Each room have DStv, a bar fridge and coffee station with kettle. Room 1 and room 2 upstairs has King-size beds with an en-suite bathroom with shower with a private balcony for each of room . Rooms 3 and 4 on the ground parking level, no stairs, each has a King-size bed and access to the balcony offering great views that are on the entrance level with dining room between them, as well as lounge area for your convenience. Unit No. 7 and 8 down 1 set of steps, have self catering facilities as well, has King-size beds, kitchenette, bathroom with shower. Unit No. 6 budget room has 2 single-size beds in main bedroom with 1 extra single-size bed in living area, bathroom and kitchen. Free Wi-Fi available in all rooms.
We serve a recommendable 3 course breakfast (from 07h30-09h30) in the dining room or balcony overlooking the lagoon. Our guests are often surprised by the shy presence of a Knysna Loerie in the trees just off the balcony. Braai facilities in the garden.
Transfers to and from the airport can be arranged as well as day trips and tours.

The manager, Appel, makes you feel welcome from the moment you step in. He is the reason why we returned a second time to Lagoon Lodge. His knowledge of the area and what you can do in Knysna and surrounding towns is excellent. The rooms are neat and well maintained. The breakfast is fantastic with the most delicious freshly made yogurt and fruit.

Apple, the owner/manager was there to greet us every morning in the most welcoming manner. He is so kind and caring, we could not have wished for a better host. He even had suggestions on sightseeing excursions to go on. The accommodation is spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the breakfast is really delicious. The views are stunning. We enjoyed the stay very much. It is clean and neat. The references we received for restaurants were very good. The breakfast is delicious, fresh yogurt, fruit salad, egg bread made from pot bread as well as bacon, eggs and toast. Fruit juice as well as coffee and tea are also available. Fantastic place to stay. Our room was ready upon our arrival. The rooms are fantastic, modern, large and fully equipped. The managers as well as their staff are super friendly and helpful and always very happy to see us and have a chat. Breakfast wasn't the best I've had, but there was more than enough to choose from. We ate more than we needed. The driver on duty deserves a medal. He suggested day trips for us every morning and arranged for discounts at various tourist attractions. Thank you very much for your part in our nice stay at Knysna Lagoon Lodges. It was our first time in Knysna, but certainly not our last.

Great views over lagoon and the breakfast is great! If you stay in the bottom rooms you can unfortunately hear everyone walking upstairs. If you a lot of baggage, there are a bit of stairs.
Room was comfortable, although a bit cramped. View from balcony is beautiful. Breakfast is delicious and the portions are large. Everyone is very hospitable. Appels knows the area and showed us all the sights in full along with a road map.

The air conditioning unit by the window of room 4, facing the kitchen, is disturbing at night. There are no fans in the room, so windows must be opened for air. Floors are wooden, people above movements are disturbing. Otherwise good.

What can I say? It was an extremely pleasant experience. Great, great, great in every way. Although it has a one star, it surpasses it with five stars. If you can climb stairs, feel free to book at Lagoon Lodge with its friendly and helpful staff and delicious breakfasts.

Very nice stay, and ate. Very relaxed atmosphere.
Pleasant place to stay with a good view, even if it was the burnt hills opposite the Knysna lake. The surroundings still smelled of smoke but the rooms were fresh and well prepared. Breakfast was top notch.

We had a lovely overnight stay at Lagoon Lodge. We were welcomed in a friendly way and made to feel at home. Breakfast was great in the morning and the hosts made sure we were happy! Lagoon Lodge is not too far from the centre of town, shops and a short drive to the waterfront. We enjoyed the view of the lagoon and watching the sunset over the heads. We would recommend a stay at this place and will be back!

The only negative comment I can make is that because its a wooden house, if the upstairs neighbours are noisy (which ours was) it interrupts sleep because the house creaks and I could hear their conversation at 02h30 am. Otherwise, the service was friendly and helpful, and the manager was very attentive and the breakfast was great value for money.
John and Johan are excellent hosts and they make you feel welcome once your first start chatting. Breakfast was tops and we look forward to staying there again.

During the weekend of 11-13 March 2016 we were at home in the Lagoon Lodge Knysna. We were pleasantly surprised with the high standard of cleanliness and refinement of the room we stayed in. Every possible comfort was available and the view from the room and deck in front of our room is beautiful. What a surprise the breakfast was! Continental as well as a full English breakfast is included in the room rate. I can recommend the Lagoon Lodge with the utmost confidence!

We spent one night at Lagoon Lodge. The little apartment is very comfortable for 2-3 people. The service was excellent. From check-in to breakfast. Our unit was downstairs, so the stairs were a bit of a hassle when carrying the luggage, so I suggest you consider helping guests with luggage. Other than that, everything was great. The breakfast was very nice. The omelette made especially for us was delicious and hot! The view from the dining room is very beautiful. There are people complaining on the web about noise, but it didn't bother us at all. Because many guesthouses are only next to or close to the N2, the same will apply to most of the guesthouses in the area.

For the man on the street, working on a tight budget, the place is ideal and worth saving money for. The people are friendly and the atmosphere is great. Breakfast is enough so that you only start thinking about cooking tonight. Even the owner comes to say hello and talk about land and sand.

There is a lot of noise from the road. The staff are very nice and helpful but I slept very badly with the noise of the trucks on the road and the noise of the air conditioning in another room.

We spent the night on our way home. The place was neat and clean.
Good breakfast, nice view, friendly staff. Otherwise: The room is between the kitchen and dining room. Preparing for breakfast makes noise and wakes you up early. Some guests are served breakfast on the deck right outside your room door so there is no privacy. Bathroom: no face towels, there is only a partition to the bathroom so it is cold, location of shower head causes a large part of the bathroom floor to get wet. There were strange dirty stains on the sheet. Dirty windows spoil a beautiful view. Furniture is quite worn, the place just needs a little renovation.

The balcony room meets expectations. Friendly staff who immediately make you feel at home.
There are many plus points about Lagoon Lodge. It is placed against a hill, so that one has a good view of the Knysna lagoon, as well as the Koppe. The rooms are convenient and comfortable. The breakfast is deliciously prepared. It is easy to find. However, the lodge is close to the main road: the disturbance from the traffic is not bad, but one notices it after a while.
A good location with the necessary facilities. The service of the kitchen staff could improve.

This budget unit is located under the main deck and breakfast hall. The main bedroom has 2 single beds and a TV with DStv. The second room is an open plan room with a single bed and a fully equipped open-plan kitchenette. This unit also has a braai area and a bathroom with shower. The room does get some noise from the breakfast hall in the mornings.

It also has access to balcony with lovely views over the lagoon and right into the Heads where you can see the distant waves break. There is also braai facilities available.
Each room have DStv, a bar fridge and coffee station with kettle. Room 1 and room 2 upstairs has King-size beds with an en-suite bathroom with shower with a private balcony for each of room . Rooms 3 and 4 on the ground parking level, no stairs, each has a King-size bed and access to the balcony offering great views that are on the entrance level with dining room between them, as well as lounge area for your convenience. Unit No. 7 and 8 down 1 set of steps, have self catering facilities as well, has King-size beds, kitchenette, bathroom with shower. Unit No. 6 budget room has 2 single-size beds in main bedroom with 1 extra single-size bed in living area, bathroom and kitchen. Free Wi-Fi available in all rooms.
We serve a recommendable 3 course breakfast (from 07h30-09h30) in the dining room or balcony overlooking the lagoon. Our guests are often surprised by the shy presence of a Knysna Loerie in the trees just off the balcony. Braai facilities in the garden.
Transfers to and from the airport can be arranged as well as day trips and tours.
The beauty of it all is that is affordable enough and a treat to anyone. There is also a backup system to keep the lights, TV and Wi-Fi on during loadshedding.
