What a gem in the Strand. Old school meets modern. Such a unique and cozy B&B. We were greeted friendly and the staff were very helpful. We enjoyed our drinks on the deck. Such a cool bathroom. The loft reminded me of a European apartment in France.
The accommodation was clean and tidy. The discussion was not entirely correct. Breakfast was included, although the person on duty thought it was not. Also, the room that was booked was not given. But despite that, the stay was good.

Rooms are clean and stylish but the bathrooms are not well maintained and would benefit from upgrading or even just a good cleaning. Room 1 did not have natural light, but was still nice and modern. The rooms also have access to DSTV's sports channels. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was delicious. Parking is on the street, yet safe.
One good thing. bed was decent. Our self catering room had 3 "inter leading doors" to the other self catering units. (fortunately my sister was on her own. took care of the one "inter leading doors). we could hear every word said by our neighbours. TV & child (which very fortunately was not too noisy). We would have liked some peace & quite. but guess we had the wrong place.
We didn't sleep on it at all. We hastily looked for another guest house and stayed the night at another guest house in Gordons Bay. The bathroom was dirty. When we sat down on the bed, the dust bounced off the bed.
Great hospitality and an amazing breakfast. My family and I enjoyed our stay and had a blast. The host made us feel at home and ensured that we were okay.
One thing I would recommend though is in self-catering if crockery could be more accessible at the units, but we were assisted by the hosts.
Bedding and towels were clean and fresh. Beach a few steps away. Nice walk. Felt very safe.

Good location. Within walking distance of beach and eateries. Comfortable atmosphere and it feels like home.
I prefer a bath, but there was only a shower. The teenagers didn't like the sofa beds, but the fast WiFi and smart TV made them forget about it. They had to stay alone at Loddey's while we had to attend a function and it was very safe.
We enjoyed our stay and will be going again in the near future, John and his team were very welcoming and friendly. The apartment was very clean and we did not need anything. I would rate Loddeys Guest House a 10 out of 10.

We really enjoyed our overnight stay. The hostess is very friendly and hospitable. The house has beautiful old doorways and the interior fits the theme. Was somewhat concerned about our car in the street, but didn't experience any problems. Breakfast was lovely and the staff friendly.

Friendliness of the staff was amazing. We received excellent service! Rooms were clean and tidy, and they come to clean the room every morning. Breakfast each morning was out of this word! The tranquility at the guesthouse was noticible and we could chill outside by the swimming pool. I'll just say it might need a small dressing table or something in the room because as a woman it is somewhat difficult to prepare if your hair dryer's cord isn't long enough so that you can stand in front of the mirror. But we received excellent service and will definitely try to go back in the year!

The public living room, the plush dining area with fireplace, and the sun-drenched, enclosed verandah provide extra relaxation areas. The pool and braai lapa are wonderful areas to enjoy the South African sunshine and hospitality. Light lunches, dinners, and braais are available on request at the Lapa.
Loddeys is within walking distance from the sea, making it the closest guest house to the beach, as well as restaurants and all amenities. It is a 45-minute drive from Cape Town International Airport.
