Beautiful little place with a breathtaking view!
We stayed in the Dolphin unit. It was very clean, tidy and comfortable. The service was friendly and the hostess made us feel welcome when we stopped by. There is everything you need and secure parking.
We had a wonderful stay. Warmly received by the host, even got a pack of ice for free! The unit was clean, and the view lovely. We will visit again.

Amazing location, premises are ideally situated, cleanliness is excellent. Provided utilities are perfectly catered for.
The land lines do not work at all I could not get in touch with the manager. The room (See Horse) does not have a sea view, nor barbecue facilities. To pay R2100 and later find out the facility does not exist is absurd. I had to carry a Weber up to the place myself and was told I had to make sure I put it down again. The balcony is so small and dirty, you don't want to stand there. Makarios, not again.

Parking space in front of this unit must be reserved for the guest staying in it. Parking space is used by the public and blocks sea view. Other than that, no complaints.
We had a great time and relaxed and went for a nice walk along the sea and enjoyed seafood at Duttons Cove Restaurant.

Very modern, neat and clean. Everything there that is needed to have a good time.
The units are beautifully and stylishly furnished. All amenities at your disposal, even a dishwasher. We would like to stay longer to read through the wide range of available books. Makarios' location is absolutely indescribable and you can hear the waves so close you are to the sea.
Pleasant stay. Amazing location and view. All problem is parking which is in public parking and not on premises. Had to move my vehicle immediately according to owner. Although subsequent guests could park basically wherever they wanted. Our ID documents were immediately asked for and copies made. In no other place has this been asked. So I felt very uncomfortable upon arrival. I don't think I will book with Makarios again myself.

Very nice stay. Everything was perfect. Parking in season may be problematic, but out of season there is no reason to stress about it.
It was one of our best vacations ever. The location is fantastic and the service every day is very good.
The unit I rented only had a thought of hot water in the shower. The problem was reported early Saturday morning (working day), but nothing was done. Rain, cloudy days and cold winds do not go together with cold showers. It could have been dealt with immediately and was not done.
We asked for a sea view, didn't realize you had to hang out the window. TV did not work.
Not sure what this means. One comment. I came home at 11.30 on the night, and the outside area was very dark, it was difficult to open the door, also the inside was dark, they need some night lights.
First prize goes to the location. Unbeatable! Closest you can get to the ocean. The facilities are fantastic. The staff are just as fantastic. We simply don't have any critique, just a lot of praise. Can't wait to go back. Breathtakingly beautiful and unforgettable!

Pictures on site of different units are very confusing. We thought we were by the ocean and had a full ocean view, but we only got a slight ocean view in a tiny unit. Didn't stay there and instead looked for other accommodation. The owner/agent who worked with us was arrogant and unfit, will definitely refer no one there. If I could give customer service no stars, I definitely would.

The unit is beautiful and well equipped. The unit is on the beach which means that the children could come and go on their own all the time. No busy roads to cross to the beach. Makarios is excellent accommodation, with the very best location on Herolds Bay. These are beautiful units, secure and very exclusive. We felt very privileged to stay in the excellent accommodation. It is right on the beach and no busy roads need to be crossed to get to the beach. It was spotless and very well equipped. The reception was very warm and Elize was always available if we needed her. Everything is in working order and perfect. I would stay there again anytime. Thank you very much for a wonderful stay.

The view from the Seagull balcony was breathtakingly beautiful! Will definitely visit the resort again. There are a few things that were a bit disappointing. 1. I was not happy that the car was parked in the parking area for the beachgoers. There was no security for the rental car and we had terrible problems finding parking throughout the day. 2. From the third night we stayed in another room because the Seagull was already booked. The room was dark, dusty and some of the power plugs didn't work well. Also after we asked for a room with a double bed we got two single beds and we were not even asked if we wanted to make the beds into one with a bigger duvet. 3. The owner, even though we were told she was sick, didn't drop in once to see if we enjoyed our stay. Although I enjoyed the privacy, I would have appreciated it. I would love to visit Makarios on Sea again but would not stay in any room other than the Seagull.
