Lodge 33 can accommodate up to 8 guests and comprises 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, an upstairs loft, and an open-plan kitchen, dining area and living room. Each bedroom contains a queen-size bed and a shower en suite with a toilet and washbasin.
The large upstairs loft contains a lounge area, a 6-seater dining table and chairs, and a pool table. The loft opens to a covered balcony deck with a 6-seater dining table and couches.
The kitchen is well-equipped for self-catering and is fitted with a fridge-freezer, stove and oven, microwave, kettle, and breakfast bar with stools. The cosy lounge contains a flat-screen TV with a selection of DStv channels. The lounge opens to a covered patio with picnic tables. Outside, there is a boma with seating, a firepit and a built-in braai.
Sondela offers an on-site restaurant and bar, a farmyard coffee shop, a general dealer for basic necessities, communal swimming pools, a wildlife centre, and the on-site Iketla Wellness and Spa. Staff are very friendly, goats come to visit you on your porch.
Had a wonderful time, there is little to complain about! I think our only problem is with the size of the bathrooms. All four bedrooms have a tiny toilet/shower combination. Hardly a place to shower, forget drying off or anything else, definitely something we didn't like.
My kids had a great time.
