The unique feature of this cottage is the outside patio that has the best views of the gardens and faces the communal braai area as well as the kid's entertainment centre.
On-site facilities includes a swimming pool, a braai area, secure parking, Wi-Fi and conferencing facilities. Meals are available on request. Pets are welcome by prior arrangement.

17 guests' feedbackPhotos are misleading. Pool showed it was on the same site and was on a different site, couldn't use the pool as thought to keep kids busy. It was very bad. By 11am there was no service in the unit. WiFi was constant problem and completely down by Saturday. WiFi is not a luxury, it's a necessity.
We would recommend Lincoln Cottages Nederburg and Backsberg Cottage to anyone that is looking for accommodation in Pietermaritzburg.
With the loadshedding being a constant issue in South Africa, I would have preferred an alternative to candles. Loadshedding globes or lights would have been great as the candles were quite dim. Also, it would have been nice if the owners would have provided a loadshedding schedule so the guests are aware of the times the lights would be switched off.
Lincoln Cottages are very affordable, clean and the owners are very friendly. We spent 2 days there, we got our breakfast on time every morning and it was delicious. Check in and check out was quick and easy. We will see them again next year.

Accommodation was comfortable, everything was clean and tidy. Top notch decoration. TV according to my taste available. Meals were delivered according to order in residential unit at specified time. Owner and spouse were always friendly and courteous. Security was more than adequate. No unnecessary rules that made the stay difficult. I can recommend it with the utmost confidence, especially for larger groups. Overseas visitors will really enjoy it and find it particularly affordable. Thanks to the manager and his spouse for exceptional service. Will definitely, if the opportunity presents itself, stay there again.

The accommodation itself was neat and met our needs. Unfortunately, the area and garden around the apartment/cottage were not tidy. We didn't want to sit outside because it was simply not tidy and cooked enough. It looked a bit untidy and there was a type of container that was placed against the cottage and it really didn't look fresh. The space between the container and the cottage was so small that early the next morning a worker/gardener walked past our window to get between the container and the cottage.
Loved every minute there!
Everything was neat and clean. The cottage was well equipped. Breakfast was delicious and wonderfully prepared. Will definitely recommend Lincoln Cottages.

Awesome place to stay with great facilities and close to where we needed to be.
Hosts were very accommodating and went out of their way to help, it was a pity about the weather, but enjoyed the time spent here regardless. Must be great to be here when the weather is good.
