It was a lovely retreat at the end of a stressful day of road closures after all the rain - regretfully though, we had to leave a day earlier after there was no let up with the inclement weather!
Our hostess gets 5 stars for helpfulness and friendliness. The beds and linen are also 5 star quality. She did her best to accommodate us. Unfortunately, the rest of the property is sub-standard compared to other accommodation we have stayed at. The living room sofas and kitchen equipment are outdated and run down, they need attention/replacement. There is also no mobile phone reception at the unit. The access road to the unit is very bad, not accessible to normal vehicles, overgrown and needs to be cut open. Acacia trees' thorns scratch your vehicle and the road is unscraped.
I would only recommend this accommodation if you were passing through. You must have an SUV or a Bakkie as the gravel road with a car is not recommended. Also, no WiFi access and very poor cell phone signal. Unfortunately, none of these were communicated upfront.
We had a very pleasant stay at Paddasang. The sound of the frogs singing was tranquil to the soul and what was needed. Definitely a place to go back to over and over again. Thank you Saar! Hope the peach tree is doing well.
A warm welcome by Saar, the owner, set the tone for a delightful stay. The tranquil setting on this working farm was very relaxing and peaceful. It is lambing season so we were able to enjoy seeing the newborn lambs and get a lesson on breeding by Saar. If in the area we will definitely return.
