The open-plan flat comprises a king-size bed that can be converted into 2 single beds, and there are 2 armchairs, a fan, and a gas heater for winter. A camp cot can be supplied for a baby in the main bedroom.
The bathroom is fitted with a shower, basin, and toilet. The hot water is supplied by a solar geyser, with an electric booster for cooler days. Access to the bathroom for the person using the sleeper couch is via the main bedroom.
The kitchenette is equipped with a gas hob, an air fryer, kettle, toaster, French press coffee plunger, a small microwave, a full fridge with a small freezer section, crockery and cutlery, pots and pans, a double sink, and a dining counter with 3 chairs.
There is an enclosed covered patio with a lockable grill gate, a drop-down canvas screen over the gate, to keep out wind and rain and to ensure privacy, and a sleeper couch, a bench and a small dining table and chairs.
Guests have access to uncapped Wi-Fi and a Smart TV. This will give guests access to YouTube, but if one wants Netflix or other channels it is advisable that guests bring their own password and email address. There are lamps with rechargeable lights in case of loadshedding. An inverter is also available to keep the TV and Wi-Fi running during load shedding.
A portable Weber braai is available on request.

22 guests' feedbackThe stay was excellent. Very peaceful and everything I needed. It is safe and very quiet, I stayed for a month and I relaxed and rested well. It is very close to everything and that made it very convenient for me. Charmian is an excellent host and was always ready to help if I had any requests.
Host went out of her way to make us comfortable. She was warm and welcoming and explained everything that was needed. Easy to communicate with. Great self-catering place with the necessary equipment to prepare meals. Fantastic!

The unit is small but comfortable and well equipped. The kitchen and bathroom have everything we needed as a family. The lovely warm bedding was very appropriate for the cold weather. The neighborhood is quiet at night. It is close to many things to do and conveniently close to Stellenbosch, Strand and Gordons Bay. I can definitely recommend the stay.
I stayed a lovely 3 nights in L'abri Guest Flat. Beautifully clean with everything needed. The hostess and host were very nice and went out of their way to make us feel at home.

Neat, comfortable place. Has everything needed. Lovely, quiet environment. Hostess received us kindly. Photos are an accurate reflection of the place. Would definitely recommend the accommodation and stay there again myself.
It was great! Wonderful hosts and setting. Clean, safe and well-presented guest flat. Will definitely make use of the accommodation again when in CPT. Only one suggestion: the front entrance of the flat should not only have a gate with netting, but also a door.

Charmian is an excellent hostess and immediately made us feel at home. The facilities in the apartment are great and sufficient (thanks for the sharp knives). Every day she asked if there was anything she could help with or do for us, even gave us fresh fruit. She and her husband are very pleasant people and also enjoy talking. This is truly my next place to stay if we visit the Cape again. Her place is highly recommended.
We had a most enjoyable stay. The place is ideally situated for our requirements, close to shops, restaurants, wine estates and other places of interest. Clean and neat with everything you need. Comfortable bed with quality linen. L'Abri is in a quiet and peaceful area where you can relax. And with a host and hostess like Phillip and Charmian very little can go wrong. Thank you very much for your kindness and hospitality, it is much appreciated. Charmian, your explanation of L'Abri posted on the fridge with your welcome note says a lot and makes you feel at home. Thank you very much.

Experience a wonderful stay with hospitality. Very well equipped with everything needed. Hostess put fresh flowers from the garden in the room. Immediately felt at home and experienced the feeling of genuine care. Wish L'abri Gaste Huis only prosperity and blessings.

Well located and tidy. Can't shower if power is off though. But provided schedule of load shedding and has lights and gas plates.
They are very helpful and make you feel very special. Would recommend anyone to stay there. Very good location and very convenient to get to places. Security is good. Try it. Stay well.
It was a warm welcome by an absolutely wonderful couple who reminded me of a long-overdue visit with Mom and Dad.
The king-size bed was extremely comfy. The flat was well-equipped for a short stay and very clean. Charmian, our host was friendly and helpful.
It's always nice to stay there. Owners are always friendly and hospitable. They make you feel so welcome there.
Would stay there again anytime. The owners are lovely people. Everything was 10 out of 10. Will definitely recommend.
The only thing that was missing was perhaps a washing machine if you plan on staying a good few days. Otherwise, absolutely lovely.
