We did our first family camp here and it was so nice. We will definitely be back again.
A beautiful location on a citrus farm in the mountains. Small, quiet campsite which gave it an intimate feeling. The quality and cleanliness of the facilities were great. Plenty of grass on the sites. The sites themselves were a little smaller than I'm used to. Cheap wood and ice were available for sale on-site which was a great addition. Not too far from Citrusdal for other needs.
We camped for 2 days at Marcuskraal. We enjoyed it very much. There are lovely lawns and the pool was lovely in the December sun. The ablution is 5 star.
We were pleasantly surprised with how cute the place is. The site is well maintained with green grass, a clean swimming pool and a nice play area for the children. The bathrooms are also clean with good amenities. We will definitely be camping there again.

When we got there, there was no one to receive us. After many calls aunty (very rude) helped us. The grass at the campsite and swimming pool had not been cut for a long time. Campsite in general quite untidy.

We were received very kindly, the pitch is ideal with a power point, tap and braai facilities. Ablution facilities are very neat. Very nice location. Will be able to recommend for sure.
Not only is Marcuskraal everything it advertises on the web, it has some of the neatest ablution facilities I've ever come across at a campsite. I'm honest, we're not "campers" at all, but "glampers"! And arriving at a strange campsite at 19:00 in winter and darkness is a nightmare for a "glamper"! But then finding Marcuskraal's hotel-quality ablution facilities was a pleasant surprise! Furthermore, Christie also called more than once and helped and warned about routes with all the heavy rains where roads and bridges were washed away. Excellent customer service indeed!
Marcuskraal Campsite was exactly what my wife and I needed to relax in peace and quietness - just you and the birds. The resort is very clean and well looked after. Can't wait for my next visit. Will try out the chalet.

Marcuskraal is a lovely place to just relax for a weekend or even longer. Feel free to walk in the citrus groves and swim in the sparkling pool. Explore the area and feel free to eat out at Piekenierskloof Mountain Lodge. Or just spend the break quietly on the farm and watch the birds.

Beautiful campsites on green grass with clean and comfortable facilities. During load shedding, power was provided by the farm's solar power system. Nice pool and hiking trails. Wood and ice are available for the braai. Tour buses make heavy use of the accommodation and facilities, but there is enough space for everyone.
We had a great time. Trees provide nice coolness in heat. Just noticed that the grass was not cut. Bathrooms excellent!

It's more than I thought it would be. Birds greet you all day long. Other guests actually respect your swimming and bathroom use time, not that anyone asked or had to, but I appreciated that. Our first time visiting Citrusdal and we loved it.

Very nice neat campsite.
This was our 3rd visit to Marcuskraal and we have yet to be disappointed! Christie and the crew always makes us feel at home. We will most certainly be back. This year we met the most amazing campers and even had a street braai to celebrate Christmas!
We had a great time camping among the trees. The facilities are beautiful and clean. There is a lovely swimming pool and playground for little ones.

There is a nice running route for those who want to run between the orchards and mountains. The campsites each have their own power point and water (which you can drink).
Marcuskraal is a very neat, well-maintained campsite. No loud music from fellow campers. The pool is very nice to swim in. Lovely shade trees and green lawns. Flies are a problem ─ take your kite sticker with you.

Quiet and beautiful surroundings, with lovely weather especially in the evening. 4x4 is very challenging and definitely not for the beginner. Very nice farm with very clean and tidy facilities.
Marcuskraal is centrally located and has big trees and clean facilities, had a nice time camping there.
If you are looking for a peaceful getaway this is just the place. The bathrooms and camping grounds were extremely tidy, the atmosphere quiet and peaceful, and the children really enjoyed the swimming pool with the beautiful view.

The place is very neat, especially the ablution facilities. Nice big swimming pool. Some of the pitches are a bit tight. The tarmac is very close to the campsite, but it didn't bother me too much. The only problem is those weeds in the grass with the fine sharp thorns.

The camp is small and very relaxing and quiet. Most of the other campers respected this. The facilities are the cleanest and neatest I've ever seen at a camping spot.

Marcuskraal is the most beautiful campsite we have ever stayed at. The ablution facilities was great. Everything you need, in a sparkling clean environment. (The best was the ketting in the seam of the shower curtain! No clinging of a wet curtain against you as you shower.) The camp terrain is neat and clean with wonderful shade and a beautiful lawn. The swimming pool is sparkling and we could watch the rugby game on the big screen in the entertainment area. Ideal for a wedding, birthday or reunion. There is a lovely fireplace inside for the colder winter months. I can recommend Marcuskraal to anyone looking for a lovely weekend getaway with the most beautiful scenery and everything that goes along with it. A piece of paradise. Thanks Krisjan Mouton for keeping your farm so beautiful for the city dwellers to come and relax and enjoy.
We really enjoyed the time at Marcuskraal. For us country people it is the ideal place to relax. Neat changing rooms. Friendly people and for us ideal to use as a base to explore the area! Will definitely camp there again if we are in the area and can recommend it.

Marcuskraal camp is very clean, tidy and the ablutions were some of the best! We would recommend it to our friends and family anytime. Hospitality was great.
A great place to camp and I will return, but perhaps with earplugs this time as we were woken up at 3.45 the first morning and 4 the next morning due to a barking dog and crowing chickens in close proximity! Still, very nice.
Friendly owners. Didn't like the security cameras very much. Know it's good for security, but it felt like an invasion of privacy.
