It was a fantastic weekend in a fantastic Cottage. The service and premises were excellent.
My husband and son went to do the Race to the Sea. We asked for a hot shower after the time, even though we are not staying the Saturday. They were more than willing to accommodate us!
We enjoyed our visit and had lots of fun.
The cottages at La Galiniere are really charming and well-equipped. The location is also good, just a short distance from the centre of Franschhoek, and so close to the wine tram. It also has a lovely pool area with braai facilities. The fact that there are just two cottages also provides a sense of privacy.

Our stay was perfect for us, 4 friends each with our own room.
With load shedding it is difficult. Not only did we not have electricity with load shedding, but also no water. We feel such a place should cater for that.
It was a lovely cottage, but not ashoodas expected.
Nice stay but it was unlucky that the pool was not ready to be used. Even though I asked and they wrote to me that it was. The owner was shouting at me and my 5-year-old son for going to the pool without knowing it was not ready.

Gas oven in unit is pathetic and should be replaced. One cannot tell at all what temperature he is at. Rest is ok. Ritha very helpful.

La Galiniere Guest Cottages, has a beautiful view. The unit was well equipped. We had a great time relaxing by the pool among the wine fields. It was located on the main street which was a bonus point, close to everything.
As we said, was a pleasant stay. It was clean and handy, welcomed with a bottle of red wine from their own vineyard, was good. The swimming pool is small but enough to enjoy, especially the kids. Security is 5 stars for sure, maybe to many dogs, that scared a little bit.
La Galiniere is 1,5 km outside of Franschhoek and I would definitely stay there again. It is very neat and clean and ideal if you want to drive out, get to know the area and just need a place to sleep. We are people who love showering and having the shower in the tub was a bit irritating. Other than that, everything we needed was there. I really liked the idea of being between the vineyards - gives one that Franschhoek feeling.

One of the most beautiful places I've ever stayed at. The units are incredibly well equipped and finished. The service we received was excellent. I would like to visit again in the summer so I can make use of their other facilities like the swimming pool and braai-areas. But for now, the fireplace was very pleasant.

We were kindly welcomed. This cottage is spacious and will definitely be big enough for a family of 4. Well equipped and well located, barely 1 km from town. We really enjoyed the tranquility and are sure to miss the beautiful mountains. Would recommend and visit again!
Not luxurious, but very clean and tidy with everything needed to feel at home. Lots of space and the most beautiful farm (vineyards and mountains). Very good restaurant about 200 m from the farm on the main road.
La Galiniere offers simple 5-star accommodation and is well located. The communication with and reception by Rietha was fantastic, and she immediately made us feel welcome. We got much more than we expected. The price was perfect for the stay and the experience was nothing but positive. The unit is very large, excellently equipped, very neat and has everything and more that one needs. We can really recommend it.

The cottage is ideal for a family of 4 with big bedrooms and living room. Most importantly the location is fantastic! A small vineyard in the Main Street of Franschhoek that allows you to visit all farms at easy reach. The cottage is very clean and I highly recommend. Only area of improvement is the presence of 4 dogs in the vineyard which makes the kids a bit scared as the dogs do bark at people.

My wife and I found this place to be very pleasant. The kitchen is very well equipped and the owner thought of everything. Crockery, cutlery and kitchen utensils were high quality. The nice closets have enough hangers so you can hang up your clothes and unpack the rest. It's a big improvement on other guesthouses that do not offer such facilities. The mattress in the main bedroom was a dream and the white linen was a pleasant surprise. The additional soft blanket in the cupboard was also welcome and we had to use it seeing as how it was incredibly cold. The carpet in the main bedroom hasn't been vacuumed recently and maybe that is something that could be paid attention to. The bathroom also needs a bit of attention like the taps above the bath that appears untidy. Otherwise a nice place and we will stay there again for sure.
Even though the house was neat, outside was untidy. They could have raked the leaves and cleaned the pool. I know that it's winter, but it felt unkempt and untidy as there were leaves everywhere and the pool was dirty. You see the photo's on the internet and you expect it to be as pretty and neat. The photos create an illusion and then you get there and it's dirty outside, that was a big disappointment. They would not advertise it the way it looks now.
The premises are not maintained outside at all. The grass wasn't even cut. Inside the unit it is comfortable. In the four days we were there, the garbage container was never cleaned. Not once did they ask if everything was okay. The place does have a lot of potential if managed properly.

It's a very nice and peaceful environment and the view is beautiful. I would suggest they put in fresh wood for the fireplace every day with enough Blitz and organize a cleaning service.

There is everything one needs in the house to make it pleasant. The location is amazing; everything one wants to see is close to La Galiniere. Can recommend it with confidence.
Wonderful stay. Centrally located and private. We enjoyed the stay very much. On a less positive note: The entrance hall to the unit's carpet is dirty. The dogs on the premises appear to be neglected and they are electronically restrained from barking which I believe constitutes a form of animal abuse. Furthermore, a very pleasant stay.

I only spent one night there. I appreciated the quiet and privacy - and a lovely bottle of local wine with no label.

We were received very kindly and taken to a bigger place which was very comfortable!
Lovely location, would've liked somewhere to sit outside. Friendly host. I liked being able to walk into the village.
Pleasant stay in the cottage. The unit is close to the business center, yet you experience the landscape and nature. The cottage is well equipped. The coffee powder was hard and I think the container is not airtight. Or there should be no coffee, or better coffee. Good bedding, nice mattress. I would recommend the place.
Wonderful place and surroundings. The dogs were a real bonus. Would recommend it to a friend. The only downside is that the door at the kitchen couldn't lock as there was no key for that door and that is the reason why we give it a 3 star for safety, but overall wonderful place. Which we booked for an additional night (2 nights) instead of one.

Carpets and lounge suite need cleaning, blankets on bed had hair so did the bath have hair in it. Kitchen well fitted. Beds comfortable.
A good stay, very clean. Only problem was when we wanted to leave at 10am the next day, there was no one to be seen.
Clean, well appointed accommodation with splendid view. Close proximity to town center. We received a warm welcome on arrival and the lovely log fire warmed the rooms too. A great place for self-catering when wanted, but close to excellent restaurants and coffee shops.
We had great service from La Galiniere Guest Cottages - our cottage had lots of space, was clean and comfortable and we received a bottle of wine. Great spot for a self-catering weekend away! Will stay there again!
