A beautiful spot to rest and enjoy incredible nature and views. Cottages are well-equipped and clean and beds are comfy. Lovely to have horses, dogs, and geese around for animal lovers. Prepare for load-shedding by taking extra lights along. Will definitely be back!
What the pictures seen on the website show is not what we got.
It was my first time sleeping in a tent. But felt very unsafe. Because we were alone in a hole where there was no one else on the campsite. It's far from everything. What if something happened to us? These are just things to consider. Me and my fiancé were alone among those bushes in the Karoo. With many tents that were empty.

The place is so quiet and so beautiful, it's safe and breathtaking. I will return again anytime. There are 5 dogs on the farm but they don't do anything to humans, I think they are just there for safety reasons. The houses we stayed in were so nice and clean they had everything we needed.

A beautiful valley to look at. I would like to see them update the shower facilities. Shower curtains are really a thing of the past and creepy.
The place was very peaceful. If you like the "rustic" type of holiday then Langdam is right. Lots of hiking and cycling. It was a lot of leaks. We are all satisfied.
The cottage is tastefully and practically furnished. It is well equipped with a spacious bathroom and large fridge. The TV channels are somewhat limited. Guests do need to be better informed about limited/no dining options in the area.
The setting is beautiful, the facilities are good, but cleaning of the facility is not included. It's about 35 km from Montagu. The nature and peaceful surroundings were an experience.
Shepherd Cottage is on the other side of a dirt road (fast moving farm vans etc.) and just above a farm workers cottage. I feel we were misled by the photos. Shepherd Cottage in particular is not suitable for a visit with a toddler. It's right next to a relatively busy dirt road and is not part of the resort. Security is definitely a concern as there is effectively no security of any kind. The manager was very friendly and helpful, but in all honesty, we won't be going back. Just too many things that could go wrong and too far from the pond etc. as the photos illustrate.
Secluded. When it's dark, the stars in the sky brighten up and you experience nature when you wake up to the sounds of birds and farm animals. It's good for your soul. From arrival to the end of my visit I discovered the feeling in me, that I want to have a similar place of my own like Langdam to spend my retirement. It's heaven on earth.
The tents are very nice and we slept really well. You just take your clothes, food and drinks. Everything you need is there. Very neat and the owner is very friendly. We will definitely go again.

The tent accommodation was a great surprise. Very fully equipped with braai facility and grill. The facilities in the kitchen and bathrooms are neat and more than adequate. Nature is beautiful.
Apricot cottage is a cozy cottage with a view of the garden and fruit trees. During our stay it was freezing and the indoor fireplace was a life saver. The Eagle hiking trail is a must (must be quite fit to climb mountains) with beautiful fynbos and a very nice view of the farm with its vineyards. The pond (with rowing boat), farm pond with slide, spacious and well-kept lawns are a fantastic playground for children (the 5 dogs will love to play along). There are also safe climbing and swing facilities for the small team. We drove a scenic circular route from the farm to Montegu - all between the farms. Montagu has great places to eat for a lazy lunch or breakfast. The host and wife as well as the foreman, William, are comfortable people who immediately made us feel at home.

The accommodation was fantastic and the customer service was excellent. Will return again. Perhaps a road map would be suitable to guide you to the pond.
The photos create a perception that you are next to the dam with a view of the dam. That's not true. You have to walk 800 m to get there. The tents are not by a lawn, but on a hill surrounded by sand. The Pine Cottage is clean but very basic. I was very disappointed with what we got. We drove very far and had to stay. Will never go there again. The shop is a self-help room where the owner tells you you can "settle" when you leave. No, that's false advertising.
It is a children friendly spot with activities for a whole family. Starting with hiking, mountain biking, swimming and fishing. Away from busy town allowing to switch off and bond as a family. Would highly recommend and will certainly go back.
The farm is beautiful and calm. The wedding reception caught my eye. My children enjoyed and the dogs make you feel at home. We will miss Titan and Ranger.

Langdam really is a hidden gem, and we were so happy with everything. The cottage was spotless, the beds were comfortable and peace and quiet was just wonderful! We loved that we could take our dogs with us, and they so enjoyed the open space and fresh air. When we arrived the kitchen table was beautifully set with a vase of flowers, the kitchen had everything we needed, and the owner was so friendly and helpful. We really had a great stay and will definitely be back again!

The surroundings are beautiful and we could just sit on the porch and drown in the beautiful mountain in front of us as well as the pond in front of the house. The Pear Tree Cottage has the best location it overlooks the mountain and the pond and is far enough away without being bothered by other weekenders. There is a lovely pool and lapa to enjoy by the pond and the pool. The accommodation was very comfortable, nicely decorated, practically laid out and beautifully clean. The mattresses may be a bit thin and the towels could be replaced. Will come again anytime and have already recommended to others.

Secluded and beautiful. Lovely wide open spaces - we did the trail, fed the pigs, sat in the sun in the lapa and played games. Super nice and helpful people. We did day trips to Montagu (30 mins) and Matroosberg (1 hr). The fireplace helps in winter. The floors can be cold so pack some socks and warm clothes. We were blessed with great winter weather. Highly recommended if you want to get away from it all.

Apple Cabin is very practically furnished. The decor is beautiful. Everything one needs is there.
It was lovely. Just one problem, the drains at the communal shower area were blocked, the dirty shower water ran into the kitchen from both showers. But, the staff on duty were friendly and helpful.
Langdam-in-Karoo is an incredible farm, lots to do or you can just sit and look at the beautiful surroundings.
Langdam -in Koo highly recommended. We as a family really enjoyed our stay. House were perfect for the 4 of us. It was so peaceful and quiet. If I want a getaway from home and work this is the place to go. We as a family will definitely go back.
Place is fantastic, well equipped. DStv package may be upgradeable, current one is worthless. Free Wi-Fi? Office people not available for password or anything. Upper pond for swimming without water. Dogs are annoying and bother constantly. They may be partitioned on their own. Maybe a comfortable sofa for watching TV and/or a convertible bed so that you can also lie down and watch. Nice quiet area, nice views.

It was lovely, but felt a little isolated in our house, Guinea fowl cottage, because it was not near the main house, dam and entertainment area.
We left within 2 hours the same day we arrived . Realise it's a working farm, but treatment against ticks is essential in the camp. No feedback received from Langdam in Koo. Did notify the website.
After we were there we returned for one night. The linen is dirty, no wood is available and the farm workers' cottages are nearby. The second room's guests must walk across the room to the bathroom when others are sleeping. The place doesn't see me again.
Langdam was truly just a wonderful resting and visiting place for our whole family. We stayed for 4 days and went home with loads of memories. The mountain walk in nature was an experience on Christmas Day and we went swimming there. We stayed in the Guinea Fowl cottage, detached and private. It's about 300 m from the dam.
Our little house was well furnished, beautiful place, everything tidy. Cute braai place where we could braai. Garden is also neatly maintained with fruit trees and Christmas candles flowers in bloom. View over the pond with green lawn, swing bench and tree swing was just incredibly beautiful. Even going to see the pigs and experiencing the nice feeling of being on the farm was just fantastic.
We had a great time and especially the children loved the farm life.. The pond, the pigs, the dogs, even the cat! Really enjoyed the tent stay and the facilities are great. You don't need anything more. Definitely come again!

We followed another route from Robertson's side through Montagu and it was nice because we stopped at a lot of places en route to Langdam. Bit of a detour but very nice. Langdam is a peaceful place with a dam in which the children could swim, fish and boat while mom and dad rest and enjoy the sun. We stayed in the Pear Tree house and it was perfect for us. Langdam has the cutest dogs which is named after the cars Titon, Ranger, Shelby, Chevrolet and Cobra. They had a lot of fun with the kids. We will definitely visit again. A beautiful farm with comfortable cottages. Ideal for a getaway with your partner, friends or a special occasion. There is a variety of amenities for any occasion. Paths for jogging and cycling, or just to chill, or next to the fire, or next to the pond.

Had a lovely stay for the two days. The tents are well furnished, but for someone who is quite big, the mattresses are a bit thin. The atmosphere is peaceful and the kitchen part is well equipped. Older people would maybe not find it as comfortable.
The reception was excellent, friendly and very helpful. The Friday was very cold because it rained, so take warm clothes with you if you plan to go in winter time. The tents, toilets and all facilities were very tidy and everyone got along well. I would recommend it anytime for a quiet getaway from the city noise.

I booked for myself and my wife for 3 days. I booked a 2 sleeper tent without my wife's knowledge. On arrival, she wasn't keen on the tent situation. Your staff was fortunately helpful to allow us to upgrade to a cottage. We had a peaceful and restful time. Exactly what we came for. Will visit again.

We enjoyed the accommodation. A recommendation that we will make is that there must be more information in the house about the farm and where the dam is so that you can walk around and also the surrounding area.

The house is furnished with earthly tones, with quite low ceilings but quite well equipped. Lovely nature around the place but a little far from Montagu.
After a visit to Genadendal, Greyton and drive through Montagu, we felt very welcome at Langdam. Very tidy, farm atmosphere, quiet and just the right thing to relax. We spent the night in Shephards Cabin, a bit close to the road, but the traffic didn't bother us. Now and then a vehicle, but calm and quiet at night. The inside is beautifully decorated, with a lovely warming fabric. The beds sleep very comfortably. Grill on the porch and look out over the valley. The worker's house about 30 meters in front of us didn't bother either.
The accommodation is very neat and clean, we were just a bit surprised to see that our unit was not part of the "resort", and the plumbing in our unit and gave us quite a hard time. It definitely needs some work. The toilet does not flush well, and spreads water all over the place. Every time we had to dry up the seat and the floor around the toilet before we could use the toilet again. It also does not rinse well. We were also slightly unhappy that you have to leave at 10:00, and on top of that we still have to sweep, clean the barbecue, wash dishes etc. So you can't relax at all on the morning you check out, because you have to do homework. Then if one would like to use the facilities one has to pay additionally. We were also pretty pissed about the fact that the oar of the rowing boat was broken, so you can't use it.
I enjoyed the friendly service and the late check in time.

It's beautiful on the farm and the camping site is lovely. All you could need is available in the communal kitchen and the dam is also right there. We really enjoyed it and recommend it to all campers. It was great not to have to pitch tent ourselves. Would definitely go there again.
Will definitely not stay here again. The lady at reception was not friendly at all, she was more worried about her apricots that were lost somewhere. The rooms are to close to one another, you can hear everything the neighbours say, very noisy.
The interior is beautiful. We stayed in the Guinea Fowl house which is outside the farm in the veld. It is away from all facilities and we felt somewhat unsafe. We expected to be on the farm itself with the dam, lawn and lapa at our disposal, which was not the case.
Linen and towels are old and must be replaced. Basic necessities such as extra toilet paper not available. These are things you don't think to bring along if you don't know how far out of town the place is. Beautiful scenery, was nice to see that area. This is a place where a family or single couple can unwind for a day or two.

Our weekend at Langdam-in-Koo was unforgettable! Friday's lovely rainy weather actually made the evening even more enjoyable. There's a lovely fireplace in the suite that we stoked all night to keep the cold away. The fireplace burned all weekend long. On Saturday morning we walked up the mountain and enjoyed the most beautiful view, and in between the barking of a herd of baboons above us on the top, got engaged. What an experience! We also picked up beautiful crystals along the way for souvenirs for the weekend. Besides the delicious barbecue outside on our porch, there is also a two-plate gas stove outside next to the barbecue area, where we made a lamb stew on Saturday evening. There is also a two plate stove in the kitchen, ideal for breakfast. We didn't know what type of cookware the place had, and since we planned to cook big, we decided to bring our own dikboom iron pot, which was a very good decision, since there are only aluminum pots. I would recommend Langdam-in-Koo to anyone who wants to enjoy a quiet, romantic weekend in nature - away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Very nice stay. Unfortunately we could only stay one night and then we were on our way again. Very peaceful and you can really relax. Beautiful view over the mountains with the dam. Gorgeous to see the stars at night. Closest town in Montagu, about 30 km far. So just make sure you've packed everything. Other than that the cottages had everything needed for self-catering.

The unit is far from the main part - right next to a main gravel road between workers' houses. Such a disappointment and not the value we paid for. And considering what we paid a cleaning service should be included.
Although the Koo valley is beautiful, the accommodation was not what we expected. The reception was also very impersonal - almost as if they didn't expect us. The self-catering unit was not surprisingly equipped, which made self-catering difficult, especially 30 km from Montagu.
We had a nice stay in the guest house after a nice day at the Wacky Wine festival in the Robertson area. It was very cold but we had a nice fire in the living room. The building next to the dam (as in the ad) has nice braai facilities, if people don't want to braai at the guest house. This place we see again. Charles, Estelle, Cas, Alta and Irma.

We were looking for silence from the city's noise and hustle and we certainly found it here. The children rode bikes (and bought land), swam, went boating and learned to fish. There had been good quality time as a family. What was a surprise is that there is a small shop to buy your essentials which saved us driving into town! Would highly recommend for people looking for a quiet getaway and just want to be woken up by birdsong in the mornings.

We had a fantastic long weekend. There are enough things to keep our two boys (8 & 12 years old) occupied all day, so that we adults can just "chill". We loved Baaa (the tame black sheep), Crowley (the fat, black cat), and the potbelly who keeps yard geese at bay. The boys have already asked when we are coming back because they want to catch more "bass"...

The only problem I experienced was regarding breakages on-site, but I trust we sorted it out with Langdam-in-Koo via email correspondence after our stay. Other then that, the place is awesome, and my boss is very much interested in visiting.
The weekend was so peaceful and beautiful. It was the perfect breakaway out of Cape Town. The scenery was magnificent and the animals on the farm was adorable. The cottage was pretty and cozy. It was very cold outside when we arrived and so we made a "kaggeltjie" inside and we braaied outside. Would surely go back again.
If you like a farm atmosphere and want to relax and maybe take a walk, then Langdam is the right place. The surroundings are beautiful and the facilities are good.
Very well informed in advance about the route to follow, what is offered for sale and the activities. Lovely, relaxed atmosphere. Precious farm animals that roam around tamely. Suitable place for family getaways. Very neat and well furnished. Can definitely recommend the "bread basket" - delicious!
We had a wonderful time relaxing in an overall peaceful and breathtaking atmosphere. The accommodation is very comfortable. We would definitely recommend it.
Would go to this area again, but the working farm was not relaxing which is what we were looking for. For guests peace and tranquility, I would highly recommend that the Chicken Coop / Run be moved away from guests rooms. It was not pleasant to be woken before sunrise every morning on holiday!! Otherwise, amazing!
We will be back! There are some amazing hikes and hidden treasures in the form of perfect crystals in the area. Also loved the pot belly pig.

Langdam offers lovely pre-set-up Safari tents for the summer months. There are 10 Safari tents set up amongst the trees. Each tent sleeps, 2 guests.
The main dam has a stone and timber lapa where guests can braai, enjoy the birds including geese, guinea fowl, ducks, peacocks and turkeys, swim, fish for bass, row a boat or just laze in the water on a tractor tube in true farm style. The pigs are also a big hit with the children. Langdam is also available for weddings and smaller events.
Unfortunately, the nearest vet hospital is in Robertson, 70 km away. Langdam will not be held accountable for any fatal injuries to your pets while they are on the farm. The Langdam family has 5 friendly dogs that call this farm their home and hope guests will love them as much as we do.
Langdam has something for everyone. It is a wonderful place for people who have an interest in photography, painting, hiking, mountain biking, stargazing, fishing and relaxing.
