I thought it was going to be small, but it was a cottage on its own, very nice, super clean, just a place I will book again if we go to Pietermaritzburg. Delicious biscuits and muffins. Highest recommendation.
Felt safe and was treated to delicious muffins every morning. Relaxed farm atmosphere right on the edge of town.
For advice: a list or booklet could possibly be published of activities, for example walking routes and cycling routes in the nearby area. Thurlow recommended it for walking, but it's more for bird watching and not a walking trail at all. We got delicious scones for a surprise which were fantastically delicious. This gem of an overnight or longer stay sleepover accommodation was an outstanding experience for us! The residential unit is fully equipped and beautifully decorated, tastefully furnished and extremely comfortably furnished with every possible necessary item and more. A lovely hearth with wood, lighters that confirmed a nice log fire friendliness was a bonus. Jane, our hostess's warm kindness and hospitality was outstanding and we were treated to delicious fresh, warm scones and fixings at breakfast. And then the icing on the cake - our friendly two Labrador guide dogs who welcomed us with excitement and led us for a walking tour as guides! No, this is a destination gem to be discovered!

We stayed at the Fern Forest Cottage. A lovely cottage with beautiful views and a countryside atmosphere! The cottage is tastefully decorated in the scandi decor style. Green, comfortable, neat and clean. I was very disappointed because there was no fireplace. If there were photos of the Fern Forest cottage on the site, I would see that there is no fireplace and I would definitely have chosen another option. I looked at the photos of other accommodation options at Little Fields and assumed that it would be more or less the same in the Fern Forest Cottage (I still had a choice of a beautiful cottage in the same environment that met my standards, with a cosy lounge and fireplace which was cheaper, so the choice was difficult, but then I decided on Little Fields). A fireplace goes hand in hand in the Midlands Meander, and was a requirement for me. The cottage is cold. No hairdryer, no mirror near a electricity point or a table in the bedroom. Nevertheless, we had a nice stay. Thank you very much for the delicious coffee, muesli, yogurt, butter, jam, fresh fruit, fruit juice. Bodger and Misty were dear, very courteous, they spent a great time with us early in the morning and welcomed us.
