We had a very nice stay. Friendly welcome and the sheepdog was my children's best friend. Had a nice swim to cool down quickly before we went exploring and had a milkshake at 4 sheep. The dinner at the guest house was very tasty. Best lamb chop, yum. Will definitely book here again in the future as our overnight stop for our trip to the Cape.

Just what we needed.
We spent the night here between Johannesburg and Cape Town. Nice bed. Enough space in the fridge for a few things that need to stay cold. Enough space for children to run around and get tired.

The garden is very cool and pretty to sit in after a long drive on a very hot day. The air conditioner in the room was very welcome too.

Our stay at La Paix Guesthouse was really very comfortable and we were able to relax after a long drive, while the teenagers made use of the free WiFi. Everyone was well rested the next morning and we could continue on the road. The unit was well furnished and very tidy. We will definitely use La Paix again when we go that way again for a holiday in the Cape. (We don't like that the milk was provided in a milk jug in the fridge. Would much prefer a sealed box/bottle of milk).

The mattress is not comfortable. The rooms are also too close to each other: if the people in the next room take a shower or wake up, you are also woken up. Unfortunately you also hear the trucks, but at least not as bad as on the main street. Next time I will definitely look for another place to stay overnight. Was neat and clean, with nice hot water.

Shower door was broken in the bathroom and almost fell on my child, aircon kept dripping water and had to be turned off and on more than once to get it to work. No knives or plates if you wanted to eat takeaways.

We slept over on the way to Johannesburg and the stay was really pleasant. Great to be able to eat a nice plate of food right after our arrival and the staff who received us were very friendly. I enjoyed the peaceful garden after the long drive. Maybe just the floors that need a good cleaning because my children's feet were black after a bit of playing in the dining room and room. We will definitely stay at La Paix again if we need accommodation in Beaufortwes.

I searched and searched and there was no one at reception either (it was after 9 am)! Another guest had to open for me to leave. Otherwise the place was tidy and good value for money.

I was travelling to Cape Town with my four doggies. I stayed overnight in unit 7. The venue was conveniently situated and the service was good. I only had dinner, which was amazing and I ordered a lunch pack for my travels the next day, was great. All in all, it was a good overnight stay.
La Paix Guesthouse is a very pretty and interesting place. We enjoyed the calmness of the Karoo. Will recommend it anytime ti friends and family.
Our stay was very good, they called us on the way for dinner. Dinner was very good - with karoo lamb chops. Would stay there again - fairly quiet part of Beaufort West.
There was one biscuit and one tea bag. The soap in the shower was half full. I paid deposit and my brother his half, the lady said she would bring him change. We are still waiting. It was R350 per person. But I feel it is not worth the money.

La Paix offers 10 units, some of which are self-catering. All units have their own private entrance and an en-suite bathroom either with a showers only or with a bath and shower. Other room facilities include air-conditioning, a TV with DStv, a bar fridge, a kettle with complimentary tea and coffee and electric blankets. Wi-Fi is also available to guests.
There is a beautiful garden with a swimming pool, which hosts a large variety of bird species. Parking for cars and motorcycles is for free and secure. There are braai facilities available to guests.
Breakfasts and dinners are provided as well as breakfast and lunch packs can be arranged. Please note, there is not a liquor license but guests are welcome to bring their own alcohol. La Paix caters and host small weddings and private functions, guests are welcome to enquire for further information. The town of Beaufort West has a municipal and private museum. The famous heart surgeon Dr Christiaan Barnard was born and raised in this town. Some of the equipment used to perform the first heart transplant are on display in the museum. West of the town there is the beautiful Karoo National Park.
