Perfect for an overnight stop on the way to Cape Town.
We had a very comfortable double room and the bathroom facilities were great, spacious, and the shower was wonderful. The towels are snowy white and smell fresh and clean. All in all, we had a good night. The hotel conjured up wonderful memories of childhood road trips in the 80s. It is a unique hotel in that sense and a "feel good" place. Our room was on the street side, but we honestly cannot say that the trucks going by bothered us. They do quiet down, and we experienced no real disturbance from around 22h00 to 05h00 the following morning. The host was also very helpful and friendly, and since the restaurant is currently closed, you have take away options in close proximity. Try the fish and chips across the road from the privately owned little take away shop; it was a very enjoyable meal.
The hotel is old but neat and the restaurant's food was above expectations.
The room was freezing cold and its on the main road - Laingsburg has loads of trucks coming through during the night. The traffic is just too much. No Breakfast or supper served. Not much to choose from in town - just take aways. People were kind and helpful though.
I would not recommend it. Decor is very old, right next to N1, lots of noise.
Accommodation was on the old-fashioned side, but at least clean! The fact that the kitchen and bar are closed is unacceptable! This is not told to you with your booking! The only places that can provide food are Wimpy and Steers!
The website is misleading. The restaurant is closed and not as the website describes it. We had to go look for food. Room is neat but the hotel is just tired and smells like an old house. Als is closed, and trucks make a terrible noise. Looks like they are not in a safe area. Definitely not worth the money.
The hotel is directly next to the N1, the noise is deafening. Maybe the hotel should give guests earplugs when they check in. We assumed a "hotel" would have a kitchen, or at least offer an option for breakfast or dinner. All she offered was Steers, KFC or Wimpy next door. If we were prepared for this, it was no problem. But with medical conditions that did not agree with the available options, we were badly caught off guard.
There were some problems with the TV, aircon and wall plugs, but otherwise we could at least sleep peacefully.
The restaurant was closed and we could not have dinner or breakfast there.
The hotel sits in the town directly next to the N1 i.e. all trucks passing through the town are you aware of. Fortunately it subsided during the night. As I could see, all rooms are located on the road. On the website it appears that there is a restaurant part of the hotel, but unfortunately not. The premises are also not freely accessible and you must call if you want to leave or enter the premises. Whether it was just the arrangement for a Sunday night I don't know. On our route of 8 days, this was my most expensive accommodation. I wanted to end it on a high note, but the shower head that I first had to hold in place with a cable tie was the last damper on the accommodation.
Nice stay and swimming. Our room was neat and clean. Staff friendly. Food was also nice at restaurant.

My husband is planning our route so that it always includes an overnight stay in Laingsburg Country Hotel and for the delicious lamb on their menu in the restaurant. The rooms and bathrooms are clean and the staff very friendly. We'll be back every year.
Laingsburg Country Hotel is a great overnight option. The service is of top quality, the rooms neat and clean, and the parking very secure. Value for money.
The hotel is old but everything was very clean and tidy. The receptionist was not available on arrival and we had to wait about 15 minutes before we could check in. It was quite frustrating after a long day's travel. The restaurant's food was very tasty with a good variety of vegetables.
It is unfortunate that the Hotel is on the main road going through Laingsburg. The road was extremely busy during December and the trucks keep you awake during the night. Very unfortunate as the rest, service, the pool in the hot Karoo, food were all great.
Please stay. Good value, although being on Main Street and midweek, it was a bit noisy (trucks). Friendly, well maintained and clean establishment. Restaurant food was good and reasonably priced.
Rooms were clean and neat, although the second room needed some maintenance. TV was not secured neatly, the air con was not working properly and one tap in the bathroom needed a new washer. There was no coffee or milk in the rooms. Only tea and sugar. We should have known, but did not, that a hotel with rooms facing the N1 would be subject to a lot of noise. The constant noise of trucks passing through made it almost impossible to sleep. The restaurant had the worst possible food. Totally tasteless and overpriced. Even the cake was bad.
The Hotel is situated right next to the main road, with 30-50 trucks per hour, 24/7, travelling along it.
