One overnight night unplanned became two, due to unexpected and unprecedented snowfalls, and highways that were closed! All staff were extremely friendly and very helpful, and meals were really delicious. Unit not very modern, but comfortable and tidy. Excellent overnight stay between Gauteng and KZN - for those travelers who want to take it easy.

La La Nathi is set in the most beautiful area of the Free State. The lodge is beautiful, the staff is extremely helpful and friendly, the Orchid room was comfortable, clean and convenient. I would recommend La La Nathi to all, whether it is for business, family or a quick break. The wedding venue is stunning too.

Very, very nice stay! The chalet was lovely: clean, well equipped and comfortable. The staff were all, from the get go, so friendly and helpful. The restaurant serves delicious food at reasonable prices. Load shedding didn't affect us at all either!

Harrismith is a very cold place. The air conditioner's warm function did not work and there are no electric blankets or even winter sheets on the beds. Just slept very cold. Furthermore, the staff were very nice and friendly and the meals of high quality.

The staff at La La Nathi were incredibly friendly and accommodating. We were staying in Harrismith for a sports event and needed to be able to have breakfast at 06:30 am. They suggested we pre-order breakfast, which meant it was ready for us and we were on time every day. This is critical for warm-ups etc. before our events. We needed to be able to also check out and leave early, so to prevent any delays, Dineo went out of her way to assist me in checking out in advance of us leaving. The traffic noise was very high on our first night, but that is not the venue's fault - perhaps an option to purchase earplugs might be something to consider.
Staff were very pleasant and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. The restaurant and reception staff were amazing.

It is very inconvenient without a microwave oven and that there is no grill.
We slept well. The destination is not "self catering". The cottage has a fridge with glasses and mugs, as well as coffee and tea. There is no oven or microwave, and no cutlery or plates. We would like to have a fire closer to our rooms. There is a small braai by the pool. Just take your own wood and/or charcoal with you. The pool was very dirty and we could not swim in it. The children's play area was also overgrown.

The rooms are clean and comfortable. Winter in Harrismith is no joke. However, a nice hot shower and an aircon that worked well, made our stay comfortable. The restaurant's food is excellent! The chicken pot pie is like ouma made it.
We stayed at La La Nathi Country Guest House on the way between Ballito and Pretoria. The rondavel is a comfortable size and very tidy. The restaurant is lovely, there was a nice log fire and the food was excellent. We had fun watching rugby in the bar area and had fun walking around the premises and our little girl enjoyed watching donkeys and ostriches. Excellent service!
Rooms were comfortable. Heaters had been switched on beforehand so that the room had a comfortable temperature on a very cold evening. There was even a hairdryer.

We stopped at La La Nathi on the way to the sea. The accommodation was good and the food top notch. It was fun for the kids to be able to walk around and explore. There is also a swimming pool, pond and play area. The only downside is the location right next to the N3 - you can only hear the trucks passing by at night.

The management of the entrance is worrisome. There is no Security at the entrance. There is notice that asks you to press the reception button, but no response. I called the number provided on the gate and the Secuirty personnel directed me to jump out of the vehicle and go open the alternative gate in the dark. I think that it is too risky for potential mugging and hijackings. Wonder what happens during rainy days.

This is the only place I will repeatedly overnight/stay when in Harrismith. The staff is professional and so friendly, the accommodation is "spotless", everything works 100%. We stayed in Thandi, we unfortunately arrived there very late due to uncontrolled circumstances, but were escorted by the security to our room. We had a good stay at La La Nathi. The rooms are spacious and well equipped with a tea and coffee station, a small fridge, TV, a bathroom with a bath (this was great to bath our 8 month old) and underfloor heating that made the room very cosy and warm. We were a bit disappointed in the food at the restaurant. We ordered dinner and breakfast. Breakfast was really nice; a full English breakfast, however supper was a little disappointing. We ordered Eisbein, that was served overcooked with frozen vegetables, as well as a smoked salmon salad, which was really average. Other than that the stay was great and I would definitely recommend an overnight or longer stay here.

The rondavels are very neat and the underfloor heating a plus. The steak is out of the books, tender and delicious. Compliments to the chef. If you are not used to traffic, the trucks on the N3 are going to be a problem.
From the guard at the gate to the reception, everyone was very friendly. Spares no effort to be helpful to guests. Breakfast was delicious. The whole estate was beautiful.

We only stayed overnight but the room was adequate and the dinner was delicious. We were just a little unsure about the safety as we are naturally fussy about safety. There were no burglar bars on the windows but they informed us that there was a security person on duty throughout the night.
I work in hospitality and thought the service could improve slightly however it was nothing in particular that was bad. Enjoyed the lovely venue and quick overnight stop. The food was okay. The lasagne was kinda plain and Continental breakfast was alright, too bad it wasn’t fully set up at the time the first two families were there.

A few of the nice things include the fact that there are many plugs. The website stated that no meals are available on a Sunday evening, but we could get food at the restaurant. Food was delicious. Try the Msobu (nightshade) milkshake.
Very comfortable for a stopover on the way to the coast with small children for whom the road is too long. Good service, clean and good food.

The rooms were clean and neat, staff very friendly and helpful.
We would like to use your braaier by the pool to make dinner and have a good time together. The braai area was a bit disappointing and without washing up facilities. We then decided instead to order dinner and have it delivered to our room. I asked for extra vegetables that were not on the menu. The food arrived promptly at the agreed time, extra vegetables included. The food was delicious, thank you very much for the extra effort to accommodate us.

The guesthouse offers a very pleasant stay and the facilities are very good. Unfortunately, it is very close to the highway and the trucks constantly make noise. Even at night, it is very distracting and hinders your sleep.

We were completely surprised and blown away! It is so beautiful and you immediately feel part of nature - away from the city's noise. If you drive through the Akkerbome, you can only know that you are going to have a good time. I definitely recommend it as an overnight stop if you are driving a long way. Nice underfloor heating, so the room stays warm and cozy. I will visit La La Nathi again without a doubt! Thanks also to the staff who call us in advance and confirm that we are still on our way, and then welcome us with open arms.

What a fantastic stay, room Jabulane was beautiful and 5 star! Called guest house and asked if they would open bar for WC final and it was arranged. How surprised we were that the owners also just came to watch together. Will stay there again for sure. Food was very good and prices very reasonable. Enjoyed a lot!
The only criticism is that the bedroom we had lacked a stand to put our luggage on so the suitcases had to be put on the floor! Otherwise we enjoyed our stop over.

The place has been without power for 12 days and a generator is only switched on at certain times. You watch another movie then the power is off. Understand this is a problem in town, but we as guests could have at least been notified.
Accommodation is good and staff very friendly and helpful. Power is a problem in Harrismith. The guest house does have a generator which is in operation from 5:00 to 22:30. It was very hot on 20 December 2019 and because the power problem we couldn't use the fans - so it was uncomfortably hot during the night. The guest house (Rondawel no. 15) is very close to the main road and the traffic on the N3 never stops. Throughout the night you hear heavy vehicles passing by - it was quite disturbing.

For us it was a halfway stop between Durban and Joburg. Would be a good location for day trips to the Drakensberg region too. Location is just beneath the N3 outside of Harrismith and you can hear the trucks passing by all the time. For us it was okay. Our bungalow No. 6 was spacious and well appointed. Staff was nice. Had a very good dinner at the restaurant.

La La Nathi is really a very quiet place to sleep between Pretoria and Durban. We slept in a cottage that was wonderfully private. We also ate dinner and breakfast, which was really very delicious. The bar made of sleeper wood is also something special. Will definitely be back and recommend it!

During our arrival it was raining and the room was overflowing. However, they immediately wiped it dry. They can certainly make a plan so that the water does not flow into the room. The shower-over-bad's floor definitely needs a good cleaning. It was not possible to use it.

We were on our way to KwaZulu-Natal's South Coast and stayed over at La La Nathi just outside Harrismith. It was the third time we stayed over here and we have never been disappointed. The rooms are clean and neat and it offers all the amenities you need. You pay extra for dinner and breakfast, but we can recommend it - it's delicious! The guest house's location is very convenient, but unfortunately it's right next to the main road and you are constantly aware of the traffic.
We rode a motorbike, stayed there for 2 nights. Could easily visit other places at Drakensberge, well located, road was nice. Friendly staff, delicious food, beautiful and clean rondavel. Pool was a bit down and the grass was a bit long. Other than that just had a nice stay. Nice place for a night or two if you just want to rest.
Just missed a shower in the bathroom.
The only criticism is related to the noise from the N3.
It's the ideal overnight stop on the way to the sea, especially for older people who no longer want to travel so far in one day. The accommodation was comfortable and the meals particularly tasty and good value for money. We will definitely make a visit there again!
A place I always wanted to experience halfway between JHB and DBN next to the busy N3. Staff were friendly, the rooms and area was tidy and clean. Rooms could do with a roof fan or aircon.
