Unfortunately, after checking in at Lemontenara, I found out that the gravel road leading to the accommodation was unsafe for motorcycles, which I travel with. The cattle grid crossing was extremely dangerous to cross by motorcycle as well. I was therefore forced to seek alternative accommodation.
Disappointed with the two units. House no 3 - microwave rusted inside, looks like something exploded in freezer and not cleaned. Grill was in a very terrible condition and grill (bricks) is so crooked it looks like it's going to fall over and TV didn't work. Bath mats and towels are in very poor condition. House no 4 - no grill. Towels also thin. Wouldn't swim in the pool at all, it was green and dirty.
Pleasant stay, would return.

We had a peaceful night would have liked to stay longer but had to get home everything was clean and tidy. Then the grill may need a little attention, but otherwise we enjoyed every moment.
The area needs to be lighted up, especially when it gets dark. The area got dark and children was unable to play. Also when we braai'd we struggled due to no light - we had to use a torch.
Beautiful surroundings and plenty of rest. Table with bench outside was a bit full of cobwebs, otherwise very pleasant.
As stated, it's not bad for the price, but not worth recommending. The bedding was clean and comfortable, but the unit is not the nicest. The area is pleasant enough. They supply drinking water, but it appears that they neglect to occasionally wash out the drinking water container. It had worms in.
Neglected and needs a lot of attention. Linen and towels are of poor quality and tired. Cutlery is such that you don't want to use it. Will not stay there again or recommend.
We were received very hospitably and felt like pure farm. Peaceful getaway cottage. Pool and TV were a nice surprise. Wish we could stay longer.

Kitchen cleanliness needs attention. Pool not available (was still winter) but explanation after a beautiful waterfall made up for it, not for swimming but a lovely picnic area.
The place is very hot in summer. Only one fan which was in the lounge. I did send the owner an email with my complaints, but no feedback.
The setting is beautiful. Beautiful bird life early mornings. Was our second visit and will stay again overnight.
We had a very nice stay, it was very cold. The cottage had a heater and warm blanket on the bed which was very welcome, will definitely go back again. Petro was very friendly and helpful with the directions.

Quiet location, but lacks a lot of maintenance on building site, braai facility as well as the pool. Reception was friendly but would not stay there again. Although the price sounded good, I think they should upgrade to justify it.

The directions to Lemontenara are wrong, but Petro sent a pin and gave us directions over the phone. Our cottage was equipped for self-catering, but since you are far from shops, you have to bring everything you need with you. The interior decoration is old and not up to 2018 standard. Gas heater and bathtub were big pluses as it was very cold. The bedroom was small and the bed is at the minimum standard.
Bed linen and towels below standard. Two-sheet cloth dirty and rusted. Didn't feel comfortable using kitchenware, used our own.
It wasn't clean. Old, shabby, full of cobwebs, smelling stuffy and like smoke. Used my own eating utensils - was not comfortable with what was available as the rest of the house is not clean. Bedding was also full of marks so we just stayed there as my parents were exhausted and tired after a long day on the road.
Place was full of bugs and dirty.

It was truly a safe, pleasant and peaceful overnight destination between Cape Town and Grahamstown. The service was friendly with very clear directions to destination. Units are well equipped with everything required for self-catering accommodation.
We only stayed there 1 night on our way to PE. People were friendly and helpful. Place was neat and quite well furnished. We would have liked a table and chairs too, but for a one night stay it was okay. The directions to the farm were not very clear - we had to stop at 2 road forks and look for the signs before we spotted them - the signs are there, but not very noticeable. But we would stay there again.
The general feeling of the accommodation is worn. The bedding and towels should be replaced and Huise no, 2 shouldn't bee rented as enough space for 4. The mattresses are very thin. There is no table to eat at. In the bathroom there is only 1 nail for a towel - nothing to hang another towel on. Nowhere to place toiletry bags or put your clothes except on the floor.
The tranquility was so nice, the bleating of the sheep in the morning was beautiful. Unbelievably beautiful sunrise.
Petro very helpful and friendly. Beds very comfortable. Would only recommend that a coffee table be installed against the wall of the living area where one can sit and eat.

We enjoyed our stay in a fairly basic cottage but have never stayed somewhere where nobody has checked that we were all right and everything was in order. Fortunately, it was.
Here is a nice place, but it's not in good condition. It's clean, but there are ants everywhere.

Didn't get unit 3 which was booked, when I asked for unit 4 it said it was not available. Someone else was in unit 3 and 4 was empty. Unit 2 needs a good cleaning (cobwebs). The footpaths should be better designated.
Everything was clean, tidy, everything worked and Petro even made an extra effort to deliver firewood for us. We enjoyed it very much.

Lemontenara was the ideal place to stop overnight on the way from Cape Town to East London. Everything was neat and clean. The pool was very welcome on a very hot day. We stayed there again on the way back.

The service was good but the farmhouse was not what I expected. It was dirty and there were a lot of flies. We were 6 people and found that 1 toilet is not enough. The kitchen sink and faucets need work. The farm was nice and quiet but it's a bit far from anything. The braai place on the stoep is nice. DStv was also available. Thank you.

We arrived very late on a stop over between Cape Town and East London. Despite our late arrival we were met with great hospitality and service at Lemontenara. Absolutely loved the feel of the place, will defiantly stay again.
The unit is really spotless and has everything you need. The nature and waterfall are a bonus and the tranquility of the farm is unforgettable. Very friendly people.
Lemontenara is a clean, beautiful and peaceful place. I would recommend it to anyone looking for some peace and quiet. We were a group of 8 friends who are in our 20's and we had such a great time. Lemontenara is truly a place that people of all ages will enjoy.

Excellent location with space to walk, visit waterfalls, watch birds and farm life. Comfortable and clean cottages with all that is needed.
We really only slept over at Lemontenara, but it was excellent. We will definitely come back and stay longer.
Access to the dams needs to be improved and water weed and reeds cleared. Better signage to waterfalls is required (though this is not their fault). Pedestrian access over cattle grids is needed. Otherwise, fantastic customer service and very safe.
Directions from the road could possibly be a bit clearer. Other than that, no complaints. Petro is a very kind and friendly person who makes you feel at home. Would stay again anytime.

The environment was very beautiful and peaceful, Petro helped immediately if there was a problem. Unit 2 needs maintenance and a decent cleaning. The bathroom can be painted.
The ponds on the farm are insufficient for fishing. One pond is overgrown with reeds and inaccessible. The other, larger pond is full of water grass and no "spinner" for Black Bass gets through the water grass. If the ponds are not cleaned, please be removed from the accommodation's list as far as fishing is concerned. The house is cleanly painted but full of cobwebs up on the ceiling, which can be easily removed with a long duster.
Spacious, clean and tidy accommodation. There was everything one could need, even a washing machine!
We had a great time chilling. The friendly, helpful reception and free pedicure were top notch!
