Our money was stolen out of our bags when the staff cleaned our room. We informed the staff and nothing was done. Our towels weren't replaced with new ones. It was our honeymoon, and a stay we will always remember as a bad experience. The owner didn't even bother to assist us by sorting out the problem. If it was my guest house and guests had an issue, I would have attended immediately to sort out the problem. This is a very bad experience for us on our honeymoon, and we feel violated that the cleaning staff went through our luggage. I won't recommend this guest house to anyone because the owner didn't care at all about us.
The guest house is located in the older part of Simonstad. So a very neat, peaceful place with a nice view of the harbour. I will definitely go back again.
Mandy was a gem and the face of the guesthouse. Her helpfulness was a belt under the heart and immediately made us feel welcome. The room has a beautiful view and met all our needs. We will definitely book again when we visit the Cape.
It's really a breathtaking place to stay, really enjoyed it and the hospitality and food and service from the staff and management were top notch.

Mariners offers a beautiful relaxed B&B option with panoramic views of the Simons Town harbour as well as False Bay. Great location to explore the southern peninsula and includes an excellent breakfast. We would recommend Mariners for any would be travellers. Compliments to the exceptionally friendly and accommodating staff.

Biggest surprise when we came in on the cool evening and saw a fireplace burning. Most beautiful view of the harbor. Had a delicious breakfast on the porch. Will definitely want to come again.
I booked the "Honeymoon/Superior" suite as a surprise and treat for my wife's birthday. The room is not prepared at all as per the photo. The pillows on the bed were very uncomfortable with no candles available in the bathroom as indicated in the photos. The shower/hand wash and bath soap were all the same liquid that looked like cheap dish soap. I could not find any signal for the DSTV channels and the remote control for the TV was also not explained on arrival. However, the highlight of this visit was the breakfast which was well served and prepared.

Upon our arrival, Mandy greeted us and immediately made us feel very much at home. With her soft voice she let us explore the guest house. The manager was also very helpful and friendly. Our breakfast was top class and we enjoyed it on the balcony. The guest house is very nicely furnished. We will definitely stay with them again! 10 out of 10!

The choice of breakfast was very cute and breakfast of a high standard. We were particularly impressed with the delicious cozy fire and hot soup in the evening with a friendly face peeking out from the kitchen. Soft music in the background and a glass of sherry in hand in the cozy romantic atmosphere is recommended. The rest of our 20th wedding anniversary will linger in our minds for a long time and next time with the Argus we will walk through Simonstad with a different look and warm heart.
Daleen, the manager, received us kindly and quickly made us feel at home. Daleen also made an effort with recommendations of excursions and restaurants. The room was very nice and clean, spacious with a beautiful view. The breakfast was delicious, fresh and fragrant. We would recommend the Mariner Guesthouse anytime!

It is beautiful here. The receptionist is very nice and the breakfast is delicious. Rooms are beautiful with a nice view. We were worried about the cars parked outside. Our bedding was full of marks (we don't know what it was).

Hospitable staff who are always willing to help. The rooms are pretty, neat and clean. There is a 24 hour corner with tea, coffee and hot chocolate, which is fantastic with a fireplace fire on cold nights. It was a pleasant experience that was preceded by good communication and was accompanied by a hospitable and friendly reception as well as accommodation. Thank you very much, Daleen, for your part in our special weekend! We were kindly received on arrival on Friday evening and escorted to our room. The sleep was welcome after a tiring drive. On Saturday and Sunday morning we were treated to the most delicious breakfast, prepared with great effort and served with just as much care. Daleen is a true hostess and went above and beyond to keep everyone at ease and satisfied. In fact, we didn't even know about the other guests except in the dining room. I would request that a debit card facility be introduced there as well for those who would like to pay with it.

This is a lovely guest house. Delicious breakfast and Liezel is a very good hostess. Definitely not cheap and more aimed at the overseas market. Felt the honeymoon suite could offer more for the price I paid.

We really enjoyed our stay in the Mariner Guesthouse. The hostess was friendly and really made a lot of effort to fulfill our needs. Our stay was lovely and Mariner provides that little extra that makes you feel cherished. Views are beautiful and the core of Simonstad is within walking distance. I will definitely use them again.

We stayed in room 1 which is advertised as the honeymoon suite. It was a lovely large room with four poster bed, antique furniture, own kitchenette and sitting area, and lovely spacious bathroom. The view from our balcony was beautiful. The daily breakfast was delicious from the fresh and/or stewed fruit to the specially prepared hot breakfast. The room was absolutely flawlessly cleaned and tidy every day upon our return. The calm music playing in the background throughout the sitting/dining/reception area was a bonus and definitely suited the elegant setting. Daleen was a friendly and helpful driver who repeatedly steered us in the right direction for another great day - be it the penguins, submarine tour, Cape Point or just for shopping trips. We were introduced first hand to the sound of a raging South East wind, but after the initial ferocious introduction we accepted it as part of the adventure. Mariner has style steps from the parking area to the guest house, and also between floors. It might be wise to take that into account. Mariner was a wonderful experience for us.

My only suggestion would be to make the cost of the breakfast more variable. For example, paying R105 x 4 for each breakfast is very steep, especially when the adults in our family are not big breakfast eaters.
