We had a great stay, thank you. The house is nice and tidy and contains everything one needs. The stoep is very nice with a very nice view. The indoor braai is a big plus, especially in winter!

We were attending a wedding at Joubertsdal so it was close enough to travel. We love nature and animals, so it was perfect, even though it was raining.
The simplicity of the place made me think that you don't need much in life and that's how I will like my little house. It was so "amazing" to breathe in the silence and witness the beauty of nature.
The place is cutely furnished with everything one needs. All that could possibly be added is a mirror for the ladies to do their hair and makeup. Unfortunately it rained a lot when we were there, so it rained in 2 places in the cottage and the bridge leading to the accommodation was washed away. Fortunately, the owners informed us of an alternative route. The scenery is beautiful! Maybe just something else to keep in mind that we didn't know ahead of time - we had quite a bit of trouble with signal (Telkom); there is no TV or WiFi; and it is about 1 km of dirt road that leads to the residences. The hostess, Landi, is very welcoming and kept us informed of the load shedding schedule.
The accommodation has everything you need for a peaceful getaway. The nature around and the absolute tranquility you experience from the stoep is special! You can't help but drive away relaxed. Definitely a must if you just want to escape the city life a bit, and explore more of Swellendam.

The Hoenderhok cottage is full of atmosphere and yet all the amenities are there. It reminds of old farm days.
There are many places to visit in the area. The cottage was clean and well equipped. We had a great time relaxing and the stars at night were incredible.
We stayed a little too short to experience the place properly, but everything was in order and we are happy with the place.
The Farmhouse met our expectations in terms of tranquility, with the sounds of the farm and a fireplace for cozying up inside. The antique and modern amenities made us feel at home and we will make a reservation again in the future.

We were pleasantly surprised. Everything was clean and tidy and it was clear that a loving hand was present in the decoration of Die Hoenderhok. The attention to detail was astounding. I was so happy to find decent utility knives in a holiday home! We really enjoyed our stay and hope to be able to return.

It's always nerve-wracking to go somewhere you (or someone you know personally) haven't been before. You never know what to expect. I can recommend anyone with a clear heart to stay at Die Hoenderhok. It was our best getaway ever. The houses themselves are furnished with everything you need. It is so cute inside and everything is clean and tidy. However, the best is outside. That view is just breathtaking and the silence is soul-invigorating. We went to sleep in the evenings with frogs and crickets singing us to sleep and woke up in the mornings with the cows mooing peacefully. There was no better way to start the day than to be able to sit outside with your first cup of coffee and take in the beauty. And that clear starry sky is indescribably beautiful. If you want to experience real peace of mind in the best environment and cutest house ever, go and visit Die Henderhok. We are already making plans for the next visit.

Beautiful location on a farm 10 km from Swellendam from Aston's side. Next to the Marloth Mountains. Cosy, clean accommodation for 4 people. Neat kitchen with a plate, kettle, microwave and big fridge. Fireplaces inside and outside. Full of character, feels like you are on a cattle farm. Quiet and beautiful scenery around you. Close enough to Swellendam to go to all of the attractions and go mountain climbing.

Close enough to Swellendam to pop in, but far enough for some quiet. Nice big place that easily accommodates 4 people.
It was neat and tidy, but a little culture shock.
Something different from the usual. The cottage is beautiful inside and well equipped. With the mountains practically on your doorstep and cattle grazing in the nearby camps, it creates a breathtaking image. Strongly reminiscent of Heidie's grandfather's place. Would definitely recommend for a lovely escape from the city.

This place is really unique and fantastic! The view over the mountains was fantastic! The only thing these owners might consider is a fan in the 2nd room, since the loft is extremely hot. The main bedroom's aircon only cools that one room down. But other than that, it was unforgettable and I would stay there again any time!

The Hoenderhok has a real farm atmosphere and is away from the city noise. Wonderfully located between the mountains and valley where the cows graze peacefully. Neat and safe. It was nice.
