"Relaxing to listen to the river."

Was a bit disappointed because online oversold the description and experience. 1. Couldn't see or access the waterfall. However, the sound was amazing. 2. Ocean view was barely visible, far, in a distance, over the top of the trees. 3. Traffic sounds were a little off-putting. 4. Not enough couch space for 4 people. 5. No access to the braai or pool, by the tennis courts. 6. No proper ventilation/window in the bathroom.

Many thanks to Louise van van Heerden Letting, the apartment was very clean and she provided assistance with everything. The location is perfect. Just a pity the trustees are very incompetent. I would definitely recommend Laguna La Crete 227.

It was a good breakaway. The fridge was just not working properly, so we ended up throwing some stuff out, but otherwise, all was good.

We enjoyed our stay very much. I would just suggest that they mention the DSTV connection is not compatible with the new DStv's. It can only connect with the older models. Seating is a bit tricky for 4 people.

Where to start? Upon arrival the key was nowhere to be found. Also not receiving message where to get key. Called the number we got on our message from early that morning. Then the woman said: Oh, didn't I send the message where you should pick up the key? So with the conversation it is said that we have to pick up the key from the Caltex Garage. So after 9 hours of driving, we now had to drive all the way back to collect the key from the Caltex Garage. Where the woman there doesn't know what I'm talking about either. I had to read the stuff to her myself and show which envelope was mine. I will never waste my money at that place again. 1) Can't use swimming pool on premises, it's for the owners' use. Even if it is not advertised as such. You have to drive down to the 2nd part of Laguna La Crete and use that pool and braai facilities, which is also poor because the braai areas' lights don't work. 2) Can't use tennis court either. Also only for owners' use. 3) You pay R650 for a shameful one-time cleaning of the place which is also not advertised as such. It's not daily cleaning of R100 a day. And the place stinks of mold. Food cupboards are rotting to the mold. 4) I used Domestos to wash the toilet, shower and bath.

What's nice is that there are guards who patrol the whole night and make sure everything is safe for us.

It's just a pity after a great week that all the noisy people arrive on Friday, with their loud (so-called) music, and other noise. A perfect week was ruined by at least one noisy neighbour on Friday afternoon and evening.

Very nice place, just didn't have a sea view nor access to the small pool that was near the apartment.

I enjoyed a quiet and peaceful stay. If you need to get away from it all for a few days this is it. Security at Laguna La Crete is of a high standard with regular patrols during the night.

It is a light walk away from the sea and pool. Not suitable for cooking. Quick breakfast and light dishes can be made. Take your favorite knife with you. There is not enough barbecue space. It was quiet and I had to wait by the pool for a chance. Balcony is too small to store gas bottle. It's perfect for a quick weekend and overnight. It is a place to sleep over and not visit. Very strict rules help keep it quiet. Laundry must be hung early, otherwise you will struggle with space. Remember your tennis rackets!

The unit was filthy, terrible condition, pool far from unit, could not braai at the unit. No tupperware and cutlery was in terrible condition. I would strongly recommend the owner take better care of the unit as the location is excellent.

"Would have liked that the unit be swept daily, and that Van Heerden, the letting agent, contact you once a week to ensure you receive the service on linen ect. and that you have no complaints or queries/problems."

I had a water leak from the toilet in the unit and send message to Van Heerden Letting, no response. I had to phone them to request assistance the next day. Had to use my towels to get the water under control, there was no old cloths to use or any bucket. I had to wait for the plumber, not Van Heerden's agent, I had to cancel my dinner with my friend until he was finished with the repairing of the leak. The shower door does not close properly. The occupants in the unit above us moved the furniture around very late at night. I think the unit needs some revamp with the cupboards in the passage and kitchen. There must be a box where you can leave the keys when departing. Would be nice if there could be a Wi-Fi connection from the offices overseeing the units.

The beach was within walking distance. The beach was also clean, safe and pleasant to go to. The shops are close by, as well as Margate. Port Edward is also a short distance to drive whereby you can find the Wild Coast Casino and Waterpark for the children.

Units were clean and up to standard. Just have to check the inventory list. Some of the kitchen utensils listed were not there. But I will definitely make use of this unit again. Value for money for sure.

In my opinion there should not be cups or glasses or anything "chipped" or broken in the place. I should have paid R650 for cleaning and then we don't get the place spotless and then I am still expected to clean the place afterwards. I don't mind because we always do anyway. The lady in charge of cleaning has been asking us for 8 hours when we are going out because apparently new guests are coming in. According to me, I should not have been out until 10:00 because you are only allowed to come in for 2 hours. Two lights were blown, the remote from the spare room does not work and one coffee table is falling apart. Guests are not there to fix the apartment's mistakes. It must be properly inspected before each arrival and fixed. Get yourself a new letting agent from whom you need to get the keys.

The accommodation was very nice. Everything very neat and safety tops. Please note that keys must be arranged for tennis and the swimming pool. We weren't aware of it as well as the costs. To play tennis, an hourly fee is charged. It was not so communicated in advance and was a great disappointment. The TV's normal reception was very bad. Also no DStv decoder (it was mentioned). It is unacceptable to rent a decoder at a minimum of R80 per day (with extras) in addition to the subscription. Also no Explora connection point. On a holiday, one expects at least these facilities.

The place is good for a holiday. Provides in all the facilities. No view of the ocean. Must stand on the chair to see a glimpse of the ocean.

It was very nice. The place is very neat and located close to most shops. Nice and big for a family of 4 and nice people. My only suggestion would be to talk to the other owners for another pool located at the apartment blocks. Furthermore, there are no negative comments at all, will definitely go again.

We were very satisfied with the accommodation, it was clean and tidy and safe. It would have been nice if there could have been a sea view, but it was a wonderful little place and we had a very nice stay. There were one or two mistakes, but they sorted everything out for us very quickly and professionally.

The stay was worth the money. The staff at Van Heerden letting is friendly and eager to assist. I was very pleased with everything.

The negatives: the apartment was not ready by 2pm. There was no bedding on the beds. So we were unsure and then went to buy our own covers. Coffee cups need to be replaced a bit. Air conditioning was faulty. The positive: Lovely apartment for family of 4. Very safe, secure covered parking for vehicle. Lovely pool.

Laguna La Crete 227 is the best holiday accommodation we have come across in the last 20 years. It is of high quality and very neat. Would recommend anytime.

The environment is beautiful. The SA Bike week is a great success. Unfortunately, the air conditioning was out of order. The microwave cord is too short to use. Ceiling fan switches do not work and fans make a lot of noise. Freestanding fan was out of order.

The air conditioning was out of order, the fan in the living room was out of order and the apartment needs some attention. The cars on the main road are a bit annoying. It's a shame there is no sea view, overall we had a nice stay. I will book in Laguna again but then an apartment with a sea view and preferably a braai on the veranda.

A very cosy and homely place. We really enjoyed our stay, just a pity no sea view and DStv, but otherwise a lovely place which I will recommend to friends and family.

The place quite and close to Shelly Beach Mall. There are close by restaurants and pubs in the area. Less than an hour drive away is the South Coast Casino. A good place. Other feedback regarding unit facilities has been sent to the owner.
