We had a great time at Laventelbos. The location is very nice, you can see and smell the sea from the house. Lots of space for children to play and cycle safely. The house is simple, but very nicely furnished with everything you need. We will stay there again if we get the chance.

The weekend getaway for our son's birthday was food for the soul on Laventelbos' beautiful seaside farm and spacious house with everything and more than was needed. The massive indoor braai that doubles as a fireplace created a warm, homely atmosphere and the goats and loving, well-mannered dogs on site made our weekend! The owners are hospitable and went the extra mile to make our weekend fantastic. The veranda with a swing sofa and sea view was special. The beds were comfortable and the large, comfortable bath a bonus. We would recommend this gem of a place to anyone and would love to go back again for a longer period of time. The path to the sea is safe and within walking distance. Lavender bush is WOW!

Jan was super welcoming when we arrived and the place was like a fairy garden with live springbok in the yard and some super cute blue duikers. I will definitely be going back to stay here again.
Because of the rain, the dirt road was a bit muddy, but that didn't discourage us.

The owners, Jan and Lettie are salt of the earth people who treat you like family. It was a privilege to be able to spend the few days there.
Nothing special. Was a place to stay.
Linen and crockery were dirty; large dogs roaming loose, danger to children; poor maintenance of accommodation.
So nice and relaxing with a great view and nice close to the sea with all the animals around you. Location is perfect. Owners are very friendly and helpful. My wife and I would definitely go again.

It's a very safe place to stay. Children can play around and enjoy all the goats and animals on the farm. Until our Yorkie was very comfortable.
It was very nice to stay there. Nice welcome by the owner, very friendly. We took our puppy with us and it really enjoyed playing with the owner's dogs as well as with the goats. Would definitely recommend especially if you want to get away from the city.

We were greeted on arrival by Jan and Lettie and immediately felt at home. Laventelbos is peaceful with a breathtaking view, really a must-go-again place.
It's just a pity that other guests invade your privacy by setting up the gazebo almost on your front porch and then they still have the audacity to throw their barbecue remains into the hostess's garden. But I suppose it takes all kinds of people to make the world go round.

Host is very helpful and friendly and has an infectious passion for his farming with game goats, we enjoyed feeding and petting the goats so much. Excellent value for money just a stone's throw from the sea. Open plan unit was tidy and kitchenette well equipped.
We had a great time, with two Staffordshire Terriers and two Yorkshire Terriers who became great friends with Spiker and Jessica (owners dogs). We will definitely go again, very safe and peaceful. Thank you Jan, Leti and Dawid, hope to see you again soon.

We settled into the main house and it was indeed a peaceful few days. We had a great time and barbecued in the fire pit if the weather permitted and on the other days the big indoor barbecue was a winner. The house is well equipped with all necessities and even the fishing was successful. The owner is also really friendly and if we needed something, he attended to it immediately.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in a clean and fully equipped cottage. The hosts were very helpful and friendly. And so was the beautiful dog. The walk past the Springbok, Nyala and Ostrich, then along the beach checking the rock pools was super. We had to ask for directions as Rooipitjie Street is not on any GPS or map so a tip that Laventelbos is 2.5 km of gravel road from the tarred section of Kusweg, would be useful. Exceptional value for money.

It was really a nature experience and I would like to visit it in the summer with my daughter and other family. The animals and scenery really did me good. I would really recommend it to friends and family for a getaway. The people were kind to us.
Nice house and area. It was nice to see all the wildlife roaming around the house. The water on site is not safe to drink. Had other water problems too (water ran out often and we had to contact the owner to help). The crockery/cutlery in the kitchen is not enough for all the guests. There are a lot of cobwebs and dust, the house should be cleaned more thoroughly before guests visit.
