It was very nice to stay there. The people were very friendly, and we will use them again.
It is a very peaceful place with a fantastic restaurant and beautiful walking paths.
Great place, quiet and serene.
Lovely spot for a stop-over. Very kid friendly with a nice playground, petting zoo, walks, horses, etc. Quiet location but easily accessible from town. Friendly staff.
Unfortunately, we only stayed for 1 night en route to Lesotho, but we found the units to be adequate for the price paid and the setting of units amongst the boulders is pretty cool. It was mid-winter, so the heater above the bed was a winner! Only had a chance for a quick 1-hour hike, which was quite fun below the big sandstone boulders, although the route needs more markers and a map would be useful. The horses and ponies on site were cool, even the pushy one who tried to enter the cottage and then raided the outside bin. A herd surrounded our car, but it was low season and I guess we were the only show in town! I'll definitely plan a longer stay next time to allow for more exploration time of the resort and surrounding area. Our host was helpful for some info on Lesotho.
Little Rock is amazing. Great location and scenery. I would definitely come back with a large group of friends.
There was no hot water, so I was unable to shower.
Was very peaceful, and nice surroundings. The cabinets in the kitchen definitely need some work. Restaurant's food and service are fantastic.
Beautiful peaceful place in the Eastern Free State.
The accommodation was comfortable. There was no shower, only a bath. There was no water when we arrived, but when we reported it, they did turn the pumps on and then it was fine.
Fair. Tariff very high for what is offered.
We only stayed overnight, but the place is so beautiful among the natural beauty and the horses that roam between the houses, would have liked to stay longer. Went to eat at the restaurant that night, the best pizza and sticky wings!
The location is excellent and the staff are very hospitable. There are some issues that will be fixed, such as the lighting. I will definitely use Little Rock Resort again.
It's a nice place to relax. For the beer drinkers there is a large selection to choose from and the wine list is not bad. Restaurant's food and service are excellent. Big compliment to the people who keep the power and water going despite load shedding. Nice playground for children. The people in charge make the place. All negative comments are that the room I slept in could do with some renovation.
The units can do with an upgrade. Maintenance not up to par. The sink drainpipe was missing and thus the dirty water flowed past our front door. Cutlery and crockery are not topped up, mix and match. One unit had a broken TV with no remotes. The resort itself was neat but could do with some additional amenities. Would still consider going back one day.
The house was nicely furnished, everything was there. The resort's gardens are very beautiful. There are 8 horses running loose in the resort that keep the grass short. Nice when you sit on your porch and slowly the horses come by. At night, 3 dogs walked fire guard.
Suitable for families.
Chalet has many cobwebs in it. Customer service is very good but there is only a pool so not much to do for a family. The way to get there is in a condition.
We arrived at the resort late at night, got the key and were told how to drive to our unit, but the units were not well marked at all in the 1st place. So we struggled. We also struggled to make something to eat, no stove or oven, a 2-plate was only brought to us the next morning, if only the man could have informed us in advance, it would have helped. The place was not clean at all, what looks like rat droppings on the fridge, cobwebs and bugs. The lounge set also comes from Noah's ark, the cushions are so hard that one cannot sit comfortably at all. At least the decor was nice, which made you feel a little better.
Beautiful place. Private and secure. We really enjoyed the visit. Would recommend for a weekend getaway.
Family friendly resort, lots to entertain grandchildren!
Only stayed here one night, accommodation was clean and equipped with everything needed for self catering accommodation. Access to controlled premises, check-in and check-out was quick with minimal contact due to Covid 19, but still a warm welcome.
.... I won't just stay there again. Little Rock is located in a beautiful area, but did not quite live up to our expectations. The impression one gets is that the accommodation units, at least the one we spent the night in, are a bit tired. I don't want to be unduly critical, but it's not our cup of tea. The resort has great potential to be developed into a beautiful place, but I realize that it is probably practically impractical because it would cost a lot of money. Nevertheless, we had a nice stay.
We were only there for 2 days, but we rested so much with the tranquility, felt like we were there for a week! I mentioned that I have 2 pensioners who are together and Elmarie made sure there were no stairs to their beds. Nice clean, very basic but had the necessary fridge microwave and kitchenware. My 18-month-old daughter really enjoyed the horses, pigs and parkie! My husband and I played with her in the park like children, it was so fun! I will definitely take the long road again to spend the night there!
Just stayed over for one night. Wish it was longer. Food in Restaurant was delicious. Rooms were neat. Staff very hospitable. Will definitely stay there again.
See stars
It is value for money. Atmosphere is very nice.
Neat swimming pool. Very pleasant restaurant and friendly staff.
Was a lovely little place. Needs a bit of maintenance, but overall a great place and it is a plus that there is a restaurant with lovely food. The hiking trails need to be cleared a bit so its easier to manage.
I don't like the idea that day visitors are allowed and that you have to call to get in the gate. The pool needs paint, but other than that it was nice and peaceful and will go back again.
Would love to go again. Neat and friendly. Kids enjoyed swimming and playing. Hiking trails were nice and not too far. Peaceful at night. The road in Ladybrand itself is not in a good condition.
We were a bit disappointed in this venue. I booked for 4 and there were only 2 towels. Upon asking for 2 extra, we were only given one. The A frame chalet we stayed in was in need of a bit of maintenance.
Nice place. Host was friendly and helpful because it was after hours, we had to check in pub where everyone was smoking. Accommodation was quite tidy, except bathroom mat which was not clean. Bedding smelled dusty. Refrigerator was not turned on ahead of time and took a long time to get cold. The half open plan with the open walls that do not reach the roof does not work well for us. There were only 2 towels and we were 4 adults. It was still dark when we drove. There wasn't enough light outside for us to see to pack the car, especially after we locked and had to walk to the car. However, Little Rock Resort has a lot of potential.
I expected much more, was really disappointed.
Horrible! Unbelievable.
Ons was op ons hande gedra by Little Rock Resort. Die vriendelikheid van die personeel was ongelooflik. Ek was baie verras deur die restaurant se heerlike kos en atmosfeer.
Was very happy with the accommodation, not 5 star, but very clean and neat. Would stay here again.
Very nice place. Clean pool and nice chalets.
It is a beautiful, quiet place to visit. The roads in Ladybrand are just terrible.
Staff were friendly, honest and helpful! We could rest well, enjoy the surroundings and it's close to the Lesotho border. Just a pity the Ladybrand city council's roads in the town are not maintained at all, so you swim and aim for Little Rock's gates. Otherwise as good. The rain only makes things difficult if you have to keep the children busy. So when I asked if we could move to a unit with a sitting area / living room, it was already fully booked.
The chalets are very neat and clean and well equipped. It's very beautiful and peaceful and you can really take in the natural beauty.
Had a lovely visit, especially the restaurant. Food was delicious and the atmosphere one of the best.
Little Rock was easy to get to and perfectly adequate for us. The children enjoyed the pool with springboard holes. The rondavel was well equipped with everything needed. Funny that there was no shower and the benches in front of the TV sit very hard, but hey, we're not there to watch TV. It's a shame that all the day visitors leave the site so dirty over the weekend.
Your web site shows an idyllic thatched rondawel set amongst beautiful scenery when in fact most of the accommodation is not of that type, just very basic normal square buildings, very poorly designed and equipped. Finishes very poor. The place was full of rowdy revellers surrounding a large pool with boom boxes blaring and leaving rubbish everywhere. Terrible bed. Left before our allocated booking was completed.
We were a large group and the manager made us feel welcome. Site is neat and easy to find. Would recommend Little Rock Resort to anyone needing accommodation in the Ladybrand district. By far the best I've experienced in this district.
We expected a self-catering unit and planned to make something for dinner ourselves. However, the room was a pleasant surprise. Clean, beautiful and everything you need.
Was delicious. Glad there was signal at all times.
Little Rock is beautiful! The swimming pool and playground are a feast for children (and parents!) The restaurant's food is delicious, service is good. The rondavel is clearly years old but beautifully maintained. Everything is neat and clean. Only complaint is that the mattresses on the bunk beds are worn and not comfortable to sleep on. And the streets in Ladybrand are more holes than streets so it's a bit difficult to get there.
We literally just slept here, but it was pleasant. The heaters don't work and it was quite cold.
The resort is located within Ladybrand. So there are many of the local people who come to braai and visit. If you are looking for a quiet place, this is not the place for you.
