One books at Maartblom guest house to rest. No loud music or parties, just the sound of the sea and nature. The environment is very quiet and the location is great. Close to shops and the main beach which is only 3 km away.
The accommodation met our needs for one night's stay. A built-in braai facility would be a big plus point. The host did not advise us on arrival about the area and recommended places and restaurants to visit. Suitable for one night's stay.

Lovely place, great value for money, such friendly owners, the house has a stunning garden and we had beautiful flowers from the garden on the table - such a nice touch. My son also loved the chocolates. Will definitely stay here again and recommend to friends and family.

Maartblom is a neat, spacious and cozy apartment perfect for a break from the Cape. One feels at home away from home. Friendly people who make you feel very welcome.
Neat, everything needed for overnight stay. Safe neighborhood and within short distance of everything.
When I got there I called the owner and she didn't know I was coming. Had to wait 15 min outside because they probably had to get the room ready first. The weber grill's grid for the coals was completely rusted away so you couldn't actually grill. The owner gave a small grid but it was very uncomfortable to grill with. There were no braai tongs, braai tray or tongs for the coals. Really pathetic. Had to ask the owner for a pair of pliers and told him about the Weber falling apart in half. The sort's heater did not work properly, because he has the water up to 43 degrees and then it drops to ice cold. The secure parking is literally my car behind a gate that doesn't lock and anyone can push it open. The dog was also around me and was even asked to open and close the gate together so that their dog could not get out. Would not recommend the place at all. The people don't worry about anything, it's clearly only about money for them. The boiler was also rusted inside.
Just getting away from the busy city life and enjoying the tranquility of the sea does wonders.

Maartblom is small, cosy and the ideal getaway for 2. Very neat, everything that one needs to prepare all the spoils. The most pleasant host and hostess. I even left with a plant. Really a bonus getaway place.

Maartblom's people are very friendly and the accommodation is comfortable and tidy and ideal if you want to stay in Yzerfontein for a weekend. All I lacked was burglar bars in front of the windows, because I come from the city and was too careful to sleep with open windows. Furthermore, there is everything: a good mattress, easy chairs for reading and a table to eat at. If you're on a tight budget, you could make all your meals here.
We arrived late and departed early. But had a nice stay. Well equipped.
The reception was friendly and warm. The accommodation is neat and clean, every evening we went to have tea with our guests after 8 and talked about flowers early in the morning, they also directed us to all the sights and offered us maps, we had a great time and enjoyed the surroundings. Was quiet and peaceful for sure to recommend.
The hosts were excellent. The self-catering apartment was ideal and had everything we required: DStv, internet, hot water geyser, stove, fridge. Neat and super clean bedding and shower facilities. Secure parking and the privacy was appreciated.
Hosts were warm, accommodating, and well informed on local activities and attractions. Convenient location, safe parking and private unit with separate access. Reasonably equipped self catering. Clean but a mish-mash of linen, furniture and crockery. Walking distance to beach. We stayed 3 nights as a base to explore Darling and other beaches on the West Coast all the way up to St Helena Bay.
