Our visit at Loveable Karoo Huisie (Fig Tree Cottage) was a treat after a day of long driving. We slept well and the house is well equipped with everything you need. We will definitely visit again.
Excellent overnight facility.
A delightful example of the care-filled and welcoming Karoo folk. Winter travel can be cold but electric blankets, heaters, and bins of wood for the fireplaces help keep the cottages warm and loveable.
Cosy. Squeaky clean. Comfy cottages. Rusks, coffee etc. In the room. Great toilet paper. Nice winter sheets. Private and quiet. Braai facilities. Very responsive owners. The right part of town, central.

Karin welcomes us via WhatsApp already early in the morning that we are expected and sends location. There is coffee and biscuits in the house and you immediately feel welcome and special.
The houses are put together with so much love and detail. Everything was very neat and clean. The owners are very friendly and helpful. I would definitely go back and stay anywhere else when I visit Fraserburgh again.

The house is beautifully restored, spotless, and with nice furniture. Lovely bed! The village looks very safe, but tourists from the city can be a little worried because the gate of the premises does not lock. In my unit (Fig Tree) the one bathroom was a bit close to the hallway, without a closing door - it didn't bother me at all as it was private enough for me, but other people might not like it. There is another bathroom that can be used. I would love to stay again.

The cottage is well located in the town, and offered all amenities to ensure a pleasurable stay. The only down side was that the taps in the shower did not allow a mix of hot and cold water; it was either only hot or only cold, with no option in between. Perhaps just look at this. But otherwise, a great stay and I can recommend the cottage for overnight stay.

The hosts went out of their way to make us feel welcome and help us out with braai wood and directions. The heaters were on when we arrived, so the place was warm. There was coffee and rusks, a washing machine and great outdoor braai place with oil lamp, grid and all the kitchen utensils we needed. We absolutely loved it stay here. Thanks to Karin who WhatsApp me with all the details I needed days before we even left. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a rustic and down to earth place
If you want to experience the heart of the Great Karoo, this is the cottage you want to visit. From there you can have a lovely walk through the town, or walk out on the big dirt road towards Sutherland. In the evening you can barbecue and listen to the whistling windmill. Stars and the moon - you know you are no longer in the city so bright shine and sparkle them.
The hosts were really friendly and helpful, and had a lot of local knowledge which we enjoyed. The accommodation was private and very comfortable.
Would recommend anyone to go, it's worth the money.

The Karoo always surprises with its little dorps and Fraserburg was no exception. We stayed in the Olive Tree cottage at Loveable Karoo, a very pleasant, no-frills accommodation with everything one needs for a self-catering stop-over. Host Karin was very pleasant and communicated very well prior to us getting there. Definitely, a place I would stay at in future, maybe for a couple of nights next time so we can explore the fairly isolated village. Thanks for a pleasant stay.
