The cabin has a amazing view and great place for a peaceful getaway.
This was my fifth time at Longview Ranch. Every time I fall in love all over again with the view, silence and privacy. It is comfortable, clean, tidy and Lynette always makes sure that there are fresh wildflowers.
If you want to rest and just find yourself again, the location and breathtaking view of Longview Ranch is your best bet.
The accommodation was great and the scenery breathtaking. Might just mention in the future that people bring powerbanks for phones as there are no power points.
Accommodation was well appointed. Only the water factor to the bathrooms needs attention.

For total rest, without others bothering you, enough wood for the fireplace for the whole weekend. We rested a lot and the flowers in the field are beautiful.

It is clear that the owners make a little extra effort to welcome us. Little things like a packet of biscuits, a flower on the table. It made us feel so special. The weekend was cold and dreary, but there was plenty of wood for the fireplace, and we were wonderfully warm. We were very secluded, and our dogs could play and run around without being a hindrance to others.
The Kloof cottage is independent from the electricity grid, secluded in the field next to a stream with a beautiful view.
A lovely cottage to relax in and become human again. Wonderful view. So much walking space for us and the dogs. Thank you very much Lynette for all the effort and for making our stay and celebration so special. The accommodation was tidy and despite a stormy Friday night we were safe without any problems. The two Scots had their fill of frolicking up the hills which made us walk a lot.
My wife and I really enjoyed the area. Lots of cycling, jogging options on the farm itself and surrounding dirt roads for longer distance cycling. Also went to Dullstroom for a morning. It is either tarmac road back to Belfast and then to Dullstroom or 30min on farm roads (but for this a high ground clearance vehicle is required). Really enjoyed the cottage! Was on the porch all day staring at the incredible view. Just bring your own wood or coals for braai. Also, the Kloof Cottage you probably need a bigger vehicle, especially for the last 200m down to the cottage. Vriende's Polo braved the dirt road and farm road, but the last kilometer was just too much for them.
We stayed next to a beautiful gorge, and could look out over beautiful plains and valleys from the porch.
I always come back to Longview Ranch again and again. It's ideal for just relaxing, switching off and recharging batteries. Thank you Lynette and Koos for the hospitality. Always nice to visit you.

This was our second visit to Longview Ranch and the first time with our little boy where we stayed in the Longview Cottage. We enjoyed the visit a lot, the tranquility and views (which stretch for miles) every day are exceptional, you see the most beautiful sunset every afternoon. You can also go for a walk on the farm and go fishing. If you want to get out a bit, Dullstroom is around the corner for a day trip. We would definitely recommend Longview Ranch to anyone looking for quiet and appreciate a beautiful view.

Friendly hospitality by Lynette, nothing is too much trouble for her. Even the welcome rusks are a winner. The environment and sunsets are unsurpassed with the cattle that come to greet every now and then.
We stayed in the Longview Cottage. It was a wonderful experience to do without electricity and the usual "luxuries" for a change. If your cell phone's battery runs out, forget about charging and make peace with the fact that you don't need it there at all. The place is very nicely furnished and comfortable. It's getting terribly cold. I would strongly advise taking a hot item or two with you or maybe a little more. Definitely going back again soon.
Longview Ranch crept deep into our hearts 4 years ago. The breathtaking surroundings are indescribable and they have a variety of activities, such as fishing and trails for walking the dogs and cycling on the farm. Here you can also choose to sit inside by the fireplace all weekend with a glass of wine and a good book while looking out over the rolling highlands. Koos and Lynette's hospitality is immeasurable. We also later got married on the farm and will always want to return there. Again a great experience!

If you want to be in the middle of nowhere, Longview Ranch is your answer. A neat cottage with a view of nothing but mountains and cattle, silence and rest. The cottage is very nicely equipped and we lacked nothing. The fireplaces make the stone cottage so nice and warm that you don't even realize how cold it is outside, and the bed and bedding are nice, with a whistling kettle and delicious home-made biscuits. Definitely the ideal place to find your soul again.
My wife Celia and I visited Longview Ranch again for our midwinter getaway with our two dogs. We could relax in front of the fireplace and just sit and do nothing. We had a great time talking, reading, taking afternoon naps and enjoying the view over the valley. It was once again a lovely weekend getaway. It was just a little short, but still necessary. The Longview Cottage was very neat and well furnished. We slept wonderfully under the thick feather duvet and didn't get cold at all. The extra rusk that Lynette left for us was truly a winner. We will definitely visit again.
4 adults stayed at Kloof Cottage for 5 nights, loved it as we walked in, lovely big undercover veranda with views across the farmlands, clean, comfortable, best of all peace and quiet, just what we needed to renew our own batteries. Hot water via solar panel on roof and a big fire place in the lounge, stunning sitting out on the deck watching the sun set with a glass of wine in hand. Town of Dullstroom is 26 km from the cottage, we travelled to Dullstroom everyday, as there is so much to see and do in Dullstroom, wish we could have stayed longer.
We spent a wonderful weekend at the Kloof Kothuis. The facility is neat and well appointed. An ideal getaway from the city. We will definitely visit again.

The whole setting makes you feel so peaceful. Felt like I was away for a week even if it was only 2 days. Will definitely go again. My dogs enjoyed the open spaces just as much and that's what I wanted them to have just as much fun because they live in a small yard.

This is our 3rd time visiting Longview Ranch. We went to the Kloof house for the 1st time. The 2nd time I booked Wattle Creek for my mother's 83rd birthday. I recommend it to anyone who wants to relax or do a function (Wattle Creek, cowboy town as I call it) The 3rd time again at the Kloof Huisie. It was great. The owners are the loveliest people ever! We will definitely go again. It is breathtakingly beautiful, between the gorges, and in the evenings you can almost pick the stars in the sky. There I experience rest and peace. And once again we realize how beautiful and wonderful everything is.

The place need attention. There was no dish cloth and droppings of bats in the roof landed on bed through opening in ceiling above the bed. The fire places also need little attention. But, it was a wonderful stay!! Will go again.
Great to relax, catch bass, a peaceful atmosphere. One small issue was that the fridge facilities are not great. There is only a freezer, so a fridge/freezer would be appreciated for one's cold drinks and milk etc. if you go longer than 3 days. Furthermore, if you want to appreciate the tranquility, feel free to go.
A lovely getaway from the daily rush. Stone house with a fireplace in the mountains, near Dullstroom. You need a 4x4 to travel comfortably as the road is not tarred and quite rough.

Location of Kloof cottage private and perfect for a romantic getaway. Friendly reception. Wonderful view and scenery. Beautiful sunsets. Peaceful, safe, quiet. No trouble with a fire or hot water and gas, enough firewood. Cottage's layout is beautiful. Had a great shower, but apart from bed linen, toilet and towels which were spotless, the house, porch and furniture were unfortunately on the dirty and dusty side. The weathered look is just taken too far here and doesn't succeed. It's a shame as a proper renovation, and regular thorough cleaning inside and outside the cozy place can make a real gem. Cutlery can also be supplemented, there are e.g. only 2 teaspoons. Also no hangers or racks for unpacking clothes in bedroom closet.
The place to go when you want to get away from city life.

We would go again anytime, would recommend it to anyone who is a nature lover and who wants to get away from all the city hustle and bustle, the safety is something to dream about. The sunset is mesmerizing, can't describe it, and the fireplace makes it so special. The cottage is very neat, it is just indescribably beautiful.

This is our fourth time visiting Longview Ranch. A wonderful break from the hustle and bustle of the city. It already feels like our second home and our puppies enjoy the pond, we go here especially just for them.

Fantastic few days of rest. Great without electricity and the unit is so well equipped that you don't even miss it. It has a solar geyser, but we asked if we could rather use the donkey. Especially thankful for the hostess's help with the generator when our son had to be steamed! Everything was beautifully clean and bedding was great. My youngest son caught a beautiful fish and the rest of the family held piglets. Always felt welcome and comfortable. Will definitely recommend it.

This place bring peace to the soul and helps one break away from TV and electronic equipment. Lynette offers excellent service and the Kloof Cottages are in perfect condition. The architecture is so romantic, with a wonderful fireplace and ample firewood.
The hostess made us feel so welcome and didn't mind us checking in early or checking out late.
The accommodation was very good and practically equipped (good quality) - clean, fresh and welcoming. The secludedness and silence was rejuvenating.
We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 day stay. The view of the farm is beautiful and the location is very remote. We visited in August during a cold front and the fireplace was very pleasant. Keep in mind that there are no wall sockets, but there are electric lights powered by battery. Lots of space and place to sleep for children, next time we're bringing our dogs! Lastly, the owner was very helpful, friendly and generous.
The road there, from Belfast, is bad. I had a trailer with a motorcycle on it and was just on my nerves all the time. Arriving there, it was a pleasant surprise of how idyllic the Kloof Cottage is. Extremely tidy with everything you need for a nice weekend. Only the fridge/freezer facilities are lacking. I'll just take my camping freezer with me in the future, then that problem is sorted. Our children already wanted to know when we could go there again.
Felt so good to arrive at the breathtaking and clean place. Lynette took special care as we only arrived late - and organised hot water for us. The view and crackling fire in the fireplace - no words.

Houses well furnished.
Very quiet and peaceful, time for lots of reading, sleep, walking, and relaxing. Can get cold. Fire places a plus. 5 km gravel road to the farm not great, but on the farm the roads are okay.
The view was breathtaking. You can see 360 degrees and you don't see other houses or humans, only nature!
The place is lovely located but needs electricity fot the geyser as well as a plug to charge the phone. Because of no electricity we had no communication on our way home, which could be a problem especially is something goes wrong with the car. The solar panel does not warm properly and then you have cold water, which is dreadful when it's cold out. The grass around the cottage has to be cut as well as the dam. Place very cosy and lived-in.

The weekend was, as always, incredible and peaceful. We did miss the donkey that was used for warming water as the solar geyser just couldn't get the job done. Other than that everything was brilliant.
We have now stayed at both cottages. Longview Ranch is perfect for a couple. Kloof Cottage is perfect for a family of 4 - 6. It is the perfect place to stay if you want to take your four-legged children with you. Our two dogs were in heaven and could swim and explore all day. The best sunsets and look up at the sky and the stars in the evening. It's breathtaking.
The absolute tranquility is what everyone needs to find themselves again. The house was clean and tidy. We went fishing every day, which we enjoy. And we caught big bass and a trout. We would recommend it to people who like such tranquility. Have to say, the silence the first two days was an adjustment and I would only recommend that if you need your cell phone - to take something with you to charge it with. There are no power plugs in the cottage, they only run on gas and solar power. But we really enjoyed it and felt safe. Thank you.

We enjoyed our weekend, to be in nature and see the beauty of God's creation. It was lovely without our cell phones and TV, to just lie around reading in front of the fireplace, the early morning coffee on the patio and to see the sun rise and lift the mist. For peace and quite it is really a lovely place. We enjoyed the view, sunsets and game viewing. We appreciated the rusks and flowers that the hosts left for us! We were disappointed that the fridge was actually a small deep freeze and the dam for fishing was approximately 1,7 km away from the cottage. We caught a few bass, but had no luck with catching trout.
It was very enjoyable. We really enjoyed it and had a good rest.
Longview Ranch is nice and secluded in a very nice environment and Kloof Cottage a very nice and practical little house. The main dirt road to the farm is not the best, but it makes it nice to arrive at the final destination. The children really enjoyed the pond, mountain climbing and cycling events. Furthermore, the lack of electricity (lights are supplied via a battery) is a big bonus for spending quality time together.
The house was well equipped. The sun geyser struggled to provide enough hot water seeing as how it was cloudy. We had such a wonderful rest and will definitely go again.

Even the donkey geyser worked great. Come prepared to switch off and charge batteries because that's what the stone house will offer you. The cottage is well appointed with stunning views and attentive hosts. The peace and solitude is awesome and we loved the fierce lightning storm we watched from the big deck. The only 2 criticisms I have is that the photo looks as if there is a fishing dam right in front of the cottage but this is not the case and the dams are quite far away; and there is a tiny chest fridge/freezer which is not adequate for a family of 5 for the 3 days that we were there - if we had known about this we would have catered differently, so it is vital to inform guests about this beforehand. Otherwise, a lovely place.
We stayed in Longview Cottage for the weekend. It was peaceful. The cottage is well equipped, but there is only a very small fridge. It was my first experience with a donkey geyser and it worked really well (if you know how to stoke a fire). The view is breathtaking, the best I have ever seen in an establishment. 80% for the house. A proper fridge and freezer is a serious shortcoming. The hostess did not check the house before we moved in. Toilet paper was delivered later, after we asked about it. If a gas or paraffin fridge is made available we would stay there again.
It was peaceful and the silence is wonderful. The accommodation is neat and well equipped, the fireplace is lovely and the location is perfect. We will definitely visit there again.
Longview is a gem. We had a quiet time, the other houses on the farm are far enough away that no one bothers you. The rain was a relief after the heat in Gauteng. We even relaxed in front of the fireplace on Christmas Eve with a cold Dullstroom breeze outside.
It is incredibly nice to stay there. Our weekend there in the Longview Cottage was just as nice. If we had known how nice it would be, we would have been there earlier and stayed longer. That we will make a visit there again soon. The Cottage itself is so beautifully laid out and the decor is just so perfect. That bed is so comfortable and we slept so well every night with the little fire burning in the fireplace. The kitchen is actually any woman's dream because nothing is missing there. You can show up with just your clothes because the rest is already there. The surroundings around the cottage are so incredibly beautiful and having a picture of it doesn't do it justice. You just have to experience it yourself. On Friday night we were treated to a panoramic thunderstorm. I have never experienced anything like that in my life. The next day we went fishing and went hiking down the gorge. It was really so nice and peaceful just to be able to get away from the city. We will definitely have to make a trip there again soon so that we can experience a piece of heaven again. Beautiful romantic stone house with fireplace in the bedroom and living room. There is no power here, but the place is so well designed that you don't even notice it. The donkey must be stoked early for nice hot water and the fireplace must be lit early. Take a radio with batteries for nice romantic music in the evening. Together with the fireplace and red wine, it is an unforgettable experience. The view and good fishing make everything a perfect, picture-perfect experience. Longview Ranch is an absolute fantastic gem! Very peaceful, beautiful scenery (including the cattle) and the cottage itself is too dear! Everything you need... And the fireplace makes it just that much more cozy. Will definitely go there again soon!
It was a wonderful experience and there are nice bass ponds and quiet, beautiful nature! There are also many small goats and animals in the area if you are early enough to go looking for them.
The place was very clean and had the nicest duvet and fireplace. It is not too far from Johannesburg and the surroundings are peaceful and picturesque. The bonus was that we could take our little dog with us.
You are surrounded by ever changing light with only sounds those of the wind, jackal calls and the hoot of an owl... we will be back!

Everything was very nice. Enough wood for the fireplace. The dam needs some attention. A bit too much grass to catch trout and we struggled a bit. Other than that, it was very nice.
Cute little house with a fantastic view. Very quiet and out of the way, nicely furnished with gas and battery power. Good pond for trout and black bass. The "cowboy" town is also very cute. We forgot to pack ice and Lynette helped us out of her own fridge! Thank you very much.
It is food for the soul. Our only problem is that our dogs enjoyed it more than we possibly did! We will definitely go again!

Very peaceful accommodation with a beautiful view and very comfortable. Our village lads enjoyed boiling the donkey for hot water - surprising how long the water stays hot! Will definitely take a flashlight with me next time and maybe headlights if one wants to read in the evening. It was great to make the fireplace and lie in the bed which was very comfortable and warm. The absence of electricity forced us to "switch off" ourselves. Will definitely want to go out again at Longview! I don't really know how you get to Kloof Cottage with a regular sedan, but it's probably meant for the adventurous.

It was lovely, quiet and peaceful with only the singing of birds and the lowing of cattle. In the evenings you hear a fox or 2. Had a good time fishing. My dogs enjoyed the space. I can really recommend it if you want to get away from the noise of the busy city.
The accommodation itself is incredibly beautiful and there has definitely been a lot of effort put into the place. The farm is also incredibly beautiful and there is plenty of room for jogging and cycling. Our dogs really enjoyed it! Bit difficult to cook, a decent braai or braai area will help. Unfortunately the fireplaces were never cleaned in the 3 days we stayed there. But otherwise a very nice place to stay.

The stay was very pleasant. The surroundings are beautiful and very peaceful. The unit only had solar power available. While this wasn't a problem, it would have been nice to know ahead of time. My youngest son and I are very fond of fishing and visited the pond often. The fishing was tough but on our last visit we had a lot of success and great fun.

Perfect getaway place where you can just relax. The house is big enough for 2 couples each with babies. Nice fireplace inside the house with plenty of wood provided. Just explored the area with the mountain bike which was beautiful. Nice highway (N12/N4) from Johannesburg that got us there in 2 hours. Will definitely go back!

The Kloof Cottage is beautiful and very well equipped. There is more than enough wood to keep the nice fireplace going. The place is very clean and tidy. One can go for a nice walk or jog on the farm, or just relax in the house. Longview Ranch will see us again!
Longview Ranch is the perfect place for the city kid to relax and get away from the pressures of life. The place immediately creates a homely atmosphere, neat and everything is in its place. Lynette the owner made so much effort and she was very friendly, we were warmly welcomed and felt as if we had known each other for years. The view was amazing, the sunset was indescribably beautiful, and the four-poster bed full of stars was a perfect picture of our milky way. We will definitely go there again and soon too. Nice and close and it was quite easy to find. So the perfect place for a couple who just want to spend time together and relax in each other's arms. The fireplaces were definitely a winner. From the cattle that come to welcome you early in the morning, to the monkeys playing in the trees on the other side, everything was just perfect, I can't say a bad word about our weekend!!!!!!! What an experience :)
Great place and a must for anyone wanting to get out of the city. Koos and Lynette are beautiful people.
It was wonderfully quiet, with a nice view. The fireplaces were of course also a plus. However, I have to say that I think the chimneys should each get a weathercock instead. Otherwise, the smoke enters one fireplace and exits the other. If the wind is right it works great.

Much more than expected. Everything we needed was there. Very well furnished and tidy. Our stay coincided with the first cold front for the 2014 winter. The fireplace kept us nice and warm and not even such a cold wind could keep the keen anglers from the fishing waters. Had a great time and will definitely visit again.

Lovely accommodation, very neat and clean with a beautiful view over valleys. Here, enough wood is provided for the cold evenings in front of the fireplace with delicious home-baked biscuits and coffee. I saw an aardvark live for the first time in my life, that was a bonus!

What a nice surprise - a cosy little getaway from everything. Not too close and not too far from Pretoria. The fireplace, porch and views were soothing for the soul and we enjoyed the outdoors/hiking as well.

It's definitely a place I will go back to. It's peaceful, not near the harwar of Dullstroom, the view is truly incredible, and the owners are friendly and hospitable. You will not regret it!
What a wonderful place to visit! Friendly hostess, breathtakingly beautiful views and a cottage with all the facilities one needs to relax and rest! There is a nice pond for fishing, and you can walk around the farm as you like and even our dogs are welcome. It's a great place and I can (and have) recommended it to friends and family with an open heart.
We enjoyed every moment at Longview Ranch. Beautiful farm! Nice and quiet. It's lovely to explore the farm on mountain bikes, and the customer service was exceptional. Quality bedding certainly makes the overnight stay that much more worthwhile.

Koos and Lynette Joubert received us very hospitably. Delicious homemade biscuits, nice and good linen on the bed, a comfortable and peaceful atmosphere, private and comfortable - very nice, clean, great view. We appreciated the fireplaces and plenty of wood in the cottage, especially with the lots of rain and cold. The most delicious hot shower - the donkey is a huge success. Koos made sure that we got safely through the mud and rain by driving behind us when we went home yesterday morning - also opened the farm gate for us. Thank you! It is appreciated.

Kloof cottage nestles in the mountain folds and is situated next to a small dam with a natural overflow. It gives visitors the opportunity to relax and spend quality time together. This cottage has 2 bedrooms, the main bedroom has a double bed with an en-suite bathroom, the other bedroom has 4 single beds with a separate bathroom with shower. The cottage is fully equipped with quality linen and crockery. The kitchen has a gas fridge/freezer and gas plates, a stainless steel braai is provided and it has a fireplace. Kloof cottage is ideal for a couple or family.
Longview cottage is ideal for a couple or a couple with small children, it has an open-plan design with 2 fireplaces on either end. This cottage is very spacious and beautifully furnished, it has a queen-size bed. A sleeper couch can be utilised to accommodate small children. The kitchen is fitted with a fridge and freezer combo and gas plates, a stainless steel braai is provided. This cottage is fully equipped with quality linen and crockery.
All accommodation has battery powered lights. There is no Eskom electricity. All accommodation is serviced on request. High road clearance vehicles are recommended.
