122 guests' feedbackEverything was good, except the shower. You have either cold or hot water, nothing in between. Gas.
Internet was poor, layout and environment was exceptional.
You pay for the view and environment, not the accommodation. The bathroom gave off a bad smell to the point where we left a day early. Prosper is an absolute champion and is there in every way whenever you need him. Only bass in the dams, so don't expect great fly fishing for trout, but the bass fishing is great in both dams.
Stay was great. Very loud wedding on the Saturday night that ruined the 'forest escape' we were after, but otherwise great. The venue should have a cut-off time for loud events as the party carried on until 2 am and we couldn't sleep.
Very peaceful, very nice, beautiful surroundings.
The log cabins need a serious update. Very poor conditions.
Nice fish in the lower pond. Might set up a swing at lower dam for small kids.
Loved the view and location, few things need to be attended to. Beds need to be replaced. Silicon layered in basin needs to be replaced and the walls and kitchen area need to be cleaned properly including the bathroom. Otherwise, we will bring the family with us next time.
Shower does not allow hot water in the lower bathroom due to low pressure. Hot water is for two showers only. The wooden deck was broken. The given Wi-Fi password was wrong.
Person at front desk very disinterested. Hiking and walking trails overgrown and not marked. Unit needs basic maintenance eg. hot water tap should be working better in the shower. View and setting are beautiful. Basic information regarding the solar lights which just come on in the bedrooms, would be appreciated.
Perfect place to recharge your batteries.
Very peaceful atmosphere.
Calm atmosphere. Central location to all the attractions in the area. Access road may be a challenge for some car drivers.
What a beautiful place so between the mountains and bonus we could take our dogs with us without any stress. Friendly and helpful, would definitely go again.
A quiet and cool place, only nature speaks to you.
Well furnished wooden house in which we stayed. It's just very cold in the winter so take a hot water bag with you. The most beautiful view. We had a very nice stay. A bonus was the box of board games. We also ordered a dinner and it was top notch.
It was really nice to have the pond right here in front of you and we really enjoyed the fishing. Although we were there in late winter, the surroundings were still grassy green and lush.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the scenery is stunning.
Very nice stay, but the shower system needs attention, the pressure of the hot water is weak and then you shower in colder water. The entrance road (dirt road) to the lodge is in very poor condition and an SUV or bakkie is required to drive there. The wooden units lack general maintenance on the wooden structure due to normal exposure to the weather etc., but still in good structural condition.
Positive: Beautiful location and great bass and trout ponds to catch. The wooden houses are very well equipped with the necessary self-catering necessities. Ideal for a couples getaway for the weekend. Quiet and beautiful surroundings in the forest. Negative: The road is very bad. Do not attempt this with a low, soft vehicle. The room could be a bit more tidy, there were old alarm system parts lying around, could take them away instead. The "spotlights" outside did not work and the porch light is only faint, a bit of a risk if you walk at night, there are many uneven areas and streams. Other than that it was a very pleasant experience, I will definitely go back again to catch those bass. Very nice place.
We had a great time, and it was great that our dog child could come along. We stayed in the Narina unit, and the place was very neat. Thank goodness for gas stove and gas geyser in the loadshedding times! Would only suggest that a "non-slip" mat be placed in the bath where one showers - almost had a nasty accident there. There are also a lot of wasp nests on the deck, so it would be nice to look into trying to remove them, as we spent most of the time there, and it could be a great hang out spot. I would also suggest that you mention that the path leading down to the resort can look quite intimidating for people coming from the city, but we got used to it by the second day. The sliding door lock gave problems, and would not always close. But these are not complaints, just to bring it to your attention. We had a truly wonderful time, and would love to go again!
Rustic cottage on a commercial farm.
Unit is very neglected and needs attention. Kitchenware is very ugly and old and makes one feel that the place is very neglected and that not much attention is paid to vacationers' needs. Staff are friendly but constant power outages definitely put a damper on the holiday as there isn't much to do on the farm (apart from fishing). Definitely not a child friendly environment.
When we arrived we immediately liked the place. When we checked in, we were told that we were not going to stay in the wooden houses next to the dam, but in a one-bedroom house behind the office. It was immediately a "let down". What made things worse was how dirty the place was. Walls and ceiling are dirty, hair in the bath. The door frames are rusted. Kitchen cabinets fall out of each other. Dishes were not washed properly. No plates, just side plates. Refrigerator is frozen and does not cool properly. Washing machine "outlet" stinks and midges come out all the time. Our idea was to just relax and enjoy the scenery all weekend, so instead we spent the whole Saturday visiting friends in Tzaneen and only went back to sleep after dark. Very disappointed, not what would expect.
Dankie vir alles! Ons sien jul weer!
Loved the location, service, amenities and many attractions close by. Peaceful calm getaway.
Wonderful environment. Friendly service. Home away from home.
We were a family of 5 with 4 dogs. Not sure who enjoyed it more - us or the dogs. Beautiful scenery. Everything was in the cottage and more that we needed. Would definitely recommend it. We were there for 3 days and 2 nights.

Was disappointed in the cleanliness of the apartment. The kitchen's pots and pans are not suitable for two people. Our apartment was for two people. There is no braai wood for sale, only fireplace wood. The braai is falling apart and the patio chairs are very uncomfortable.
The road to the accommodation can be a bit challenging but doable, once you get there, it's as if you're stepping into a fairy tale. The views are beautiful and everyone there is so friendly, we will definitely go back.
The area is very beautiful, but the unit we stayed in (Nerina) needed some renovations. It was not as clean as expected, and we also have very little cutlery etc. We also wanted to follow their hiking trail, but it also needed some renovation, as it was very overgrown and therefore difficult to walk.
On arrival the bedsheets had dried blood on, when I reported it I was asked am I sure its not mine. When maintenance came to change the bedding she said it was a blood stain. It was not a stain, you could feel the dried blood. On running the shower we were advised it would take longer as it was gas. In actual fact it would warm up quicker, the geyser never warmed up and I was advised "I'm sorry its out of my hands". We had cold water the whole weekend. The next morning on making coffee there was dried milk film on 2 cups and the plates were not clean. I took pictures of the sheets and dirty cups should this be useful. By that time after I complained we stopped complaining and decided we would make the most of our weekend. The owner was not contactable and I was advised they cannot give me any details. It was disappointing.
Plus is chocolate on pillows. Provision of coffee, tea and milk on arrival. Good reception and service by workers. Cleaning of place every day. WiFi provided. Beautiful scenery.
Reception was friendly and quick and gave us our keys and immediately helped us rent 2 fishing rods and put fish on the corners. The house was tidy and well equipped with everything we needed. The chocolates on the beds were that little something extra that made you feel welcome. The sliding doors to the pond side bring nature right into the house and I would go back there anytime. Although the fish weren't biting, we saw them swimming teasingly in the pond a few times. I had no problem with my son walking around there. It is very safe. It is the perfect place to go if you need to catch your breath, rest, find calm in nature.
Beautiful misty mornings and awesome sunsets.
We were surprised and spoiled, it was really nice and will definitely go again for much longer. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. Thank you very much for the flowers and beautiful house.
Ablution in cabin 2 leaves a lot to be desired as it needs resealing (existing silicone sealant is stained), shower doors loose and toilet could only do a half flush.
Magoebaskloof getaway is close enough to the Kruger National Park to drive through just for a day. There are also many activities in the area to keep the whole family busy in the great outdoors. Thank you very much for an unforgettable holiday.
Had a great stay, beautiful area and neat. I think it'll be a beautiful wedding venue!
We really enjoyed the stay and scenery. The surroundings are beautiful and a feast for the eyes. The house was clean and tidy. Unfortunately, the road is not very drivable and we had to drive very carefully with our Corolla.
Very nice stay. Beautiful scenery. Central in Magoebaskloof.
Very quiet and lovely on the water. We really did relax. The shower can be better, it fluctuates constantly between too hot and too cold water, but the right temperature remains to be avoided. The place is neat, but can be made slightly cleaner, someone's old sock is discovered under our bed. Furthermore, it is a lovely place and the service very good.
We stayed in the log cabin with sleeping space for 6 people. The environment is picturesque. The log cabin is fully equipped and was neat and clean. Unfortunately, the hot water system (geysers) is outdated and not very efficient. My teenage sons bathroom did not have hot water. Management did address the problem when we reported the problem. Even with the master bedroom's geyser, it was a nearly impossible task to have a constant flow of hot water when showering. The water will suddenly become ice cold, and when the gas geyser turns on again, the water is so boiling that you have to stand outside the stream to avoid getting burned. If the geysers are replaced with more modern geysers, I will be able to recommend the accommodation wholeheartedly.
The balcony fence is loose. Please repair ─ it is a safety hazard. Do this maintenance on a regular basis. Please check all the electrical bulbs prior to check in ─ my outside one was not working ─ had to call in for replacement of bulb. The steps downstairs is slippery during rain ─ a safety hazard ─ please put foot stoppers/anti-slip tape. The showers and rest of the bathroom needs maintenance ─ lots of algae and loose silicon and not clean in the shower ─ a health hazard. Please give training to workers to do the cleaning properly (changing of towels, tea, coffee etc) ─ give them a check list.
Die ligte is dof so gordyne moet oop so kant gordyne 'n beslis. Eden's Glen venue se kos is uitstekend.
Beautiful location, well equipped with games provided. Our second night lived up to the tranquility as expected. Our first night we simply listened to deafening music from a wedding on site until 12pm - after management assured us just after 6pm that the wedding was over (knowing it wasn't) . So, if there is a function, stay away. If there is no function, it can be recommended.
Very good. Will come again any time.
From the first moment it was just amazing. The reception was so friendly and warm, we really felt welcome. The unit was lovely clean and tidy, nothing was missing. The scenery is breathtaking. The tranquility is out of another world. I can say nothing but perfect. Beth, thank you very much for a weekend in the heart of the mountains, it's something you won't forget. We will definitely come back again.
Location - wow! Breathtaking! Wow! Accommodation - amazing with superb attention to detail. Even had a whole range of games available i.e. Monopoly, domino, poker, scrabble, chess etc. Beth, manager - super friendly! Felt like coming to a family member, even though it was our first time there. Overall - unbelievable. To be absolutely honest it was the best getaway ever. We will be back (quote from Terminator - Arnold Schwarzenegger), but we will be back for sure. Thank you Beth for the amazing time that we have had and for making us feel at home. Our dogs loved their first holiday in their life and they really enjoyed the hospitality of your dogs.

It's a wonderful place and we enjoyed every moment.
We were very pleasantly surprised with the furniture and rooms and bathrooms. The kitchen has EVERYTHING your heart desires. Then there is a pond in front of the chalets and my 4-year-old granddaughter caught 3 bass. It's quite cool in the evening so take a jacket with you. I will definitely go again.
We have never been to a place that has everything we need. From two-point plugs to UNO and WiFi. It was calm and beautiful!
The kitchen in the cabin gives new meaning to the words 'fully equipped', everything you might need and more. The cottage was sparkling clean, with good linen. It's beautiful and peaceful so next to the dam.
Definitely a beautiful place hidden away in the Magoebaskloof Pass. The wooden chalets are particularly neat, and have everything you can think of for a self-catering unit. Very safe, very clean, very tidy. Definitely bring binoculars. There are all kinds of animals to look at if you sit quietly on the porch and look out over the pond. We will definitely see the place again!
It was a nice break. House is neat, well equipped and clean. All I can complain about is that the sun shines directly on the porch in the afternoon, and it makes the house incredibly hot, you can't sit on the porch and enjoy the view at all because the sun will burn you to death, you can nor inside the house because it feels like a sauna. I suggest that they extend the roof in front of the stoep and equip the houses with air conditioning.
The booking was effortless. Upon my arrival, I was upgraded to a larger unit, without any extra costs. The unit was clean, well laid out and fully equipped. Everything was perfect except that the fish didn't want to bite (certainly not the management's fault!)
We were welcomed with open arms even though it was just before 21:00 in the evening. We felt safe and it was extremely private which was nice. The water for showering was hot and the free Wi-Fi helped us to do business and communicate more easily. We will love to go there again.
Pretty and clean cabins with stunning natural beauty. Friendly staff. Breakfast a bit expensive.
All problem I encountered was the directions to get there, not very clear, stressed us out, and the turn off to the place is right around a bend in the mountains and people are rushing around it! For a stranger in those regions it was not as easy as for someone who drives there daily! We had to call the hostess twice due to the directions! Soon we forgot about it when we first saddled up!
I've never been to Magoebaskloof, it's really an experience. The beauty of nature is breathtaking and you can rest completely. I really want to come back!
Als very nice and cute, beautiful place. There was just no one at reception to help us, had to wait for someone.
Wonderful scenery, peaceful stay. View over the dam and up the slopes is breathtaking. Small things inside the cabin can be looked at such as cutlery can be refurbished. Shower does not work well, Water constantly alternates between hot and cold no matter how you set it. Reported but no action taken.
Very nice and peaceful, only criticism is that the power at the cottages was off for 28 hours and that the problem did not receive the necessary seriousness from management.
Unbeatable natural beauty and great variety of wildlife. With Beth on leave reception left a lot to be desired. For the full two days there was no WiFi or cell phone reception. Power was out one night early evening until next morning and there were no candles or flashlights provided.
Beth did her utmost to make our stay pleasant. Unfortunately housekeeping is not great from the cleanliness of cabin to the surroundings eg cigarette butts from previous guest all around the front of the cabin. The surrounding and location is wonderful. A most beautiful place.
The crockery and cutlery had not been very clean.
Beautiful scenery and breathtakingly beautiful, but unfortunately Cabbin 4 was very dirty, it was only cleaned on the surface. It's a pity because it spoils how beautiful the place is.

Outstanding facilities and friendly management. Had a lovely time with my family and can really recommend Magoebaskloof Getaway.
The accommodation, the nature and beauty were all perfect. It is not every day that one can experience such a wonderful experience of being among the most beautiful nature. The accommodation was clean and tidy and the services excellent. Will definitely go there again.
Bedding, towels and kitchen equipment all spotless and fresh. We felt really welcome.
We spent a wonderful day at Magoebaskloof Getaway, it was a bonus that our dogs were welcome. Beth, the manager, was very helpful and willing to make concessions so that we could depart a little bit later due to unforeseen circumstances. We will definitely go back again.
Highly recommend for taking your dogs. Beautiful place.
Magoebaskloof is a special place and the Magoebaskloof Getaway is equally special. From the first call the staff were friendly and helpful. They were also willing to receive me outside the normal subscription hours. The wooden house on stilts is beautifully situated between the trout ponds and the green mountains which provide a picture-perfect view at any time of the day. The cottage was kept clean without me even noticing the staff! The resort is conveniently close to a variety of tourist attractions such as the Modjadji breadfruit forest, the Debegeni waterfalls and the Coach House hotel as well as the local centres, Tzaneen and Haenertsburg. It was wonderful and I recommend the Magoebaskloof Getaway with pleasure.
Ideal for a romantic getaway.
So peaceful and very picturesque.
It was an amazing weekend and we're coming back in March. Friendly, neat and lovely area. As my wife said, a true Garden of Eden.
Friendly reception, beautiful scenery. Incredible experience.
Bev, the manager is very friendly. Cabins have everything one needs. Road there is also very well maintained as well as grounds.
Magoebaskloof Getaway is a beautiful place with everything you need for a lovely getaway weekend. The people are friendly and everything is nice and clean and neat and we enjoyed it a lot and will definitely recommend the place to anyone who loves nature.
Very nice stay. Good resting place and very quiet.
Clean and neat. Comfy beds with crisp linen. Loved the frogs singing at night!
If you want peace and to recharge this is the place. Very friendly.
Stunning, clean, comfortable, good service and everything that's good.
Magoebaskloof Getaway was lovely, the cabins were clean and well equipped. Excellent destination and recommended for anyone who wants to rest. Applause. Thanks so much.
Very tranquil, scenery is beautiful!
Very peaceful and beautiful. Would recommend bakkie or 4x4. Dirt road is rough. Make sure there is not a wedding at the venue, it disturbs the silence.
Beautiful scenery and wildlife with a variety of birds, samango monkeys and plenty of fish and frogs.
Service from MRS Green highly commendable, however the rooms lacked proper cleaning as with the kitchen which really needed attention. Not all electrical appliances worked, this had been mentioned to management.
Beautiful place with the most beautiful scenery. Staff are very friendly and we were spoiled with cleaning every day. Loved the fog and soft rain.
We loved our unit and the fact that our 4-legged child was welcomed with open arms, was an added bonus. We will be back for another brake away, this time with the whole family.
Very comfortable. Would really like to do it again. The gravel road is quite intimidating, but the accommodation is wonderful.
Lovely stay.
We enjoyed it so much! It took my doggies along. The nature was breathtaking and my husband caugh his bigges carp ever. Will definitely book again in March.
Very nice dams and close to everything in Magoebaskloof with very friendly people.
Getaway's accommodation is neat and clean. They will definitely see me again!
Beautiful wooden houses with everything you need for self-catering. Feel free to take a fishing rod with you, you will regret it if you forget it. Although the dirt road is reasonably maintained, I would recommend that low vehicles not be used. The surroundings are picturesque.
The reception was pleasant and professional and the house was comfortable with a beautiful view. I would just like to see more TV channels to choose from on those rainy days because it makes it a bit boring to just see SABC and other channels.
Such a beautiful area, our cabin wasn't properly cleaned before our arrival though (covered in dust) and there was an unpleasant smell. Not a single trout in the top dam, just bass (lots of bass). Very tranquil place though and very nice if you need to relax, just pay some attention to the log cabins.
Would recommend it to any person who really wants to rest away from the city to go on holiday there, absolute peace and quiet, driver was more than helpful and staff always polite and very helpful, could really "recharge" in rest, peace and quiet !
Very neat and clean. Beautiful area. Will definitely visit again!
The path down to the farm is in good condition, but if you are nervous about heights it might be a problem. Very steep and now! But the scenery is breathtakingly beautiful. My first time in the Magoebaskloof area - I was ecstatic. The reception was really friendly and helpful. The accommodation was very comfortable and clean and that view! I just couldn't stop taking pictures. Very peaceful and just the place to get quiet and forget about work!
The cottage inside needs a lot of attention. The cupboard door does not have handles on it. The toilet's flushing mechanism is not working properly.
Cabana is a neglected log cabin and the floor is dirty and peeling. There is a hole in the roof where cockroaches are climbing out. The place is dirty and the grill is so dirty you can't grill with it. It is insufficient self-care if there is no braai tong. The windows could not be closed, the door was difficult to close and the fridge was not working properly. The Cabana is not up to standard, and I don't want to hear it's cheap housing, sorry but there must be standards.
Very nice accommodation in a beautiful setting. Unfortunately there was no hot water in the one bathroom when we were there, but we were advised of this when checking in.
Beautiful surroundings. Incredibly clean and tidy. Please also visit Heanertsburg!
See the stars below.
The wooden houses are very neat and well furnished. It's definitely worth it!
It had a very peaceful feel to us, just what we were looking for to break away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The log cabin was well equipped. Environment incredibly beautiful.
The setting is magical. We especially liked the little trickling streams that soothed our weary nerves!
Will definitely come back again.
It is a beautiful part of our country and we enjoyed it.
There weren't too many people, just right for a weekend to be alone and quiet.
Relaxing, shady, and peaceful. Good value for money.
Beautiful scenery, walking paths and a nice wooden house awaited us.
The accommodation is basic, but it was clean and peaceful. I have already recommended someone and will be happy to visit again.
