28 guests' feedbackIt was such a lovely weekend with my partner. If you want tranquility, it is the place to be. The host was such a nice lady.
We all had a lovely stay. The rooms were beautiful and cosy. The lapa was a nice area to come together to chat.
Fast easy booking, affordable and even better than what you'd think for the price. Owners were great, friendly, and willing to ensure our stay was extra pleasurable. Great location and a perfect place to unwind, enjoy the quietness of nature. As a birder, I spotted some great sightings from the patio, which was an added experience.
Wonderful, helpful and great hostess and her family. Accommodation itself was super nice, comfortable and in a beautiful setting. We will be back for sure.
We travel regularly for business and this is the first place I am excited about. The accommodation was amazing, truly felt like a hideaway as the name suggests, the hosts are so friendly and accommodating and the food is just out of this world. We have found our forever accommodation when we come to PE again, without a doubt. Do we have to go home, that's all I want to know.
Peaceful and a good place to rest.
It was amazing! We only had a problem with the hot water, which was kind of annoying, but other than that we had an amazing stay!
It's a home away from home. Peaceful and beautiful. The owners are very sweet, friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend.
The Lily Pond and woodland path are lovely to relax by.
Lovely peaceful location in the forest and a very considerate hostess who makes sure you are constantly informed and not inconvenienced. A big bonus is the joint lapa, which is furnished down to the finest detail for a very pleasant stay or campfire.
We arrived quite late from Cape Town so we didn't get to enjoy the day there, but what we can tell you is the hospitality we arrived to was unmatched. Communication with the host was seamless before arrival. The host met us in the rain and showed us our stunning room. In conversation we mentioned how we forgot to buy wine in Cape Town and he so kindly gave us a bottle from his private cellar which was just a beautiful gesture. The décor was absolutely stunning, pictures don't do it justice, all round we had a beautiful evening and everything was catered for. Due to the water shortage in the area we were not able to use the bathtub which was sad as we really looked forward to it after such a long drive, but the hot shower and good pressure was a good substitute. Thank you very much, we plan on staying longer next time we travel.
We booked out the 3 rooms as a big family to celebrate my father's 70th birthday. Beautiful, clean lapa facilities and lovely rooms, 1 being pet friendly too. Wonderful host and staff. Came from JHB and it was good to be back home in PE at a lovely, peaceful venue. Perfect place for a little breakaway or celebration.
Unfortunately would not recommend to anyone. We felt unsafe because it is literally on the road and there was not enough lighting when we got home late. The room smelled "musty" all the time because I don't think it is left open. The owner should invest in an extractor fan or something, because the bedding felt wet the whole time. One day I left my clothes on the bed and when we got home my clothes were wet.
Friendly reception, quite calm and fantastic. Can't wait to relax there again soon. Thank you Tania and Alan, you made us feel very special and at home.
If you are looking for the perfect hideaway, this is it. From the welcoming to the goodbye, I am speechless. Thank you Tania.
We are locals but it served as a good place just to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The environment is really therapeutic.
We stayed here for a lovely 2 nights and the host and hostess are both very friendly and helpful. The communication is thorough and we will definitely visit and recommend L'auberge again. They are dog friendly which was another bonus for us of course. Great accommodation among the trees and it feels like you are in nature, beautiful!
A place where you can fully just "Netflix and Chill" in the silence and beauty of nature.
Very cramped and freezing cold, definitely not a good choice in winter, photos very misleading.
A peaceful and relaxing stay. I would highly recommend this for anyone in or outside of PE.
Just 15 min outside the city and you feel like you are in the middle of the wilderness.
Enjoyed the stay. Beautiful scenery and lovely set up. Close to the beach and not to far from restaurants.
Great place in a beautiful setting.
Beautiful, peaceful environment to escape to. Really enjoyed the silence and the beautiful view. And it's within driving distance of everything. Will definitely visit again.
It really feels like you're in the middle of the forest. Everything is beautiful, luxurious and neat.
Set in a beautiful location away from the hustle and bustle. Perfect for nature lovers and those who want to escape. Only drawback was the accommodation is to close to the road, thereby breaking the peace every now and again with a vehicle roaring past.
Very nice place ─ people who like nature and silence will enjoy the place. Will go back again.

Guests have shared use of the communal Nature Lapa which contains a kitchen for self-catering, a dining area, and a lounge area, as well as braai facilities. Please leave the Nature Lapa in a pristine condition so that other guests can make use of it.
Thank you for turning all lights off when you leave the Nature Lapa!
When you book, take note that you book for yourself and one other. If you invite anyone onto the property it is by arrangement with the owners and a fee might apply. Yes to quiet partying as this is a nature venue.
Smoking is permitted outside the room. Please use the ashtrays provided. This is forest and the EC is dry so all cigarette butts need to be in the ashtray as they would start a fire. Also, we thank you for closing the windows/doors so that smoke doesn't trail into the rooms.
Braai facilities are only available at the Lapa in the fire pit due to the closeness of the vegetation.
Small and medium, well-behaved dogs are welcome only by prior arrangement and in the Bluegum Room. If you do bring your fur baby then excessive barking is not allowed. Thank you for picking up and disposing of any droppings. Be aware and sensitive to the other guests who might not be dog lovers. Our 3 dogs are great dog hosts.
