Beautiful bedroom with comfortable bed! Breakfast was ready on time and delicious.
Had a great stay in La Loggia and enjoyed the delicious breakfast. The fact that there is a security guard on duty in the evenings gave one peace of mind.
Ons verblijf was vrij kort,we werden vriendelijk ontvangen,en mochten zelf onze kamer kiezen, alles was netjes verzorgd. Een ideale plaats niet veraf van de luchthaven .
La Loggia on Portland B&B is a lovely place to stay, a few little things like the bathroom door being broken and so forth, but otherwise very friendly service and perfect location and the price is also good for what you get.
We had a great time. I would have liked to stay longer.
Everything was top notch, neat and spacious. They just need a new pan to reduce the amount of oil in the fried eggs.
The room is neat and clean.
There are 3 addresses (so it's very confusing) and the photos advertised on the website don't portray what it looks like. The place is dirty, the light switches, walls and doors are so dirty that you don't want to touch it - the cutlery is dirty, the tooth pick holder is gross, the coffee machine's coffee is cold - maybe it was the previous day's coffee? What an unpleasant experience.
The only problem I experienced was that the room smelled of cigarette smoke despite clear notices stating no smoking in the rooms and a smoke alarm installed.
My only critique is that the room was just a little smaller than anticipated and the breakfast choices were limited. Other than that it was a lovely, clean place to stay. It is a 2 minute drive to the beach and 5 minutes to Gateway. The aircon works great - an important factor for us Joburgers that are not used to the humidity. Decent shower and good selection of DStv channels. Staff were friendly and accommodating.
The accommodation's name is not the same as that indicated on the net. The lady who received me was friendly, but no contact or further inquiries as to whether everything is in order. The room was clean and tidy, but small things like dirty curtains, a dirty duvet "inside" and dirty glasses were not nice to experience.
The place was clean, the ladies were very helpful. We enjoyed it very much will definitely go back.
The caretaker Dorren was so caring in so many ways, always with a smile on her face and the breakfast was great, served on time every morning. I give her the 10 out of 10 points. The owner I only saw in passing and thought that wasn't very welcoming.
Peaceful accommodation and good value for money.
La Loggia on Portland B&B is one of the crown jewels of Umhlanga. The guest house's rooms are very neat and equipped. A tasty breakfast served by friendly staff, it was the highlight of our day! We could spend more time relaxing and avoid long distances because the main beach was a stone's throw away. Notable and a bonus was the sense of privacy even with a fellow countryman on your doorstep. A definite recommendation for any traveling business person (Free WiFi) and/or for the adventurous traveller.
Would go there again anytime.

The bed in suite 1 was uncomfortable and there is no privacy as the rooms are too close together and due to this, I don't feel it's value for money. The staff are friendly however, and the location and safety are good.

Exceptional service, comfort and value for money.
I would like to bring to your attention just one problem and that is that when we left we could not enjoy any breakfast because the main switch broke and there was no assistance such as gas or power generator although the owner did offer for breakfast at his residence we could not make it because it was too late and my daughter had to register for exams at Gate way Hotel already at 7.30. Furthermore, everything was very pleasant, peaceful and we had a good time relaxing.
It was a convenient overnight stay.
Although the room was lovely and clean and quaint, the breakfast left somewhat to be desired. There was very little that I, as a vegetarian could, eat. But the facilities were there to make our own food, which we rightly did. Thanks.
The rooms do not compare well with other rooms that cost more or less the same. The area was good and safe though.
