Very nice stay! Very calm. The food you can order is also very tasty. Will book again.
Just need to provide more warm blankets.
Really enjoyed and the hospitality of owners was priceless. If you just want to switch off this is the place to be.
If you are looking for tranquility, only sounds of nature, then you will love this! Here is a dirt road that you have to drive, which is in good condition. Low vehicles may struggle to drive up to the top of the chalets! No plugs in rooms, just take a long lead! We did find the tranquility we were looking for here!
Nice stay, very friendly welcome. Clean and tidy.
Magalies Bush Lodge is a gem. One truly experiences rest and peace. You only hear the birds. The owners go out of their way to make sure you are happy. We will visit again. The Springbok Chalet is beautiful and well equipped.
Went with 6 and 3 year old boys, they had fun to the fullest. Hiking, swimming and the beautiful sky at night in the dark. No music, no TV, so it was an amazing experience for them. We enjoyed it, relaxed and refreshed.
Only the water pressure in the shower needs to be looked at.
Very friendly owners who go out of their way for you. Wonderfully quiet and peaceful. We could go for a nice walk to the lookout point and just walk around the farm. Very relaxing!
The scenery was amazing, I loved being surrounded by nature. It was very private and there were no disturbances. Great customer service.
We had a fun time, in spite of all the challenges, we enjoyed our stay.
Getting away for the weekend was perfect for that get away nice walking and barbecue.
Nice hiking trails and beautiful viewpoints.
Clean and tidy. Thank you.
Only one plug port in kitchen, nothing in rooms. My partner has breathing difficulty in early morning so had to get to the nearest hospital for oxygen, informed the owner, we arrived 3pm Monday left Tuesday at 9:30 am he was not willing to refund R700 for the 2nd day. So it was a disappointing one night when it should have been 2 nights. Only nice thing was I was able to do the hike. It's fast out and long distance gravel roads.
The place is just great, nature all around and very safe for family as well.
We only spent one night at Magalies Bush Lodge. Elisabeth went out of her way to accommodate us with requests at short notice. Accommodation is fairly standard (not luxurious) but still comfortable with all essentials. The private braai areas at each cottage are a bonus. Unfortunately there was an unplanned power outage from the evening until we left the next morning. Two of our guests are dependent on oxygen machines during the night and therefore we were not able to fully enjoy the break away optimally. Elisabeth kept us informed about the power outage (which was out of their control). The children really enjoyed the pig!
We stayed in the stone house (springbok), everything was very neat and clean and there was everything we needed. It was truly just what was needed for a weekend getaway, the quietness and privacy of the cottage was wonderful. We also really enjoyed the walk to the lookout point, unfortunately we didn't see any wildlife but the friendly pig herd who came to tell us tomorrow on Saturday morning made up for it. She made us feel right at home. We really enjoyed the weekend, I would just like to make 2 suggestions, firstly it would help a lot if there could just be a freezer with ice on the premises for guests to buy ice there so you don't need to to drive, secondly I would like to suggest that 2 of the cots should be replaced with a double bed. But otherwise everything was perfect and Kenny was very helpful and his wife came to tidy up our place nicely on Saturday morning. Many thanks to Magalies Bush Lodge, we will definitely visit again.
A private, peaceful and tranquil atmosphere.
Our two young teens could literally go wild without worrying about disturbing other guests. The units are private from the other. We had to choose Rooibok because we drove a sedan but were very pleased. Although we did not walk to the look-out point and didn't see any wildlife, it was great to be surrounded by forest. We watched beautiful stars, braaied, swam and walked. Kenny made sure everything around the pool and play area were clean and the morning cleaning of the chalet was a bonus. The chalet is equipped with basic equipment, but we did not miss anything. The giant sow that walked around came to visit us, the children loved her. We will visit Magalies Bush Lodge again. The silence did us well.
Was a lovely break. Slightly impractical braai facilities, and pool area. Neat finish.
The accommodation was clean and comfortable and Kenny helpful and friendly. The sunsets were beautiful and we enjoyed walking in the woods, just a shame the paths are not well signposted. Plates fell off in rain/wind. Although we only saw 3 springboks, enjoyed the rest in nature.
The place is ideal for a group visit, and the road from the main road is really not ideal for sedans. The directions are given after payments are done therefore makes it very difficult to change our mind once you are aware of the place and the area. There is a stove without an oven. The place is ideal for camping.
What an unbelievably peaceful place! We saw some buck! Great place to break away from the hurried life. Not to mention the people at reception who were helpful and showed us everything on arrival. I would recommend Magalies Bush Lodge for a peaceful getaway in the bush. We will definitely stay here again!
Basic facilities in the house, precisely what we wanted - we want to experience nature.
Nice setting, very basic but perfect for a day or two's getaway.
There was very friendly service and the place itself was a nice getaway for someone who needs to take a break from city life.
Special area with cosy places to relax. The best thing is the simple self-catering. Typical bushveld with loads of hiking trails. A bit far for nearby towns, but ideal for a getaway.
Hospitable reception and we had a lovely weekend.
We enjoyed our time there, especially the night by the fire under the stars. Everything was comfy and we enjoyed hiking in the bush.
A lovely place to visit if you want to be out of the busy city. I had fun and wouldn't mind coming back again. But they need to upgrade the roads, when it's raining you can't drive or car. Other than that we had a blast.
We were 5 adults and 4 children. Mercy received us kindly. The 2 chalets were neat and clean. We thoroughly enjoyed the visit around the fire (forest TV). On Saturday we ventured into the cold pool and had a nice swim. Although it rained on Saturday night, we still had a chance to grill and eat our meat. The weekend just went by too quickly we didn't even get to the waterhole or lookout point. We will definitely visit the Lodge again.
The unit was neat with a lovely braai area. Everything was clean except for the kitchen - everything still had food from previous guests and the microwave was coated with dirt. Apart from this we really enjoyed our weekend. We would just recommend informing guests beforehand that target shooting is practiced on the neighbouring farm. The constant shooting taking place just metres form us was not pleasant. Just a warning beforehand would've helped. Would definitely come visit again in the bushveld. Thank you.
With this, on behalf of my parents and my family I would like to thank you for a lovely stay. Everybody really enjoyed it and especially the feeding of the bush pigs. It's not everyday that townies (excluding my sons and I - hunters) get to experience something like this. Everything was perfect and of excellent quality. Wouldn't have changed a thing. Just sorry the rain caught us on Saturday and that the floor was dirty because of it. I recommend you put a mop in each unit. Be sure we'll visit again!
Very nice, relaxing weekend in 'n great area.
I booked the bigger Bosbok (was confirmed) but the small Bosbok was allocated to me. The unit doesn't have a lounge and no comfortable chairs inside or at the lapa. The photo on the page is confusing because the view is not seen from the houses and only from the look-out point.
