From the moment you walk into the place your breath is taken away. From the beautiful decor, swimming pool, ice cold air conditioner and good conversation and cold drinks I feel that the place is actually a 5 star establishment. We were there at the end of January with 40 degrees outside. Was the air conditioner vital. What a beautiful place and beautiful hostess. Attuned to the finer details. How nice it was to step out of the warmth into a room where the air conditioner had already been turned on for our arrival. You were a wonderful hostess and we look forward to seeing you again when we are in your beautiful place.
Linda's Shell is truly a Namakwa treasure chest in the Bokkeveld. Would definitely recommend her place to anyone touring the area.

The place is lovely, with many comfortable spaces: by the fire, on the patio, etc. The room was great, despite the fresh paint smell. The cost of the meals, however, was a deterrent. Dinner is R325 per person and R295 per person for breakfast. I have never eaten breakfast at a restaurant for R300, and unfortunately the bacon was burned.

We stayed in Linda's Dop guest house for 3 days on 8 September 2023 — what a gem of a guest house — great service from all the staff and owner, anyone can stay there with peace of mind, safe parking, nice breakfast, would recommend Linda's Dop anytime.

When we arrived, Linda suggested that we immediately check the flowers around because the next day it will rain. What a great suggestion. There are electric blankets which were lovely as it was cold and wet. Would recommend the dinner suggested by Linda. The food was great as was the breakfast. This is a must overnight stay in Nieuwoudtville.
It was all that and more.
Linda is a dedicated hostess. We felt welcome and our room (with the lounge area) was very comfortably furnished and this was needed as the weather was cold and wet during our visit!
The accommodation was luxurious, spacious and of an exceptionally high standard. It is well located and very safe. If we visit Nieuwoudtville again, we would love to stay at Linda's Shell again. We only enjoyed one dinner there, so will have to enjoy more meals next time to form an opinion.
Linda was very generous with her time and service and told us everything we needed and wanted to know. The staff were also very kind, efficient and helpful. Linda is very generous and had no hesitation recommending other restaurants to us as well as singing their praise. She also has a strong concern for poor and needy people in the Niewoudtville community.
We enjoyed our stay, in spite of all the rain, well-equipped and a good battery backup during rolling blackouts. We had transport problems and Linda went out of her way to resolve it for us, you are a star Linda, much appreciated.
Linda has built a fabulous guest house which she runs most efficiently, with attention to every detail. The rooms are extremely comfortable and well-equipped. Linda is on-site, greeting her guests and making sure everyone is comfortable and cared for. When the power was out for several hours, each room was provided with a flask of hot water. Linda cooked breakfast by candlelight. Her hospitality is legendary.
All physical conditions were of a high standard. The option to bring your own barbecue meal, as advertised, was less successful. Provision was not made for a place to get dishes ready for the braai, the braai area was exposed to wind and weather and there was no sheltered place to use the braai meal. (We don't see dining in the bedroom as an option.)
Beautiful guest house! Didn't think there was such a gem in Nieuwoudtville! After a seafood platter for dinner we had a wonderful overnight stay. We did have to drive early and did not make use of the breakfast option.
Where do we start? Linda is by far the best hostess we have ever encountered. The guesthouse is magnificent. All that one expects from 5-star you receive and so much more. Most delicious brekkie and dinner available. Togetherness and company are so warm and cozy, we felt sad to say goodbye. A big big recommendation for sure. A gem of a place, the most beautiful we have ever stayed, the best service and hospitality. Linda's knowledge of the area is very reliable, even the weather forecast. On the dot grade at the time mentioned. Large selection of drinks, even for the non-drinkers, which was really nice. The detail with which your food was prepared with an extra treat was top notch. Hopelessly too few words to describe the warmth, you will have to go see and experience it yourself.

As I drive down the dusty street I wonder if we will get what we booked and there we are welcomed by the most beautiful guest house in the middle of nowhere. Everything has been done so tastefully from the building style to the garden and lovely lounging area by the pool. We had a great time sitting by a fire and visiting and were even able to grill some meat. Linda thinks of everything and is very hospitable and nothing is a problem for her! We had a lovely breakfast every morning and all the food I saw she prepared for other guests looked delicious. The rooms are very nicely and comfortably furnished and our bed slept wonderfully. I can recommend Linda's Dop to anyone who likes that little bit extra - it's very good value for money!

Linda se Dop is a beautiful guest house but the name sounds more like a bar than an upper class guest house. The dinner was outrageously expensive and not value for money at all. Breakfast is also made ahead of time. So sunny side up was more rubber than sunshine.
Linda se Dop exceeded all our expectations, Linda made us feel welcome, told us about all the attractions in the area. The accommodation was 5 star!
