The country town of Lydenburg on the Escarpment at the start of the Panorama Route has much to offer, including trout fishing, bird watching, nature reserves, hiking and sports such as golf, bowls and squash. For a more leisurely outing, there are several fine restaurants as well as Museums and Historical monuments. The area is malaria-free.
Lydenburg is centrally situated en-route to the quaint fishing village of Dullstroom, the breath-taking Long Tom Pass, the beautiful waterfalls and forestry town of Sabie,
the historical gold-mining town of Pilgrims Rest and the magnificent view from God's Window over the Lowveld. It is only one and a half hours drive to the world renowned Big Five at the Kruger National Park.

It was really very comfortable, very tidy, people are friendly and you feel safe.
I can recommend it any day. Reception and other staff were very nice. Large, delicious breakfast. Neat terrain. Will book again any day.
When we got there Brian Karsten met us in reception. All documentation was available and immediately went to the room. They explained everything from TV to lights and tea and coffee was available. Going in and out of the gate was explained and the weekend started. Sunday breakfast was 5 star and home-made and tasty. Lots of variety and well presented. Will recommend the guesthouse to any person that wants to stay there.
We were greeted and received in a friendly manner. The staff at breakfast were very friendly.
Everything we needed was there. Clean and tidy and delicious breakfast. A little noisy due to nearby road.
Our stay felt like 'home' away from home. Relaxed atmosphere. Great service. Beautiful dining area where breakfast is served. Delicious breakfast and friendly service. Rooms are spacious with a view of the lovely garden and swimming pool. Will definitely use the accommodation again - very centrally located for trips and attractions.
Our stay was lovely, clean and comfortable. Location is very good. Arrangements for breakfast could have been made better. We left very early, and only realized late in the evening that we could ask for packed lunches. Breakfast was also already paid for, although the information in the room says that we don't need to pay for breakfast if we're not going to use it. Information about night watch and safety is also controversial. According to room information, there is no security after 7pm, while there is a night guard. Reception confirmed that the bar and lounge area closes at 21:00, but was already closed before 20:00. Furthermore, our stay was wonderful.
We had a wonderful stay. The room was very neat and spacious. Breakfast was nice and contained everything you would need to start your day. It was nice and central and easy to find the guest house. The manager was very helpful and friendly. If we are in the area again I will definitely check in there again.
The whole experience of our stay was of exceptionally good service and cordiality. Ten out of ten for the hosts.
It is an average, old guest house. Very friendly host and hostess and the breakfast was delicious and hot.
Very peaceful ambiance is created with the layout and the privacy. Exactly what one needs after a long day on the road!
Had a great time and would recommend it to anyone.
We will definitely stay there again if we are in the area :-)
