The only problem was that our stay was too short. Would have liked to stay much longer than the 2 nights! The decor is beautiful. All equipment is modern, the place is clean. Everything you need was there, as well as the extra 'touch' such as white roses here and there and even in the sinks in the bathrooms. Beautiful garden! Thank you very much.

Most beautiful location, safe and spacious accommodation. Very good quality bedding as well as kitchen equipment, thought of everything, even spices, milk etc. We had a fantastic 3 nights, would definitely recommend. Meryl met us there for key as well as directions, thank you very much!

Comfortable stay in a clean and spacious house. The only complaint was the parking next to the street without a gate.

The accommodation had everything we needed. We were very comfortable in this lovely setting in the middle of McGregor.

We were in McGregor during the coldest weekend in the history of the world. For this particular weekend, it would have been nice to have a little heater (we spent some time reading and writing - which was the aim of the weekend). The TV remotes do need some instructions - they were impenetrable and it would have been nice to have some music at some stage. The cottage was well positioned in terms of getting to the town and we really enjoyed the local restaurants and coffee shops (and even an impromptu yoga class). Enjoyed our weekend very much. Thank you.

This is simply not just another self-catering cottage, it adjoins the owner's holiday home, so those who this does not suit, should note it is not a free standing cottage on its own property. That said, the owners allow you complete privacy and the attention to detail is impeccable. Beautifully equipped and everything worked perfectly, also spotlessly clean, it has a very good location in the upper section of McGregor which is where you want to be. We would certainly return and highly recommend it.

On arrival I felt like a guest of honour. I was heartily welcomed and taken to a stylish flat with fresh roses in every room. The flat is fully equipped and there was even rusks to go with the coffee. In the well-manicured garden the scent of roses and lavender follows you to the braai area. If you're looking for rest for your soul, come to McGregor, a place where people stop for a passing guinea fowl family.

"Peaceful getaway for someone who works hard!"

We were very pleased because everything is beautiful and luxurious. Only the best was at our disposal. We had a great rest and got to read to the books and magazines in the house. The garden is like an oasis and we just wanted to spend time on the patio with the beautiful garden to look at. We have already seen all the DVDs - but it is not their fault! We missed our TV channels but we could read, so that's fine. We would love to visit again someday!

The guest house is central and in a beautiful environment. It's beautiful, safe and the service is good. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Enjoyed the evening a lot! Pretty place, nothing shorts in the house and the only negative was the WiFi reception, but they are apparently working on it. The hostess was excellent, she kept us up to date, the place was lovely and clean. Will we stay there again? A definite yes!

Ek was verras oor hoe groot en goed toegerus die verblyf was en hoe huislik dit gevoel het. Die TV en DVD's was 'n lekker ekstra en ons kon heerlik in die sitkamer ontspan. Alles wat jy nodig het is in die hoofstraat, is binne loopafstand en die gasheer was wonderlik.

We loved the beautiful and tastefully decorated garden rooms. We did not want for anything. Pleasant greetings and departures. However the rooms were not sound proof. Loved McGregor - a peaceful and friendly town. Will recommend it. Thanks for the stay.

"Neat, but not private."

Maggie's Gift is neat, but there were things that bothered us: we specified that we wanted two king size beds made up, then in one room there were two single beds which then had to be made over. The unit opens onto a lawn and garden where other people were also walking around, so we didn't feel private. There was also a painter working around there too. Also, the WiFi is so weak that we couldn't work or get emails, which is problematic for both of us. The DVD player didn't work until someone came to fix it two nights later. The hair dryer was not where it was supposed to be according to the listing (it was in the other room) as was the mosquito plug so we had to search for it. The key to the back porch was nowhere to be found, and we were told the next day that it was in a tin somewhere. So the place was not as comfortable and private as I am used to during weekends away.
