I had a very nice stay, although I think it's a bit strange that the toilet is in the bedroom itself, which would be a bit uncomfortable if you're not there alone. I also arranged in advance with the owner to check in earlier, and the lady who is the manager there was not aware of that and they put me in another room. There was also no one available when I had to check out, and I ended up giving my key to one of the other guests. Other than that, I had a great stay, everything was super clean and very tidy, and I will definitely use them again.
It pains me to give this review. I booked Room 5 six weeks in advance and paid in full. I only stayed at this establishment because I really liked Room 5. On arrival, the reception was locked and there was no welcome. I phoned the host, Ida, and she told me to look in the grey locker box for my key. At no point prior to my arrival was I informed the locker box was the method of key handover. The housekeeper came to meet me and told me I had been moved to Room 2 ─ a far inferior room without the facilities that I required. I phoned Ida to say this was not what I paid for and downgrading me was unacceptable. She said a guest in Room 5 decided to stay an extra night. Then he should have been moved to Room 2. Ida did not apologise and only made excuses. At Room 2 the patio gate was locked around 5 pm with a large padlock. No one had informed me that the key for this exterior padlock was on my room key. Should a fire have broken out, the guests in Rooms 2, 3 and 4 would have no place to go in the small patio enclosure. When I complained to Ida about this she said dismissively "Oh, all our guests know the gate key is on the keyring". I did not. This is a serious safety oversight. The cold tap in the bath in Room 5 did not work. There was no emergency battery backup light for the room for loadshedding ─ which was experienced at least twice each day/night. The latch at the bottom of the French doors in Room 5 fell off when I opened the door. Overall, the housekeeping staff were very kind, but the host, Ida, was not. I would not stay here again.
My spouse and I will visit Ladera Vista again in the future. The tranquility, cleanliness, safety and even the hospitality are great. The service is excellent.

The guesthouse is centrally located. We felt very safe. The unit was spacious and very tidy. Will definitely stay there again.
The bathroom/toilet without a door is really unpleasant. Our adult daughter was with us and it's uncomfortable to shower etc. with a place without privacy. Nowhere on their website is it mentioned about the open-door bathroom or pictures of it. The gate that has to be opened and closed with a lock is unpleasant when it rains and it is difficult with the lock hanging inside and you unlocking it from the outside. Power outage on morning of check out, making hair blowing and coffee making a problem. With wet hair out there to our next appointment. Thought there would be solar panels for the guest house.
My husband and I spent the weekend in Paarl. The facilities were adequate, but we did not cook ourselves in the room. No washing up facilities in the room, but the coffee mugs and glasses were washed by Ladera Vista staff. The room was extremely neat and clean. Thank you very much!

We were looking forward to the family unit, but were then split into two rooms. We then had to sleep in the room with the toilet open. It was not that pleasant, I prefer a private toilet. The 3 daughters had to take the 3-bedroom because they are 3. The steel gate helps with security, but is not the most comfortable to open and close all the time. The 3-bedroom also smelled of smoke that evening and the next day due to the braai where we cooked the first night. So didn't grill again, it left the whole room smelling of smoke, which the children didn't enjoy at all.
DStv does not work correctly. No electricity on the day of checkout. Couldn't do my hair or have coffee the morning of checkout, even thou no loadshedding was scheduled.

The unit/room was neat and clean. We had a nice stay and visited and felt safe. Tanya and her husband were very nice, they welcomed us with open arms.

The place is well located and very central. It is a beautiful view towards the mountain side.

Ladera Vista was a favorite of mine in Paarl. My husband and I have stayed there twice before in room 5 which was great. I was disappointed the last time I stayed there alone. I thought I was booking room 5 again, because that was the picture on the website when I booked, but then room 3 was allocated to me. The room was extremely small and the toilet makes a terrible noise when the water runs into the tank. I also couldn't find the key at the office where I got it before. It was stored in a lockbox, but the information was not passed on to me, so when I wanted to check in after a long and busy day, I had to call first to find out where wk could get the key.
Everything was very neat and very comfortable. Will definitely stay there again if needed.

Okay for one night stay for business travellers. Walls really thin, listen to neighbour's TV as well as music the whole evening after a tiring day. Reception was brilliant, and very friendly.
"Reception" sign on front door of no use, no one in sight, although 24 hour service is advertised. Room booking, room 4, was chosen according to our personal requirements, king size bed and bath, confirmation of booking was received, on arrival we had to learn that the room was no longer available, but fortunately we were then granted 2 rooms, double bed and no bath When inquiring about a bath we were told not 1 room is equipped with a bath, not even the main house has a bath. Really? Why is room 4 advertised with a bath?
Arriving within the confirmed time, no one knew about my reservation and they could not get hold of the owner. I had to wait for more than 2 hours while the manager tried her best to confirm my reservation. She later put me in an available room, without any confirmation, only to be told next that I was in the wrong room and needed to change asap. As part of my original query and discussion, I clearly mentioned that reliable internet access is critically important. There was no internet for the duration of my stay, despite my repeated complaints. With all the problems, the owner never accepted any responsibility. I would definitely not recommend Ladera Vista.

The guest house is excellently located, right under the Paarl Rocks. Lovely view of the mountains with beautiful old buildings, good restaurants and surrounded by fertile valleys with historic wine and fruit farms in breathtakingly beautiful scenery. Friendly reception and good facilities.
Love the separate entrance, as well as the 2 rooms that can be connected together. Bathroom space maybe a bit tight. But otherwise very comfortable and nicely decorated.
Unfortunately, the sound density of the units is not very good and you can constantly hear normal conversations and even soft music/TV next door.

The guest house is located in a beautiful quiet environment. Ida received us very kindly and helped us with all our enquiries. The room we were in was equipped with everything we needed. However, it is very small and difficult for two people to move around comfortably.

We were 5 adults in one room with 1 toilet and 1 shower. It was not part of the quote. The room was neat, clean and the hostess was very pleasant.
We stayed at Ladera for 5 days. Braai area is shared (there is only one braai). It violated privacy because you don't necessarily want to share the space with strangers. Room was neat, but space is limited. The setup is fine if you just sleep over or are out all day and just want to shower and go to bed. The TV is centrally connected and you have to watch what's showing, you don't have a choice to choose a channel yourself. Cost is very reasonable for what you get.
We booked a self-catering unit. The room we got was by no means a self-catering unit and not at all what we saw on the website. The bathroom does not have curtains in front of the sliding door and it was very uncomfortable for me to bathe or shower. We were hopelessly lost even though we were driving with a GPS. We also struggled to get hold of the agents and the owner and thus get directions.
I would definitely stay at Ladera Vista again, it's the perfect place to stay overnight or even for longer if you want to explore the Cape. Well appointed with everything you need, centrally located and the friendliest warm people. A 5 star establishment for sure! Will come again!

It's a very well equipped unit, located in an incredibly beautiful place with very friendly owners. They go out of their way to make life convenient for you. Very nice and would go back again anytime.
It's very well furnished and tidy. The only gripe is that the cars are outside in the driveway. Don't really know what their crime rates are. Otherwise we were very impressed.
A tall Mirror somewhere in the room would be good. Furthermore, it was a very well equipped room.
Recommended for anyone visiting the area and looking for value for money.
For the above-average traveller, this is too little, but it is economically justified and is therefore to be recommended.

My only complaint is that there is no chair and small table on which I could sit and work with my laptop. A man's back goes numb if you have to lie on the bed and work.
