a group of 2 adults, 2 teenagers and 3 children. The stoep was very nice for barbecuing and playing games and the unit was well furnished. We did have a problem with the television not working, but the customer service was nimble and quick and they tried to help.

A brochure indicating all the available activities in and around Clarens, especially the hiking trails and where to purchase your permit would be very helpful.

Guest houses can do more to reduce the effects of load shedding, such as e.g. light bulbs that stay on etc. La Bri had only one lamp that was not even properly charged.

Just a shame Unit 4's wooden floors creak a lot when you walk on them, as well as the steps from parking to the front door are a bit high and uneven for older people.

Our cottages were very neat and comfortable. The only suggestion I would like to make is that wardrobes are put in the rooms like in the "executive" house. There is currently enough storage space for one's clothes, that's just a personal preference. The fireplace creates a nice and peaceful atmosphere. The location is perfect and safe. It's walking distance from the shopping centers and if you fancy a morning walk the "park run" route is just down the street and the scenery is breathtaking. I will definitely book there again.

Arrival at La Bri was well organised, quickly moved into a very nice, clean and well equipped unit with nice log fire in the evenings, believe me you need it. Had a great time and well priced, would really recommend!
Everything about the unit at La Bri that we stayed in was perfect! From the pro-active responses of Lené (the administrator), the well-prepared, aired, clean unit, to the welcoming bon-bons on the bed! The unit is spacious, the view of the mountains spellbounding, and the kitchen is well-appointed with literally every single item/utensil we needed to cook demanding meals (as opposed to heat-and-eat). Safety is a given: the fence is sturdy pallisade and cleared of obstructions and the carports are very well placed. This is one of the best self-catering units I have used over the past 27 years of using self-catering units. When I said I'll be coming back it was not a joke. I will go back anytime. Just for a much longer stay next time! This time was only 4 days.

There was safe undercover parking and the accommodation was absolutely beautiful with ample space and the best mattress and pillows I have ever slept on. Just off the main road, perhaps slightly too far to walk into town, but well located. Blissfully quiet area.

This place is very nice and tidy and well located so that you can walk everywhere without much effort. Sorry about the water shortage in town through December causing the pump at the tank to turn on and off which is quite disturbing in Unit 1. I was disappointed with the daily cleaning of the cottage as we stayed there for two days. The maid indicated that she would clean the house in the morning but she didn't and the coffee and tea were not refilled, so quite a shock if you want to buy such things in the village for one morning.

Previous visits to La-bri were more pleasant. I also don't believe the feedback really makes a difference, because stuff I've mentioned before about that La-bri unit is still the same. I had to follow up with the owner myself on the day of check-in to see if everything was in order. Although I understand there is a fireplace the place smelled of smoke on arrival which wasn't the case before. I personally think the dstv can be taken out because the idea is created that there is at least reasonable access to channels that are not there.

The chalet is very tidy, staff friendly and helpful. Linen and towels changed regularly and braai cleaned. We had such a nice stay, we want to bring all our friends and family to enjoy Clarens with us and we know if we spend the night at La Bri everyone will be satisfied. Even when there was two hours of load shedding one day provision was made with gas bottles. We stayed in the Deluxe unit and it was really good accommodation. The only negative comment is that the wood can crack a lot and it can be disturbing. We really enjoyed the stay and would definitely recommend it and rent again ourselves in the future.

On photo dishwasher, take new photo of kitchen please. It's misleading. Air conditioner not working at all. Send cleaner to find out what is wrong with air conditioner. No further effort made to resolve problem, and apology made. The wooden floors and bathroom door make so much noise that everyone wakes up from the noise. At least the unit was clean and tidy. No broom and mop in unit, must collect in closet behind garage building. Back door locked, nowhere to put any tea towels, etc. not to be hung outside. Drove 600 km to relax, couldn't sleep through night due to heat. Was really happy to return home after 3 days. The water in taps was dark brown, couldn't even bathe in dirty water.

Sy het in kontak bly totdat ons in die woonbuurt was. Ek het die uitsig vanaf die stoep liefgehad! Daar is 'n braai - 'n moet vir ons ─ en die verrassing was die kaggel in die sitkamer. Gerieflike verblyf met die ongelooflike uitsigte. Beslis 'n plek om aan te beveel, en ons sal sekerlik 'n nuwe boek doen as ons weer in die omgewing is.

The wooden floors remind me of when I was still at home could not sneak out with those floors not a negative thing but a flash back to the early 80's.

We dealt with Lené from La-Bri, who followed up regularly to make sure were cared for. Upon arrival, the heaters were on and we were made to feel instantly at home. The little flatlet was clean and neat. The fireplace was cleaned out daily and the staff were friendly. I would really recommend this to anyone looking for a place to stay in Clarens.

It was nice to experience the tranquility of La Bri after a long day on the road. The reception was incredibly friendly and the house was complete, nothing was missing. Everything worked and was painfully neat, we grilled meat and had fun. It was very peaceful and we rested well.

Beautiful self-catering accommodation. With the cold winter days and nights in mind, we would have liked to have a mat to climb on next to the bed, as well as in the living room (the floors are freezing cold), and maybe also a blanket to lie on in living room on sofa as sitting and watching TV.
We really enjoyed the place and everything was as it appears online. We even extended our stay for few hours without extra charges.

La Bri is perfectly located, very tidy with a lovely porch and braai area, beautiful view and the nicest place to sleep. Lene is just beautiful and helpful. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Clarens again. I do have only 2 small recommendations, just to make it even more perfect: There should definitely be more coffee/tea and toilet paper, we ran out too much and too often and had to go and buy it ourselves. As an add-on option, it would be great if we could request that wood, blitz and ice be bought for us, for which we then pay extra on the bill. Hopefully by not too much of a margin. Other than that, it really was an amazing getaway. Thank you very much!

Our unit was clean and had all the amenities. We felt the mattresses felt a bit hard but admit that's a personal preference. Security seemed fine, palisade fence all around with electric gate. We felt close to all that Clarens had to offer so location is good. The owner also seemed open to suggestions on improving guests' experience.

The place has everything you need, except for an air con - they can in invest in one because in the summer I'm sure one will suffer, but the dark furniture does help with the heat. For the price we expected very little, but we were very surprised with the accommodation. Will definitely use you every time. We have always stayed in hotels but this is much more value for money.
Just what we needed after the "matric final exam stress". Lene is a wonderful hostess, she knows the people and businesses in Clarens, so she was able to give directions to the places we were looking for. The people who work in the store are also very friendly and helpful. The prices "cater" for everyone's pockets. Of course it is a blessing to rise with the mountains so to experience you in the morning and God's presence all day. It's also not that far to drive (from Oosrand) to enjoy this picturesque town and its people.

What a nice surprise. We had a wonderful stay with a beautiful view of the mountain. The units are walking distance from the town, so we left the vehicle safely at La Bri and simply walked where we wanted to be. The units have everything one needs for self-catering accommodation. We were two groups of people visiting together and the units are right next to each other. So we had privacy with the comfort of our friends right next door. Clarens was our last stop from a long road trip where we only slept in hotels the whole time. Although we didn't have the designer furniture at La Bri as in the tiny hotel rooms, I feel the value we got for the incredibly large space was 100 times better than any hotel we've stayed at. Feel free to book.
Pleasant place to stay with all the amenities that were important to us. Nice, clean, neat and modern. Nice central location and we could walk everywhere we wanted to be. Limited DStv selection, e.g. not Kyk-Net and eNCA. Soaps and shampoo in the bathroom would have been appreciated. Our overall impression is positive.
