There was an excellent little stretch of beach right in front of the main house that our cottage was on. It was so lovely, and cozy and everything was neat and well taken care of. Apartment has everything you might need for a nice short break.
Spacious, well equipped. By a beautiful beach and easy walking distance to Paternoster Waterfront.
The reason for a review is to inform future tenants that is not shown on the ad. It was nice to walk into a place that is so nice clean and tidy. With lights and a TV on, we felt very welcome. The sea view can be deceiving. This is an apartment at the back/side of the house and although the house is facing the sea, there is no sea view when you are in the apartment. You have to step out to see a piece of the sea and then walk to the front of the house to see the beautiful sea view, which one would not do if there are tenants in the house. Thank you very much for 2 types of tea and sugar. A little coffee would have been nice too. On the ad there are no pictures of the fridge. It is very small. We couldn't get all our stuff in. The place advertises that they have a mobile grill, but it's a Weber that makes grilling difficult. So, take your own braai with you if you don't want to struggle. It's a nice place for a night or 2.
There are no blankets to keep you warm or a heater. There is also no secure packaging. The payer is there every 5 min. No sea view.
Definitely worth it!
Plekkie is very nicely furnished. We were not communicated where to receive the key. It was not clearly indicated where we should enter for the cottage as it is part of the house. There was a power outage on Saturday - after that the DSTV (not a big issue), the internet (also not a big issue) and the geyser didn't come back on. Sunday morning's shower was not very pleasant. I tried to contact the owner on Saturday to relay the above - there was no reply and I continued to text. We have not received any communication back.
Only the fan was not in working condition due to a faulty wire which gave me a mild shock.
The cottage is tastefully furnished, with everything you need. So close to the quiet beach, perfect for walks along the beach, while the roar of the sea is the soothing remedy for a lovely afternoon nap.
Le Chaim Cottage is cutely furnished and nicely dressed. It has a very good location - away from the busier part of Paternoster's business center and right next to one of the beaches. The Cottage is located at the side of the main house (Le Chaim House) which is rented separately. We felt slightly uncomfortable using the path that runs next to the house towards the sea, because it felt like we were disturbing the house's residents. However, this was not a problem, just something to consider.
It was absolutely beautiful. There is everything you need for two people and just a few steps from a beautiful beach. It is also walking distance to everything in Paternoster. We enjoyed our vacation very much!
We found the accommodation very comfortable. Well equipped and tidy.
Le Chaim cottage is well equipped, neatly maintained and perfect for 2. The cottage's decor is beautiful and perfect for a romantic getaway. The cottage is by the sea, but also private! It's ideal for "sundowners" and for going for a walk or jog. Nice picture!
The advertisement on the web page is slightly misleading, you would think you have a pretty typical Paternoster sea view, but unfortunately the apartment is behind the house, so you only have a view if you walk around to the front of the house.

Please note that the cottage is attached to the main house and has a limited sea view.
Key- and breakage deposit:
Key- and breakage deposit is payable with the deposit for the booking and refundable by bank transfer within 5 - 7 working days after departure, once the house has been scrutinised and all found in order. Please note that the key deposit will be retained and additional charges imposed if more guests than booked are found to be utilising the premises. Please furnish us with your banking details on arrival. Keys will not be handed over under any circumstances unless the key and breakage deposit has been received.
Minimum stay required:
2 nights in low and mid-season
3 nights over long weekends
4 nights over Easter weekend
7 nights in high season
Guests must first visit our offices to check in and get their keys.
When entering Paternoster, turn left at the four-way stop. The 'Stay in Paternoster' office is situated about 75m further, on the right-hand side of the road, at 87 St. Augustine Road.

Check-out time: Strictly at 10h00 on the last day of your stay, unless otherwise arranged. Any unit that is not vacated by 10h00 will be subject to a surcharge of R 200 per hour or part thereof, for each hour exceeding the check-out time.
