The caravan sites consist of paved or grassy pitches with ample shade, and all are equipped with standard electrical points. There are 3 ablution blocks, each fitted with toilets, basins, and showers, as well as 2 family bathrooms. Garbage cans can be found throughout the park.
After an exciting day out with one of the guides, stop by the convenience store and liquor store for any forgotten items at home or stop by the R&R Buffalo Bar for delicious pizzas and pub-style meals.
The Mabalingwe Caravan Park is the ideal camping destination for any wildlife enthusiast. Guests can find themselves surrounded by abundant birdlife and the calls of nature as they light their campfires amidst the glow of the setting sun. There are fun outdoor activities for the whole family, including a bike track, a BMX track, a fitness run, putt-putt golf, hot and cold pools with slides, a jungle gym, and a volleyball court.

38 guests' feedbackIt was a terribly fun weekend! I thoroughly enjoyed every moment.
It was an amazing getaway. The camping sites are well laid out, ablution facilities are clean. Game drives are well planned and game rangers knowledgeable. We enjoyed the games around the pool, convenient shop and the bar/restaurant. We will definitely book a camping holiday at the accommodation again.
Was a pleasure to camp there!
We had a great time camping at the park. Clean and tidy with fantastic customer service.
Wonderful place! Peaceful with amazing wildlife.
We had a very nice stay.
Caravan park was clean, tidy and the surroundings are absolutely beautiful.
Good control. Beautiful bathrooms.
Very nice, quiet and peaceful woodland.
Very nice visit and pitch was very close to ambulance and swimming pools. Shop has everything you need. Have fun.
The visit was very pleasant, except for the hot water swimming pool which was out of order, as well as the jacuzzis which were cold. So our children could not fully enjoy the facilities, because it was too cold to swim. We specifically chose the resort in advance because there were hot water facilities. Other than that, it was very enjoyable and the ablution sets are great with cleanliness and beauty.
The caravan park is very tidy, although it is quite cramped when the camp is full (as in our case). The bathrooms need some work. It's very clean and tidy, but old and there are toilets etc that need fixing. The upper one is the "negative". Now for the positive. The people are very helpful and friendly. There are competent workers who help you pitch your tent in no time (for a reasonable fee). The gardens are fantastically maintained and it's really very beautiful there. The swimming pool and facilities for children are very neat and beautiful. Caravan sites have paving, so it helps against mud etc when it rains. The whole campsite is full of big trees, so it's wonderfully cool. The water and electricity point was easily accessible and very well maintained. The park is kept very clean with staff sweeping, raking, cleaning bathrooms etc all day. Last (but certainly not least) is of course the washing machine and tumble dryer available. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely go back again.
Very peaceful and cozy with beautiful scenery.
Caravan site not as I remember it. Definitely run down which makes it pricey compared to other camps. If I paid half the price I would say it's value for money! Shower heads in original bathrooms do not spray water nicely. Tried the family shower where the shower heads were bigger and newer, but the water varied from hot to cold and little in between. Enjoyed the game drives. Lots of animals to see. Would not recommend due to value for money.
We camped for 3 nights. The campsite itself is nice, tidy and the ablution blocks are well equipped. The store is also adequate, but I would suggest that they expand to stock up for campers experiencing issues. For example, our air mattress had a hole in it and it would have been brilliant if the shop could provide patches. I'm sure we're not the first or the last people to experience such a problem - it's part of camping! Swimming pools - I wouldn't suggest Mabalingwe if you just want to sit back and relax. The cold pool is surrounded by 3 slides for the children and unfortunately there is not a safe corner where one does not get splashed or jumped over. The hot pool is 3 times smaller than the cold one and the children play, jump and splash there too. It is of course ideal for a family who wants to sit directly on the restaurant's deck and watch their children, it is a children's paradise. There was a group of people who played rock hard music and socialized on Friday and Saturday. It was also very clear that there were more people on the stand than allowed. This was a major annoyance and although several campers complained, the resort did nothing about it. This made us realize that there is no active management or guards on the grounds. The self drive option was convenient and we also booked two trips with the guides. The guides were very friendly and made an effort with their tours. Mabalingwe is a good pocket-friendly option for families with young children and for people who want to see the big 5 without driving to Kruger National Park. (Note the lions are in enclosures). I would rather suggest a resort like Klein Kariba for couples looking for more peace and relaxation and think Mabalingwe could take a tip or two from this competing resort and apply it.
Restaurant at camping camp was then on Saturday for a private function. No notice of this during booking. Loud music until late.
We are very satisfied with the site itself, lovely coolness and clean, but the ablution facilities are old and neglected, and give the impression of dirt. Jacuzzis at the R&R Bar don't work, staff make comments like, "It's not making bubbles". If places have jacuzzis, it should work. A fee of R10 is charged for 30 minutes or something similar for maintenance. feel free to provide for solar power or generators during load shedding. We experienced that there is almost no water during load shedding.
No power on my stand. Broken braai. The stand we were given was right on top of our neighbour. People go camping to relax and have a little peace and quiet. They had an event and did not bother telling anyone before booking. Friday night we did not get to sleep because of the event members' noise. We were supposed to stay until Monday, checked out on Saturday and went to another camp.
Was really lovely, clean and tidy, very friendly and helpful service. Absolutely value for money, would definitely go there again. Thank you.
Staff was very friendly with check-in. Everything was very nice. I just want to thank Elnè very much for her help with our golf clubs that my husband forgot there. She really made a lot of effort for us.
We really enjoyed it and rested well!
We were lucky to be able to choose a different pitch than the one we would have booked, anyway didn't know which pitch we chose until we got there.
We had a great time camping. The ablution facilities are clean and tidy. The staff were all helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend Mabilingwe!
Very nice camping as always. Quiet clean. Saw beautiful animals.
Lots to do and see at the site and nearby.
The fact that one can do a self drive is a bonus. The facilities were adequate. The only obstacle is the staff who stay on top of the shop who make noise in the evening and because it is high, the sound travels far.
It was the best camping weekend we all have ever had. We had a flat tire on Saturday on the way back from Kalahari oasis, then Dawie came to help us, he started working there on Friday. He helped us so nicely and he was so professional. He is sure to be a great asset to Mabalingwe. Everyone is friendly there, we will definitely go to Mabalingwe again.
Effective check-in and good facilities.
Apart from the self-drives that one can take in the reserve, there are many birds and animals in the caravan park. The ablutions were pretty clean. The hot pool next to the cold one was a bonus.
Nice woodland walk, peaceful atmosphere.
Beautiful place with nice and clean ablution facilities as well as a small shop with a good selection of necessities and a bar that prepares the most delicious pizzas. The monkeys bother a bit but it's like that everywhere, some roads are badly damaged and definitely not suitable for normal vehicles like the road out to the lookout point where I had a lot of trouble as well as the road towards the entrance on the right as you drive in from the main tarmac. The walkways in the caravan park could be cleaned a little to keep ticks off walkers. Furthermore beautiful place, friendly staff and Mabalingwe caravan park is highly recommended especially if you are a bird watcher/photographer.
Nice visit, peaceful, ablutions were very clean. Seen a lot of wildlife.
Our stand was beautiful.
Nice campsite, nice swimming pools.
Mabalingwe always a winner.
Have a nice time. Saw many beautiful animals.
Amenities very poor, no cleaners, bathrooms are not comfortable at all, sinks are way too high and too far back, no child or older person can use them without help. Toilet paper was often out and no one was available except upstairs at the office. Loud music was played until after 3 in the morning and no person was there to control it. Very poor management.
Fun for the whole family.
