All 5 star! Except it was very very very disappointing that we had no contact from the "agent" who was supposed to help us book in. In fact I had to ask the agency to ask him to phone us - So we would know where to go and what to do when we got there (regarding keys). We didn't know where the house was, how to work the alarm (battery was flat), who to ask about things not working (oven is broken). If and which days the unit would be serviced. How to connect to WiFi etc., very disappointing.

They can just pay a little attention to the "cutlery", pans crooked, knives blunt and too few glasses. But other than that all good.

"Unfortunately started wrong, poorly received."

Unfortunately upon our arrival things were already dark, no communication from the owner in terms of keys and general arrangements. On arrival there were no towels available for the evening's bath, we still found them in the washing machine. Furthermore, we also came across a bundle of linen in a cupboard that had only been pushed onto a bundle, we were no longer sure if the linen on our beds was clean and fresh. The plates we took out of the cupboard were still full of fat and meat clearly from the previous visitors! However, after we discussed the problems with the owner, she was difficult and only asked: "what do we want her to do about it now?". She also started getting personal and it was totally inappropriate and irrelevant!

"House was as per the pictures, water system was very poor (brown water and the filtration system was filthy) , which led to some upset stomachs and the need to buy large quantities of bottled water, cleaning service cleaned only where the eye could see, pots and pans were filthy and sub-standard. In general, attention to detail was extremely lacking and it appears as if the property is being run on remote control. Various things broken or not working (detail below). Pool was lovely. as was aircon in the roo"

Various items broken or not working proerly (eg towel rails in two bedroom unusable, blinds in upper bedroom not working property. toliet seet loose in 3rd bedroom, balustrade rickety, which could be very dangerous if someone slips on the stairs). Floors outside also extremely slippery when wet (it rained most of the time we were there, and water from the pool also wets these floors), and the glass on the sliding doors has no way of indicating if it is open or closed (most places have some stickers or similar markings on glass doors so that it is easy to see whether the sliding door is open or closed). We took great care on these issues but where there are small children or inebriated adults it is entirely possible that there could be injury. House was in general not very clean, although it is a beautiful house, and the cleaning service seems to do the minimum necessary (eg oven and braai areas dirty and full of insects, showing that there was no recent cleaning), pots were very dirty. As mentioned above, attention to detail is lacking, and one would at least expect the water filtration system to be working, as we spent a small fortune on buying water even to wash dishes etc. Baths were unusable as the water was brown and filthy, but the least the pool was clean!

"Perfect getaway with family."

We were 4 people with a 3 year old daughter and the time at Lionsview was just great. The pool was awesome in the heat and the location was good. Many animals walked past the house and the view from the top porch was breathtaking.

We will definitely be returning for a longer stay, a weekend stay doesn't quite do the place justice.

Very neat place and everything worked. Lionsview's location is perfect. The toaster is no longer working, but this is all "positive" criticism. Would recommend the place anytime for a quiet time in the woods.

WiFi didn't work. Two of the three rooms' aircons did not work and it was very hot. Paying too much for services that don't work.

Beautiful modern house. Rooms are spacious with beautiful bathroom for each room. Value for money. Would recommend a dishwasher only.

"The most amazing place."

We recently had a family getaway to Lionsview Private Lodge, and i must say i was absolutely blown away by the service of the owners, Both Rolandi and Pieter were so helpful and accommodating. When we arrived the establishment was clean well presented and utterly well furnished. Everything and more you could expect from a self-catering facility was available. Bedrooms were absolutely to die for, linen was of exceptional quality and beds were more comfortable than yours at home. Bathrooms were top class - 5 star! The surroundings were absolutely amazing, the owners had prepared a feeding spot right by the pool and at night the feeding spots turned into a bush paradise. If you love the bush, do yourself a favour and stay here!

Beautiful environment where one can just relax, read, sleep, eat, drink and braai! Everything is there you may need. Did not see a lot of animals and wish we had a dishwasher, but it did not spoil anything of the quality we had. A true gem in the bush.

"Very quiet and private house that is very well maintained."

The unit's relaxation area is very private, cosy and away from neighbours. Rooms very neat and comfortable with very nice views over the bushveld. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, might just want a dishwasher as it is a self-catering unit.
