A comfortable and safe place that I would visit again anytime. The hostess is very friendly, the place is so beautiful, one cannot get enough of all the beauty.

We slept great and felt safe. Rooms could do with smaller furniture as rooms are small. Cupboards way too big, which means that the fridge has to stand in the middle of the floor, and when you want to use the kettle, you have to put it on the ground, as there is no wall plug near the kettle. The room built on top of the dining room is very disturbing, and I believe that person also feels uncomfortable. One hears every footstep, as well as if the person turns on taps when you are eating and there is someone in that room. Possibly they can also just mark parking, so that vehicles don't have to stand one behind the other. It is really beautiful, conveniently located and safe. Would recommend it as accommodation.
MacGregors is very well located but parking is very messy and had to stop carefully to avoid parking each other. There is only SABC and Mnet in the rooms, so no choice of DStv, room also has no fridge for own drinks. There is no choice of breakfast so only got 2 eggs and 2 strips of bacon each, and for me as a grown man that is not enough at all. We were kindly received but when we checked out there was no one to be seen and the cook came to collect our key from reception. Very nice garden and clean facilities but unfortunately not worth the price.

Good beds, tidy rooms, pretty garden and secure parking (although parking will be crowded when the guesthouse is full). The breakfast is sufficient. The disappointment was that there was only one coffee mug in the room. The lady at reception, however, noticed when she took me to the room that there was a coffee mug (just like the one standing in the room) on the table in the garden, which according to her, was used by the gardener. The door to the bathroom from the room's side couldn't open. We had to call her for help, and she admitted that the door often gives problems. The TV shows are jumbled and not tuned in. In an area where there is so much accommodation to choose from, I give this criticism as constructive. We travel frequently and want value for our money and time. I would really use a different guest house next time.

Homely. Beautiful interior decor, peaceful garden, very well located. Safe environment, comfortable rooms and a charming, friendly hostess. Definitely recommended.
Very nice clean and beautiful place. There is just no DStv. The wife of the house has DStv and you can only watch the 2 channels she puts on. The pool was a big plus for the kids.

The setting is lovely. I rang the bell about 7 times before I was let in. My issues were that my room didn't have a fridge. There is no DStv, and bad reception of SABC channels. The WiFi signal was non-existent. The pillows were hard and flat. My shower was blocked. On arrival I was made to fill out a guest form, which included dietary requirements for breakfast, to which my "wheat free + vegan" answer was ignored and I was offered eggs and bacon. And finally, on my last night I was woken by a strange noise (what sounded like a huge rat) in the roof and no electricity. I think the rat actually ate through the cables. Other than that, it was delightful.
We checked in at about 1pm on a Saturday. There was no answer to the intercom or bell, and we had to shout through the gate for attention. In the end, another guest opened up for us. The manager had no record of our reservation, and the room we booked was already given to another guest. We then got another room. The next morning the driver was gone again, and there was no sign of the breakfast we had been promised, so we found ourselves alone. The place itself is clean and nice, but the service is poor and dismal. Avoid at all costs.
My stay at MacGregors was awesome. I was home while away from home. Bliss!!
The owner and his spouse were very friendly. We enjoyed the time there and felt very safe. The breakfast was great. Just a pity they didn't expect us until the following day because they weren't informed.
Close to Menlin Mall And N1. Quiet area within a secure park. We booked two rooms; small suite was spacious and well equipped with a small kitchen. Second bedroom was very small and cramped but beautifully decorated. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Will definitely recommend it for an overnight stay in Pretoria.
The service was excellent and I enjoyed my stay.
