17 guests' feedbackWe will definitely be back next year. Fantastic, clean and tidy accommodation with the best location, incredibly close to Paul Kruger Gate.
What a lovely place! Josie and her staff (Julia and Filimon) were amazing and perceptive. The place was neat and clean and with little surprises everywhere like biscuits and marshmallows. Even "loadshedding" was not an issue, with the generator kicking in immediately. We loved the peace and quiet and just sitting on the porch and relaxing after a long day of wildlife viewing in a vehicle. We watched many small game from the porch, grazing among the trees. The stars are amazing in the evenings and so clear. I would recommend Mananga to anyone who just wants to get away from the noise. 10/10 for this "Bush Retreat!".
Tap running in one bathroom, unable to close. One of the sleeper couch's legs was broken. The ice machine is a winner!
The house is perfectly located for visiting the Kruger National Park.
Mananga is walking distance to the Paul Kruger gate, but feels like a spot of your own in the wild. Has everything you could need and a great view. Would recommend an off road vehicle for the drive up to the villa.
Had a great time. Beautiful place. There was just no hot water in the kitchen and the appliances in the kitchen could use some attention. Will definitely visit there again.
We had a wonderful 4-night stay with young children. Extremely close to the Kruger gate. The kitchen is well-equipped and the bedrooms and living room very spacious. The kids enjoyed the DVD selection.
We spent 4 nights at Mananga in mid-November and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Set on a small private property right outside the Kruger Park gate, the lodge is very conveniently located for getting into the park. The villa itself is huge and clean, the rooms are frankly cavernous, but comfortable. All the amenities are provided (even an ice-maker) and it is fully serviced. There is a gas braai and a large fire area at front for sitting out and enjoying a bush fire. There is also some nice birdlife and it's nice to have impala and kudu waltzing through the camp.
Lovely little house near Kruger Gate. Well appointed. Wonderful visit stoep with a fantastic braai. Very peaceful with goats and birds at home.
Hear all the sounds (leis, hyenas, elephants) in the evenings. Everything is modern and there is comfort. It was hard to drive there, but they will see us again soon!
The only very important thing that was not good, was the main beds in the bedrooms. My husband's side of the bed seemed to be ok but not mine, so I did not sleep well because the wooden base under the mattress is half broken and falling apart. The mattress is very soft and floppy so it falls through the hole in the base below and makes a horrible hole that you must sleep in. My back was stuffed. Also the night frill had ugly brown stains on it. Other than the bed issues. It was really a lovely place to stay. And we would definitely stay again if the bed issues are sorted out.
We really enjoyed our time at Mananga! The accommodation was very neat, with spacious rooms and a wonderful porch and boma/braai area. Will definitely visit again.
The Villa at Mananga Bush Retreat exceeded all our requirements. Great location close to the Kruger Gate, comfortable accommodation, with WiFi and entertainment channels on the television. There is a fully equipped kitchen, with a choice between a gas grill and a hearth to grill on. Wild animals are constantly moving around the house, with a hyena now and then curiously looking around. The only shortcoming is that there is no swimming pool. Fortunately, the Proteahotel is just around the corner, with a swimming pool overlooking the Sabi River.
Min dat 'n plek selfs mooier vertoon as die foto's op die webblad. Met Mananga Bush Villa kry mens presies waarvoor jy betaal het en soveel meer.
Thanks so much Jozie, Julia and Charles for spoiling us so much. All we did was sit, eat, sleep, rest, repeat. Mananga has a perfect location close to the Kruger gate if you want to visit without driving to far. The Protea Hotel is just a stone's throw away if you feel like spa treatments or if you don't want to cook. Their Bona meal is also recommended. There was almost an issue with the baboons, but Charles sorted it out. They just wanted some of Jozie's chocolates and Oreos. We will definitely be back.
Mananga provided a luxurious feel to rustic bush holiday with the highlight most certainly being the wild animals who come right into the back garden to visit. Mananga provided the perfect escape from the city for my family. The seclusion of the house is perfect for the in the bush experience. This was my in laws first visit to the Kruger Park and they were absolutely thrilled by the animals who came right up to the house to visit. The accommodation is extremely comfortable and luxurious giving us the home away from home feeling.
Very nice place, very friendly people. The backyard contains a fireplace, kudu’s, gnu's, zebras and … baboons. These are clever animals that can penetrate your house and do so when given a chance. It is an annex to the Kruger Gate. For excursions you are picked up at the front door. Highly recommended.
