29 guests' feedbackThe long road to Sutherland ended at this amazing accommodation spot. Our host was welcoming and so helpful with regards to local knowledge and information. The cottage was well equipped and very comfortable. Attention to details like having the panel heaters and electric blankets switched on before we arrived. Unfortunately, we were en route home and had only booked one night. We will certainly go back.

Delightful little cottage (a teeny bit smaller than I was expecting but for one person or a couple, absolutely not a problem). Well equipped, with thought clearly given to how cold Sutherland can get, so plenty of options to help stay warm. Although my stay was business related, I would stay again.

Excellent facility for solitude and stillness.
We were so happy for the electric blanket and heated room and living room. There was wood, a fire lighter and braai facilities provided, along with nice biscuits, coffee and tea.
Very very big dream that came true and very nice stay.
We had a great week at Malan's Rust. Helanne and Marius are wonderful hosts who made sure that we were warm and comfortable even when it was below 0 outside. They also make sure that guests have light and can make a cup of something warm when Eskom strikes! The quiet town and cosy flatlet meant that we could fully relax and enjoy the peace. The location on the edge of town also meant our dogs could run around without fear. We loved every minute of it and will call Helanne first when we head that way again.

The accommodation is very well equipped with everything you need and even more such as milk in the fridge and biscuits! Helanne and her husband are very friendly and happy to help. Look out for Blommie the cat. She is very loving and always looking for attention.

The hosts are friendly and the rooms are lovely. Good value for money. They have heating and electric blankets. Milk in the fridge and fire wood for a braai or just to sit around the fire.
It was very special for us that the wall heater and electric blankets were on when we arrived. The owners really thought of everything. Will recommend for sure.

They went out of their way for us. Rusks and coffee and sugar provided. Milk in fridge and cold water. With water restrictions they provide water in canisters. Place clean and neat. Hosts caring and very friendly. Very safe. Awesome stay. Highly recommended.
My spouse and I were in the Yellow Daisy apartment for two nights. The space in the compact apartment is well used and equipped with everything needed, with a usable kitchen area. We appreciated the coffee, milk and biscuits that were generously provided, as well as the wood and lighters for the barbecue which were very useful during load shedding. Sutherland was cold in the evenings, but the two wall heaters, electric blankets on the double bed and more than enough warm blankets helped a lot. Just a few aspects for consideration: The little apartment is nicely decorated, but perhaps too many loose decorations and cushions. A traveler needs space and surfaces for bags, laptop, etc. A higher chair to be able to use the kitchen top would be useful, as there is no other table.

Marius and wife very friendly and helpful. Everything very neat and there was laundry and more. Will definitely recommend them.
Necessary was there.
Too small and cramped. There should be a door for the bathroom, a different floor covering for the room would help a lot. The base of the bed is not up to standard and injured my leg.
Comfortably furnished and sufficient, was forewarned about running out of water.
We enjoyed our stay and think with a few changes, such as a small table instead of a couch, it could be an excellent self-catering unit.
