Any traveler will feel special and be pleasantly surprised by the accommodation quarters' decor, to feel at home on a farm, which is offered by it. Location and accommodation option met our isolated requirements more than expected. I believe anyone can stay there for a night or make it the centerpiece of a vacation of 10 days or even more.
I will definitely stay there again if ever come that way. Will definitely recommend them.

We were a group of 4 adults who received fantastic service. The accommodation is top notch and the rooms are very well furnished. Their breakfast is out of the books and Lou and Fransine are very nice people. I will definitely book there again!
Francine and Lou, the owners, went out of their way to make our visit as comfortable as possible. When the power was out due to load-shedding, Lou brought us a lamp with which we had more than enough light! We will visit La Motte again and definitely recommend. The condition of the access road is negative, but at least it is not too far from the main road.
At first we felt a bit unwelcome and didn't really know what we could and couldn't do. (May we go for a walk in their large (very well maintained) garden and in which direction are which paths?, she could have taken us to the braai area and not just pointed there). It may be personal taste, so if a really neat and well-appointed place is more important to you than warmth, this is the place for you! That said, it could have just been a bad day for her or we could have offended with all the questions beforehand.

The house is an old gem with a fairytale decor. It is tastefully and comfortably furnished. The surroundings are beautiful and it is conveniently located near the town. Golden Gate and Clarens are not far away. Bethlehem looks like a well-kept town and has a peaceful atmosphere.
Our stay at La Motte Guest House just outside Bethlehem was fantastic! It's a beautiful sandstone house with a lovely garden and lots of trees and birds. The room is so tastefully and characterfully furnished with beautiful antique wooden furniture. There was everything from clean towels to Peaceful Sleep! Lovely! There was even a TV and air conditioner which we were very grateful for.

We experienced top class hospitality. Despite the fact that we arrived 21:30 instead of 19:00 our hosts were really accommodating. Our room was beautiful, neat and cosy. We had the most wonderful breakfast and even left with a new mince recipe! We would definitely make use of this accommodation again if ever we need to spend the night in Bethlehem, and would recommend this place to everyone.
La Motte is well located close to town and just off the main road. Rooms are beautiful, well equipped and tidy. My husband got a surprise of his life! Not only was the room well equipped, but it was neat, clean and the most beautiful interior decoration with antiques! The stone house has a romantic atmosphere. The unit is going to be on the cold side in the winter because there are no heaters.
We slept over for 3 nights during a rugby tour. Beautiful surroundings, friendly reception, road is just a bit noisy. Loved De Wet, the guard dog, and also felt very safe. Mind you it can be very cold in the winter.

We arrived at La Motté early, but Francine welcomed us very kindly. Francine is terribly creative and you can see her creativity everywhere - from the beautiful room we slept in, all the way to the garden. We squinted at the peacock and the female peacock with her young. There are also two little goats walking around there. The garden is beautiful and when you come down to the yard you see the beehives and eucalyptus trees and it creates a very peaceful atmosphere. We really enjoyed it and will definitely stay there again.

The main road between Bethlehem and Natal passes near La Motté and the traffic can be a bit difficult at night. The unit is very interesting and surprised us. Everything needed was in the unit. Will go again.
It is a very nice, peaceful and warm place to sleep. Just can't believe somewhere in RSA we still sleep without burglar bars and still feel safe.
La Motte B&B is a very cute place. The breakfast is a real farm breakfast - big and tasty. The biggest problem was that there is no fan or air conditioning in the rooms. We got incredibly hot. When we left we were told that breakfast was extra and not part of the advertised price. It was quite a shock.
