Cullinan Lakeview Cottage is a mere half an hour’s drive from Pretoria and about an hour from Johannesburg. The cottages nestles quietly in one of the most popular areas of Cullinan, only minutes away from the infamous Petra Mine. It has spectacular views overlooking the Cullinan Lake and enjoys the distinction of being one of the safest, oldest and most beautiful towns in Gauteng.
Cottage 1 comprises 3 rooms of which 2 are en-suite and 1 has a separate bathroom. Guests have access to communal facilities such as a comfy lounge and dining area, and a fully equipped kitchen. The cottage can be booked per room or as a whole. The cottage has its own tranquil patio, that has a closed braai area for the winter. It also boasts a beautiful shady garden with beautiful trees and rustic art. There is also an outside braai and seating area for summer that overlooks the lake.
Cottage 2 is a larger cottage that can accommodate up to 10 guests. The cottage comprises 4 bedrooms of which 2 bedrooms have a double bed, a third bedroom with 4 single beds and a fourth bedroom with 2 single beds. Two of the bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms while the other rooms make use of 2 separate bathrooms. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering purposes. Guests have access to a large, enclosed patio with braai facilities that overlook the lake and a garden with abundant birdlife.
The cottages are perfectly positioned to allow you to get the most from your stay. Built in the late 1930’s, these rustic cottages retain much of the architectural beauty synonymous with the area. Jan made it very easy for us to check-in, it was cost-effective, clean and convenient.
The only complaint I have is that we were only given half a roll of toilet paper for the 2 nights.

We were a group of 4 of which 2 were from the Netherlands. We had a great time and were able to walk to the shops and restaurants. Great spending the evening in the backyard overlooking the water.
This was our 2nd time at Lakeview Cottage and was once again impressed! The place was painfully neat and the bedding fresh. The garden was beautiful and led to a lazy walk on the grass under the trees. Also met Louise, very pleasant. Will definitely visit again!

Neat place with a beautiful garden. Enjoy relaxing under the cool trees and the leisure area was well-stocked! Will recommend Lakeview Cottage. Just one point, it is advertised that there is Jacuzzi, but it was out of order. This was disappointing.
Everything was nice and clean and rooms were comfortable. It met my expectations.
The place is very beautiful. More suitable for e.g. two households. Great barbecue comfort under roof. Just a pity there isn't a TV. You would like to watch TV tonight if you were out during the day.
I don't think the name Lakeview Cottage does justice to the view of the mine's acidic waste water, landlords also need to adjust their facilities on the website, the jacuzzi is locked and out of order! Unacceptably sorry! How about a freshly baked biscuit, no milk in the fridge. The toilets have fans in them but have a sewage smell when you open the door.
The coffee, tea and sugar could have been packed in bags. The containers were unacceptable, and provision could also have been made for milk or milk powder. Very cute houses, great to see how our history played out.
Our second visit and once again it was excellent!
