Only 1.5 hours away from Jhb, so easy to get to. Lovely restaurants and interesting shops to browse around in the area. So many interesting things to look at and enjoy.
Once again a nice stay in a clean, affordable place with hospitable people. See you again next year.

The welcome was warm, we hadn't even reached the reception desk when we were greeted by name. The location is perfect - not too far from the shops and places to eat. The rooms are cleaned and refilled every day. It is really only necessary to bring clothes, otherwise there is everything you may need. I really haven't been this impressed in a long time.

It would be nice to enjoy breakfast on site. Especially if you have early morning appointments. Loadshedding and guests checking in at 4am was somewhat uncomfortable.

From arrival to departure the hospitality and cleanliness was remarkable. Location is very good and O's restaurant just a block away from the hotel.
All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The staff were genuinely friendly and could provide all information. The room was well furnished and very practical, where everything was thought of down to sufficient double point plugs. The parking space was unfortunately used indiscriminately by other guests, but the management is aware of this and is already addressing the problem. The accommodation is not located on the busy main street and yet conveniently close to everything. We were highly satisfied and will use the accommodation again, as well as recommend it to family and friends.
We wanted to stay within walking distance of the main street and Le Gran Chateau is ideally suited for this.
It's a shame they were still doing renovations when we visited. Unfortunately could not enjoy breakfast or the bar for drinks. But would love to visit again once the renovations are complete.
We had a function and stayed over during a weekend when there was not electricity and water in Parys for a few days. They went out of their way to accommodate us. Kept the generator running, I could even use my hairdryer. They warmed water on a gas stove for us to wash ourselves.

Towels are old and broken. Guests were fighting and making noise. Saturday night we couldn't locate anyone at reception.

We had to travel 300 km and had to make extra plans to bath and shower before attending a family gathering. Water was stream out the JoJo tanks. And nobody mentioned or asked us about the water when we checked out. Also the back area where we have to park looks like a scrap yard. Muddy, dirty. They can really make more of an effort to make the parking area more approachable.

We were a group of 10 cyclists requiring an early breakfast for our departure. We were spoilt with a lovely pack with sandwiches, cool drinks etc. A wonderful place to stay. Super friendly host by the name Diana, took care of all our requirements.
My teenage daughter and I had a wonderful stay. It's nice and central, so we just left our car at the hotel and walked around the town. Had a very nice breakfast at the hotel. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The room is spacious, clean and tidy. I definitely highly recommend it. Next time we will try the Spa as well.

Melodramatic woman's commentary. Value for money. Your star has fallen. I was there as a driver for a bunch of drunk men after a bachelors party. My idea was just to watch Netflix and rest. The ad said there was WiFi. The signal is so bad you can not even get Whatsapp messages via WiFi. I do not blame the hotel at all. I believe there is no good internet in the small town. If you are there and going to need a lot of internet or plan to use Netflix, buy an extra bundle or three. You'll also sleep well! Thank you for your great service and friendliness!
I loved everything about this place. Walking distance to Main Street where all the shops and restaurants are. Nice breakfast, clean rooms, quietness, helpful staff. It felt like home and we had a wonderful stay. I will go back the next time I'm in Parys.

Very pretty, clean, neat, delicious buffet breakfast. Warm welcome. We were taken to our rooms, everything was explained. Tiaan at reception was very hospitable. Reception area was very neat, I walked in and knew that we are going to have a good stay.
There wasn't enough parking on the inside, we had to park our vehicles in the street, the lock on the gate to the backdoor of the room is a joke, I recommend 24 hour security.

Nice overnight / weekend stay, which is clean and tidy with friendly and prompt service, but would not recommend for a longer stay due to a lack of view of the beautiful scenery of the area. A disadvantage is the limited lock-up parking area available. The plus point is that the hotel is within walking distance of most shops in town, which definitely offers value for money.

Very nice stay - the accessories in the room may just need attention. Neither of the two bedside lamps in the room worked, but otherwise the stay was nice and comfortable. Very central and close to the busy Bree street with all the antique and curio shops. We were warmly received at the reception area, welcomed with complimentary champagne after which a porter took us to the rooms. On arrival there we were able to place orders at the bar and a waiter delivered them to our rooms. The air conditioner and enormous bed were heavenly.

The hotel is about 150 m from the main road, a short walk and you're in town! It's close to all the restaurants and pubs and like 15 minutes' walk from the mall and other shops. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are neat and clean and affordable.
Le Grand Chateau offers neat, clean accommodation with air conditioning. Friendly, helpful staff and it is conveniently located near the heartbeat of Paris and the river.
Accommodation was nice clean and tidy. Only thing that bothered was the lighting in the room. The bedside lamps are very dim, and there is only one small dim light. This makes it difficult to read in the evening.

Please ensure secure parking for all guests. Upon arrival we had a parking spot behind the hotel. but we drove again in the evening and when we came back we had to park in the street because our parking space was no longer available. It shouldn't be a "first come, first serve" arrangement, nor have we been informed that it works that way anyway.
Stay was average. Black algae on the bathroom ceiling and crooked mirrors indicate that quality control is not functioning well.
Expected more. The parking was poor. They don't pay any attention to the little things in the room.

The mattress was amazing, I usually have a hard time sleeping on hotel beds, but this was a durable mattress and caused me to sleep very well. It's also very clean which I really appreciated.
Parking needs to be improved; there were too few for all the guests' vehicles.
Our family was in Paris for a birthday party and chose Le Grand Chateau to sleep over. They received us very kindly and the rooms were beautifully clean and tidy. The bed and pillows were a bit uncomfortable, but nothing serious. (One likes one's own bed). My mother, who was staying in her own room, had a TV that wasn't working, but it didn't bother her much. Otherwise, we cannot complain about Le Grand Chateau and will most likely stay there again.

The rooms are very nice and very comfortable. However, we were disappointed in the service. There was no control over the parking lot, by the time we arrived at the hotel, the lot was inaccessible due to haphazardly parked vehicles. So we had to park in the street for the night. The bar was also closed because the bartender had something at home. However, breakfast was the biggest disappointment. The food had clearly been sitting on the heaters for a very long time, we had to sit and wait for a long time for the only waiter to come and take the eggs' order. The floor in the dining hall was dusty, used tables were not cleared and there were ants everywhere. The worst part was that after breakfast we were informed that it was not included in the room rate. R80 per person was really too much for that breakfast and if I had known, I would definitely have gone somewhere else for breakfast.

We only had trouble reading at night, the lights too weak for that. "Other" guests made terrible noise until 4 o'clock in the morning which was very disturbing, we know you have no control over it. Your price was good, will definitely recommend you. Thank you very much.
