Lugkasteel is a double-storey house situated in the town of Yzerfontein and boasts beautiful views of the Atlantic Ocean.
The house is about 250 m², comprises 3 bedrooms on the ground floor and can accommodate up to 5 persons at a time. The main bedroom has a queen-size bed and an en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower, toilet and basin. The second bedroom has 2 single beds and the third bedroom has 1 single bed. The second bathroom has a bath, shower, toilet and basin. There is also a third separate guest toilet for convenience. Also on the ground floor is a spacious kitchen fitted with a fridge-freezer, a microwave, stove, oven, dishwasher, washing machine, coffee- and tea-making facilities, crockery and cutlery. The dining room area has a table and chairs where guests can enjoy meals together.
The top floor comprises a lounge with comfortable seating and beautiful sea view. From this area on the top part of the house, guests can see the whole ocean on a clear day from Table Mountain in the south to Dasseneiland in the west and The Pos Mountains in the north. Sometimes you are even lucky enough to spot a whale in the ocean right in front of you. The most guests enjoy seeing the sun set over the horizon, mostly with a beautiful red haze.
The DStv in the lounge only offers limited channels, but guests are more than welcome to bring their own DStv card and decoder, or to organize with the owner to make more channels available. This will unfortunately be at an extra cost, but it can be negotiated with the owner.
The sheltered braai area inside can be accessed from the lounge via glass doors and there is a sink and informal tables and chairs for social evenings by the fire.
The whole house is for guests' exclusive use. However, the owner lives close by and can be contacted at any time if any needs arise that weren't considered prior to checking in.
It is important that guests notify us 2 hours before checking in, in order to make the check-in process as convenient and smooth as possible.

We haven't relaxed as much as we did this past Easter weekend. Everything we needed was there. The house was very tidy and Charles and Ingrid welcomed us with open arms. The attention to detail with flowers in almost every room was beautiful.

Lugkasteel is a very spacious and cozy relaxation place with a beautiful sea view. On a clear day, Table Mountain and Saldanha can be seen. We were able to switch off beautifully. Large, well-equipped house for a wonderful holiday. We felt very much at home. Lovely sea view from the upper sitting/braai room. Short walk to the rocks and close to shops. Friendly reception by owners. The two bathrooms have been recently redone and the bedding very comfortable.
My husband and I looked for a quiet place to rest and listen to the sea - all our expectations have been surpassed! The house had everything we needed - very safe, quiet, clean and well equipped, with a 270 degrees sea view and walking distance from the sea and shops. The owners gave us a warm welcome and we will definitely be back soon!
Lugkasteel was the best choice we could make for accommodation in Yzerfontein. Ingrid and Charles are wonderful and beautiful people. There are so many extra things in the house that warm one's heart, from the fresh flowers, biscuits, fresh milk to the most delicious towels that feel like "marshmallows". No photos will ever do justice to the view from the top floor, we were so lucky to see whales frolicking in the sea. We were booked in at Lugkasteel for a long time, Charles and Ingrid are terribly cute and very helpful. If we needed anything, they went out of their way to accommodate us. We often use holiday homes and wow, they just put in that extra. On our arrival we were welcomed with beautiful fresh flowers in more than one room, coffee, tea etc. everything was there, down to a bottle of fresh milk. Hand soap and body soap in all bathrooms and clean linen that smells delicious. I'm full of nonsense when it comes to a clean place and I was at home! Thank you very much for a wonderful time and friendly welcome. We will definitely use the accommodation again.

The entire house is rented out as a unit and not shared with any other guests, but the beds are only prepared for the number of guests who have booked. If 2 guests book, only the main bedroom's double bed will be made ready. A booking for 3 guests includes the master bedroom and the single room, a booking for 4 guests includes the master bedroom and the double room and a booking for 5 guests includes all rooms.Because children under 1 year are considered infants and usually sleep in the same room with their parents, they stay free. Parents are welcome to bring a camping cot if the baby does not share their bed. If a separate bed/room is to be provided, the baby will be counted as a child and the appropriate child rates will then apply. Please note that this is a standard bed without safety rails.
