39 guests' feedbackLetaba River Lodge is absolutely stunning! Everything was perfect and this is definitely a place I will recommend! My expectations were exceeded!
Comfortable 1 night stay. Interaction with animals definitely the highlight. Nice simple restaurant menu with decent prices.
Excellent service, location, rooms are clean, meals are excellent value. We'll definitely stay there again next year on our way to the game park.
We were that way for work and previously stayed at another place which was not nice at all, but Letaba River Lodge was great. Will definitely come again.
On arrival we were greeted very hospitably, however we got there before the suggested time and the room was immediately available, which we really appreciated as the roads were incredibly busy and we were quite exhausted. Rooms are very neat and the fact that there was "air con" in the room made it easier as it was very hot. We would suggest that they might have a microwave in the room, as we had a barbecue and there were no facilities to heat it up afterwards. No cutlery either, especially considering it's a self-catering unit and braai facilities are made available, but otherwise we really enjoyed the weekend, beautiful place and very well looked after.
Was welcomed and referred to our room. We enjoyed the tranquility and listened late into the outside part of the restaurant to the sounds of nature. The lions that roar regularly were awesome.
Accommodation was neat and spacious.
Friendly people, helpful, few small problems. Need small fridge in units. Am a diabetic, no place for insulin. Direction to office is not entirely clear. Staff at animals very well trained.
It is a great place with a lot of potential, but the accommodation needs renovation and attention. To give an idea of what was wrong with our sleeping quarters: It was very dirty ─ hadn't been cleaned for a long time, fake eyelashes, hair clips and clothes tags were lying around. Half the lights didn't work. The TV did not have a remote and if you try to adjust the sound, the TV turns itself off. Half of the sliding doors had no locks. The fridge could not be set because the knob on the inside was broken. The interior light of the fridge also did not work. The sinks in the bathroom did not have cold water. It's not a big thing to fix, but it will make a difference.
Braai facilities at the units will be an asset. Television had no control. Grounds and buildings need attention. The rooms were very neat and clean. Food in the restaurant was really prepared to taste and the prices were also very reasonable. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. We will knock there again.
It was very nice and will go again. Needs some attention and needs to clean the place a little better. But the service was excellent and the people friendly and helpful.
We stayed one night and went home the next day, we couldn't grill, no lights worked, grill full of wasps. Had to hear because the wedding there was no parking near the guest house.
Rooms dirty, definitely needs an upgrade or renovation. In the pool, there were big ladies talking out very loud, not wearing any bras. Indecent.
We really enjoyed the game drive. The previous night the roar of the lions were truly something!
It was a wonderful place. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was excellent. Beautiful place with a very nice view.
Value for money, would highly recommend.
Very neat accommodation with friendly and helpful staff.
We really enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly and the rooms were lovely. Having the lions roar all around you in the evening and morning was special to us. The food was okay, but it could improve. I would suggest they send the chefs for a bit of training. It would then be a top destination place.
The rooms were clean and tidy and were cleaned every day as well. It contains a kettle and teacups. It's nice if you need somewhere to sleep over, but I wouldn't suggest it as a break itself as some of the rooms are very close to reception and therefore very noisy from early on. Because of the educational opportunities, there are also many schools during the day, which is great, except if you want to be quiet. The people who drive the school buses also play very loud music. The grounds are beautiful, except for visiting groups who leave their rubbish everywhere. The people who work there are very friendly and helpful. Only once did we not get service at the restaurant and then just drove, but the rest was excellent. Food is tasty and value for money. Small fridges in the rooms would be a great asset.
Value 4 money out of season, they are busy fixing and improving the facilities but the peacocks and the turkeys will keep you awake at night. Great predator park, friendly staff. Health pillows too hard.
Definitely not for the elderly, way too many stairs. Although the decor and surroundings were nice, the 5 small cookers by the boiler, the large one on the wall, the TV that didn't work and the bar that had no ciders or wine soured the visit.
The bedding in the room was slightly dirty. There were no extra blankets. One day fresh towels were not brought to the room and the old ones were taken and therefore we could not shower properly. The power was down for a while during the day when we wanted to get ready for dinner with friends and could e.g. not blow hair or charge our phones. The lions make it very disturbing to sleep in the evening and the turkeys and partridges start to keep you awake in the early morning. There were also some of the staff who started sawing and welding things early in the morning which made it very unpleasant to have a good rest (the reason for the stay was to rest). It is incredibly beautiful there, but Letaba makes it difficult to fully enjoy it.
Letaba River Lodge made us feel very much at home with their hospitality. Workers are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are very neat and clean. Facilities are very clean. Would definitely go again anytime!
From our arrival we were received with friendliness by the staff and can also add that the smell of the food in the restaurant made my mouth water! The room was very neat though simple, with everything you could need for a short getaway. We had a comfortable night's sleep and the bathroom is really something to write home about! The evenings couldn't end without a lovely bubble bath in the corner bath! Friday evening we braai'd next to the swimming pool with the roars of lions as background music. The Saturday was unforgettable when we could interact with the animals, go on a game drive and also did the "Leeu Loop". Can also mention that during these activities the staff were so friendly and kind not only to us, but also to the animals. The animals are treated with so much love and respect and vice versa. It was truly wonderful to say how excited (if I can call it that) these wild animals get when their "handlers" talk to them and play with them. The guides are very well trained and tell you very interesting facts about all the animals. During the Lion Walk where we walked with big lions in the veld, the guides really went out of their way to make us feel as relaxed and comfortable as possible and at the end all of us were comfortable with these giant majestic animals and didn't want to say goodbye! The evening we had a good night's sleep and had an affordable meal at the restaurant. The food was tasty. The kids enjoyed the table tennis and snooker a lot. Both our children (9 and 17) always had something to do and enjoyed the weekend tremendously. Thanks to the management who went out of their way to make everything as convenient as possible and even arranged that my youngest son could play with the lion cubs because he was too short for the Lion Walk. It made his day when he could give milk to the cubs! Will I visit Letaba River Lodge again? Absolutely!
Beautiful area. Somewhat neglected.
Lovely place and pretty food, it just doesn't taste good. Think they should work on that.
Beautiful place, service just bad! From reception to the bar tender. Can also get more TV channels. SABC 1, 3 and eTV and 2 Supersport channels are all that they have.
Great weekend, really enjoyed it. Amazing place and will go back. Good service and everything was clean.
I can definitely recommend Letaba River Lodge. The staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms are very neat and clean and the site itself is very neat and clean. We really enjoyed the animals. The animals are well cared for and the guides who take you to interact with the animals are very friendly and well trained. There is only one word - fantasies. Will use them again anytime and their rates are fair. And not to mention the most amazingly delicious food! All compliments to the cook. The food is fantastic.
The accommodation is good value for money. The reception was so-so and was a bit slow and not very helpful. The room was neat with nice decor and well equipped. Dinner was a big disappointment. The menu was not acceptable - sausage with cooked chicken pieces, tastelessly prepared and the serving was poor.
The water pressure was pathetic. The second day there was no water and we had to use another unit's bathroom! Staff were very helpful, especially the guides with the animals.
It is a beautiful place ideal for functions. The experience with the animals is very special. But they can easily revamp their menu.
The room's one wall was full of mold which made the room stuffy. The glass door and windows on the balcony were broken. The other guests were so noisy that we couldn't sleep. They sat outside the rooms drinking beer and dancing outside until what time of the night. The lodge had no wine at all and the menu is very basic. We did not have a good experience.
Letaba River Lodge is a pleasure to visit and I would recommend it to anyone anytime! It is very peaceful and the animals were a great pleasure to watch.
Beautiful place, quiet, just what is needed to forget a bit of the hustle and bustle of life and the staff are very friendly and hospitable. Will go there again for a longer period. Thank you very much sleep leak
