I got there only late, but they received me well. I felt safe. The place was neat and comfortable.

1. The reception on arrival was really very friendly and the supervising person was very helpful. 2. Security of especially parking is very good, but that's where it ends. 3. The handle of the outer door that gives access to the entrance hall was broken - one had to improvise. 4. In the unit, the toilet seat was completely loose, and the shower right next to it did not have a curtain or screen, if you shower the whole toilet will be wet. 5. With the gloomy gray color of the walls together with dark floor tiles it was difficult to judge how clean the room really was. 6. There are no bedside lights/lamps, so one could not read. 7. However, the bedding was clean.

But the shower needs a curtain - water ends up all over the bathroom, the kettle spout was damaged resulting with water all over the place when pouring, TV had no remote need a better DStv selection.

Welcome was pleasant and room clean providing enough basics. Parking is very tight as not a big area. Cupboard door missing. Biggest problem was a very bright light outside room and a very thin curtain.

Great stay and friendly staff but the place needs a good scrub down from the ceiling to the floors, bed mattress and bed sheets.

Room very dark and cold. Would not recommend as a destination.

Best location. Very clean and best value. I enjoyed my stay here and would definitely use their services again.

I was very comfortable in the accommodation provided as well as being satisfied with the service and the friendly welcome that I received. The only problem was that the WiFi was unavailable, and this was the particular reason that made me choose Lona. Hopefully this issue can be sorted out as I will definitely be happy to make use of this guest house again.

The owner(s) were nowhere to be seen. Place was not at all up to LekkeSlaap or any expected normal standard. Woke up at 02:00 in the morning to a loud noise which then turned into a heated exchange.

"Lona Guest House will never see me again!"

I used my GPS to get me to the address, just as well as there are no indications at the gate identifying the property as Lona Guest House (this was approximately 14h40 and check in time was anytime from 14h00. As I parked at the gate and a young lady opened the gate to exit, she asked if she could help. I asked if this was the guest house, she responded, "Yes, but I hope there is someone here to help you". I proceeded to enter the property and the gate was closed behind me. Once inside the property I walked around the property trying to find the reception, again there was no signage to point me in any direction. I found the property to be in a bit of a disarray, I found a broken high-back chair lying in two pieces next to the patio. I found an open door (red door on the photo) which seemed to lead up some stairs and into what appeared to be a self service kitchen area, also in a bit of a disarray. I called out numerous times with no response. I then phoned the agent through whom I had made the booking, she kindly responded and said that she would get hold of the guest house management and get back to me asap. Shortly thereafter, a friendly lady in a night gown and slippers came out of the house. The lady was on the phone with the agent, the phone was passed to me and I was informed that the guest house management was in town and that she would only be back at the guest house at approximately 16h00. This was not acceptable. Fortunately the booking agent had another guest house in close proximity and alternate acceptable accommodation was provided. My impression of Lona Guest house is that it is a "long term"/student type of residency and does not cater for travellers that need short term accommodation.
